In the "States" there is college football on Saturdays with Pro Football sometimes having a game on Saturday, but mainly the schedule is Sundays (Day and night), Monday Night and Thursday Night games. Most of the time on Saturdays, if we are free, we will go to a nice restaurant, do some shopping, catch a band or two at a local venue or catch a movie. Different things depending on the area. May go camping or have a cookout if it's nice. I have been watching all your videos from the first to this point and it does seem that your brush is really loosing some hairs. My first was a synthetic and after a year, a local soap maker in the town up from me had a Kingsley badger brush with her supplies and I bought it. I had looked at the boar brushes she had and my Grandfather did have a boar, but I went for the badger. That had to be around '97. It's a basic white resin like handle and it has maybe lost one or two hairs in that time. I washed it not long ago and it is soft as can be but, doesn't have the stiffness of the new one I bought this year. It still lathers like a champ thou. There isn't much bout Kingsley I have read about, it is made in the UK. Do you know if they are just like a low tier brush or what have you?
When I use a pre-shave like the Proraso Green or Sandalwood, I let it the beard and skin absorb it for 5 minutes before I apply the shaving lather. The test of any blade is how it shaves on the neck with the XTG and ATG passes, and above the upper lip on the ATG pass. I'm not sure if any blades are going to be smooth on the latter, so if you get a close shave with no cuts above the upper lip after the ATG pass, then it's a good blade. I've read alot of good things about the Perma-Sharp. The cheapest prices I see for it are on Ebay, so I'm going to find out which vendors are reputable. Can you report back and tell us how many shaves you get with each Perma-Sharp Super? How long does the scent last on the Floid Black? From now on, I only buy aftershaves that have the longevity of colognes. Kevy - I wasn't sure that your videos were produced in Scotland. If I had known, I would have suggested this as your opening: th-cam.com/video/Tn5y6bOLizA/w-d-xo.html
I never used the boots witch hazel for post shave, but I often use it during the shower as a facial scrub. may use it now for post shave and try it out.
The best shaves IMO are with 3+ days of growth. Stallion is one of my favorite RazoRocks. It performs incredibly well and the smoothness is unmatched. The only RR soap I put above it is Triple X, only because I like the scent better. I got the Stallion aftershave and the scent is waaaay too strong for my tastes. I have to remember to go super easy when I use it. My 830 seems to shed a bristle or two every time I use it, too.
You're right, the 3+ days of growth are always great shaves. I like xxx too, love the scent on that. I need to pick up some Stallion soap and splash. I'll keep an eye on the 830. Don't want it shedding too many hairs 😀
David Marshall I'm not sure if there is such a thing David! I've not heard of it anyway! Lol! The Boots tea tree and witch hazel works great and it's cheaper than Thayer's, but doesn't smell as nice but it's still a nice, clean, fresh scent. Kevy.
Kevy Shaves Thanks for the reply Kevy. Do you think it would be possible to make it by adding a few drops of Sweet Gale essential oil to unscented Witch Hazel?
Hello kevy I watch your videos in random order . I never used a slant , what's the point of this kind of razors, the way of shaving (angle, holding) is the same ? By the way i have three Gillette adjustable razors, if you want one i will give it with great pleasure (my way to thanking you)
The slant razors cut the hair at a an angle. This supposedly makes it easier for the blade to cut the stubble and gives a closer shave. You hold it just like you, would any other razor. It takes a bit to get used to but after a couple of strokes it's pretty easy to use a slant. I fine my Merkur 37C does a great job of giving a close shave. Hold onto those razors and sell one to buy more gear! Cheers. Kevy. 😀
Hey Kevy. Enjoyed this video. I am glad you liked the Perma Sharp. I tried using Proraso pre shave recently and enjoyed it. Got it per your review of it. T-he Stallion soap is awesome smell - the cologne of it by Razorock smells even better!!Chris
Cheers Chris. Thanks to you, I think I may have a new number 1 blade! A few more shaves with them to see if they continue to be as good as they were in this shave 👍
+Kevy Shaves Yeah, me too. I also really like the Rapira Super Stainless. But I used the Permasharp this morning with my Merkur 39c (large version of one you used) and a soap Chris Bailey sent me for first shave with that. It also felt like I didn't have a blade in it!
Great shave Kev! The theater group sounds relaxing. Do you have a role? Naturally the narrator due to your expertise with voice over. Or are you running sound- music, micing the entire production perhaps?
Another Good Shave Video Kevy !! I am having a fling with Lord Platinum Coated which are new to me ?????? I am Usually into Feathers and Voskhods and Sharks but the search is is never Over LOL
*Uh oh... Kevy got the Permasharp experience.* *Man those blades are something else. I am another "convert", as Nick Shaves called it lol. o___________O*
Cheers Kevy! Brilliant shave. Do you follow the football leagues are you just making conversation. If so, what football club do you support in Scotland?? Or do you prefer to support an English club? I'm a referee in the US, but I love to watch Liverpool matches on TV. Scottish leagues aren't televised here, but I would likely support Celtic or Hearts. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for promoting the hobby.
Cheers Steve. I used to follow football when I was younger but not so much now. My dad used to take me to see Dundee United when I was younger and I still look for their results so I guess I kinda follow them! My English club would be Tottenham. Liverpool are doing well just now. A referee? That's great! I enjoy your vids too mate 😀
New subscriber here. Great shave today. I've been thinkin of tryin some new blades. And now I have an idea as to what. I too am a firm believer in the preshave treatment. If you ever get a chance to try Mickey Lee Soapworks lime preshave butter do so. The scent is magnificent . In answer to your question. During football season, college or university football is the saturday diversion. So friday nights, high school, saturday college, sunday pro. When it's not football season, you sundays wishing it was. And yes, some of us yanks like footie as well. Glory glory to the Hibees ( I know,,they kind of suck right now) .

This is the first I knew you were involved in theatre. I was for quite a few years back in Michigan and in California. "Hell Week", as we call it in America, is quite tiring and harrowing for sure before opening. Putting it all together with set, actors, crew, lights sound, for the finished product and then you see the magic.
Well done Kevy, that looked a good one 😌👏 the only snag is now I feel I have this wee Scottish voice speaking in my ear continually saying "Go on Dave, you know you want to buy some PermaSharps, go on, go on" 😂 Have fun with the acting 👍
I've tried these in my Merkur 37c too and they are the business: sharp and smooth. I think even better than Polsilvers for me.
They are great blades. I can't decide which are my favourites between these and Polsilvers. Cheers. Kevy 👍
I have tried a Perma Sharp in my DE89LBL using Arko soap. It gave me a great close shave. Keep up the good work.
Perma Sharp is my favourite blade and use it in the R41. Really smooth blade
Good call Simon. Very smooth blades. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Just received my Razorock Stallion today, absolutely love the scent, very masculine, smells like a summer Spanish night 💈🇪🇦

I'm not familiar with Kingsley brushrs. They might be a UK company. I'll need to have a look for them. Cheers. Kevy 🙂👍

Great. Let us know if it works for you in the post shave routine.
Great video, nice shave. Is there difference between the perma-sharp super and the Gillette perma-sharp?
No, I.m sure they are both the same blade just different packaging. I think Gillette bought the company. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 thank you very much
Been using Perma Sharp 1/2 blades in my shavette. They are my current favorite as well.
That was a fantastic shave with them Ronnie. 😀
I like to use the Merkur 37c with Rapira Swedish Supersteel blades.I'll try Perma sharp blades.Thank you
u won´t be disappointed, they are both very similar blades - very sharp and very smooth
Let us know what you think of them. 😀
Good shave Kevy! I'm curious to know if Perma-Sharp blades moved into your #1 spot. Thanks.
Hi Alan, the Perma-Sharps have made it to my number 1 spot. Excellent blades. Very smooth and sharp.

Spot on! Spot. On.👍
Well done as usual Kevy, brilliant blades. Hope you are all well. 😊
Cheers John. All good ta. Great to hear from you. Hope your doing fine yourself mate 😀
You used Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel in this video Kevy. What's your opinion of Witch Hazel & Sweet Gale? (if there is such a thing)
David Marshall I'm not sure if there is such a thing David! I've not heard of it anyway! Lol! The Boots tea tree and witch hazel works great and it's cheaper than Thayer's, but doesn't smell as nice but it's still a nice, clean, fresh scent. Kevy.

David Marshall Yes that would definitely work 👍
Kevy Shaves Cool, my new experiment. I'll have a go and let you know how it goes. Thanks.
Mercury 37C + Polsilver Super Iridium = incredible combination
I'll need to try that combination Tasos 😀
Another great video Kevy. Do you have any maca root shave cream? It's one of the best for me.
Cheers Steve. Yes, I've got a full tub of maca root waiting to get used!
+Kevy Shaves I agree with Steven, it's great & produces an amazing lather 😌👍

Thank you for addressing my question again..
No problem Ahad. You're welcome 👍
@ Kevy how do these PermaSharps compare with Astra SP? Are they sharper/better?
I would say they are a little better. They are a bit sharper and smoother for me than Astra SP's, although I enjoy both blades. Kevy 😀
@@kevyshaves4109 thank you for the feedback.

Just ordered 100. I want that shower.
Of course coming from India it will take a month hahhahah
It's yours. I'll trade you for the Perma -Sharps! 😜
Pack that shower up and post it and the blades are yours!
They're still not here grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Soon, I hope.
We don't see much of your p.a.a pre shave and lather booster much.
You're right! I need to try it again. I didn't feel it worked very well for me when I used it before.
