Amazing footage Petr! Thank you for sharing this with us. You are my favorite Chilliwack river TH-camr, your knowledge of the natural systems is apparent and your respect for the fisheries sets a great example for all the Vedder anglers such as myself. Keep up the great content!
Excellent footage! Those bull trout are eating some “expensive” minnows, too bad they don’t eat more other species of fish, but I understood they eat what they prefer, and fish have preferred forage…
Nice video Peter very exciting to see the underwater views of the whitewater. My kids are just starting to love swimming I think I might take them here for a dip this weekend
The parking lot fills up pretty early. I went with my kids and we had to walk in from the main road. Be careful if you are going in the river, there are rapids and log jams below. The sunken forest out in front of the river is a better choice and there are big schools of sucker fish to look at.
Ooh I know that spot. I didn't realize it was illegal to fish there. I've definitely seen some young guys fishing there but assumed it was legal. I used to catch Minnows at Chilliwack Lake as a kid. Hope I didn't accidentally kill any baby salmon 😂
It always amazes me how many people don't bother reading the regulations. The whole river and all tributaries of Chilliwack lake are closed to fishing above the hatchery. For sure many people fish there though, I find gear every time.
The Chilliwack river is closed to fishing from Slesse creek (hatchery) all the way up to the lake. There is decent trout fishing below the boundary and also up in Chilliwack lake if you have a boat.
More whites than reds in the system and an overall small number of both. Fishing was shit this year. I just got home from a trip there today and I came home empty handed. Hooked into one chinook that snapped me off in some rapids but that was it on the Vedder
It would be nice if you could show were it is you filmed lile were can i see this can you share that can be a wild river strong i only go to were i can do what your doing but also safe Thank you love the vid you make. I use to work with Dfo
The location is not secret, I describe it in the video. I have 20 years of white water kayaking and snorkeling experience, so I can make good decisions about fast water. I don't recommend that people try it in water that is faster than you can swim.
He said it was behind the no fishing boundary where the Chilliwack lake turns into the Vedder River. There is a 100ft deep hole with massive dead heads just south of him in this video. Great cutthroat fishing in that hole just outside the boundary lines in the lake
Hey last wednesday my friend ajay was drowned in cultus lake but cops are failed to find him but they gave us permission to hire private divers so can you help us i will do payment to you
I am sorry for your loss, I used to be a scuba diving instructor and deep dive certified, but none of my equipment is up to date serviced right now. A freediving search would be ineffective, because the lake is quite deep. Try contacting the Aquatic Monkey, he knows the local divers that could help you better than I can.
I love that river, coldest lake on the planet.

Great video Petr! I really liked how you showcased the life of the Chilliwack Lake/River Sockeye 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was excellent…well done!
I appreciate your kind comment.
Wow! That was super cool! Loved seeing the smolts as well! Was not expecting that!
Glad you liked it!!
I remember doing Adventure training in the Fall up at Chilliwack Lake, we'd camp up by Sapper's Park and watch the Sockeye going upstream to spawn.
Yes, it's something special about salmon.
Thanks for this Tim
You bet
Thanks for giving us a look under water. I loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it!

It's been working for thousands of years, so as long as we don't mess it up, should be fine. Thanks for the comment.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Super cool!
Thank you for the kind comment.
Love the underwater footage bro! Keep it up! Hyped for this fall. I think It will be a good season
Thank you. I hope we get some rain, because at this rate the river will be a little creek by September.

Great footage ! Was thinking of doing some trout fishing up there this week

@@petrhermanadventures9509 thx for info, wasnt 100% sure
Nice footage! Great to see them in good numbers. How is the red spring fishing going? Haven't been able to make it out yet, is it a good time now?
You're not missing out. The return of reds has been very small this summer.

Are there crocodiles inside?😁😁
