    This is neatly done but thank goodness TH-cam gives the option to slow down the video. It's hard to follow at the speed you were going. I'm going to give it a try though!

    I was trying to find pleating so I can do a skirt-like edge on a scarf I'm making and this is 10 times simpler. Also much cuter. Thank you for the video, it was super easy to understand.

      As was I. For a manly sweater for hubby.
      I'll make him a real manly sweater and then add the most luscious ruffles in the most gayest of pink, just to see his face. It'll be priceless. lol

    Hi, just found you today, and I'm so glad I did! I'm a subscriber now....beautiful work! I've been looking for new edgings, and voila, here you are! Your instructions are perfectly clear. Since this is definitely not for begginers, you have an option to make this video slow down. Thanks so much!

    This is excellent! I love watching your videos! Anyone who knows how to crochet should be able to follow along. She is quick. That's what happens when you know what you're doing. If you can't follow you should try a single/double crochet border.

    I’m not a youtuber. But if I were one I’d want to hear any type of criticism good and bad because not only could it inspire my work to grow but also my followers. I’m simply not subscribing because I can learn this from someone who can explain it better. I would also like to point out that some people were taught how to crochet in many different ways. I myself was taught very hands on but it has also made me a visual learner when it comes to watching videos and her camera can’t keep up.

      Courtney Pratt I startrd learning to crechet from youtube 6-7months ago. I have done 2 sweaters, 2 tops, 2 hats, 1 skirt, 1 scarf, and tons of headbands (all for my 2 year old daughter) I think she did a good job explaining it. It is good enough to the point that even a non-native English speaker who speaks very little English like me can understand and follow her easily.

    I wish I could crochet as fast as she does....maybe in time. It doesn’t matter her camera doesn’t keep up with her as she’s repeating the same stitch pattern- one row 2 x doubles in each stitch , one row singles. It gets a little different on the corners, if you have them, but that’s it for the pattern repeat. I would have never have thought it was those two row combinations that made up the ruffle! (I’m a forever learning beginner.....??)

    Hello! I love that purple yarn colour - what is the brand and type of yarn etc. Please? I haven't watched the full video yet, but if you haven't done so already, could you please advise how to stitch the ruffle so that it expands as you move through further rows? Thanks a lot!

    I love this.
    I was planning on making a manly sweater for my husband, all in earthy and autumn colours. Now I'll lively up his sweater with a ruffled edge in the gayest of pink colour I can find. Ruffles on his sleeves, ruffles around his neck, ruffles around the waist, all in very, very gay pink. Just to see the look on his face.
    Of course, I'll remove the ruffles so it's a waste of time and yarn, but that look on his face will be priceless.
    LOL, nay, evil cackling.

    Would this edging work without the sc row? Only with two rows of dc?

  • @precisediamondTV

  • @TLRB86

    If you weren’t crocheting in the round and instead was just crocheting straight across would you still cut your thread and start from the beginning or would you turn your work?

  • @patty8255

    Nice work but you are going so fast a beginner has a hard time with this!

  • @stephmort2575

    When your on the second row which is the single crochet and you come to the edge are you putting the two single crochet and 3 chain and single crochet in one stitch or seperate throughout the corner I’m sorry I’m kind of confused because you didn’t finish all around and it goes too fast

  • @Amanda-dn9mk
    @Amanda-dn9mk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Could you just continue without the row of single crochet? Just make the next row 2dc in the same stitch?

    people it's on the notion that u already know how to crochet if not go find some videos that will teach u how to crochet, she is good at what she is teaching at least she is showing some awesome videos not that u would know how to do it so back off

      I do know how to crochet and still had a hard time watching. If you’re going to do a tutorial on how to do something why not just slow down a little bit even for the beginning. She’s going so fast her hand blocks what she’s doing.

    If you could do the first few stitches more slowly, those of us that are beginners can catch on a bit more easily.

  • @CK-fx4ev

    The first thing you did was chain 3, neither the instructions nor your verbal video say you started with a chain 3 on rows 1 and 3 until the third row. You might want to add an annotation explaining WHY you have to chain 3 and slip stitch from the back end working in the round because you omitted vital information. Not great for an instructional video even for intermediates.

    • @Krissyrocksoutloud
      @Krissyrocksoutloud 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      C K what are you talking about? I agree that this might be a little too fast for an absolute beginner but to say this isn't a great video for intermediates is crazy. I'm not intermediate but I would think you wouldn't need everything explained at that point. You should be used to these simple concepts used in pretty much every pattern. Of course the chain 3 on rows 1 and 3 are to reach the height required for the double crochets and the slip stitch is to complete the row while working in the round. These are beginner concepts.

    Nearly impossible to follow for a beginner. I have yet to find someone to post a tutorial that isn’t at high speed. I find myself wasting time pausing and rewinding the video. Beautiful blanket though please 😢.

      It's because she's telling you the kind of stitch she's using. She's not teaching you how to do the particular stitch but instead how to use stitches to make something else.
