FF5: The dawn warriors seal away Exdeath a being that was born from evil spirits that were absorbed by a tree in the Great Forest of Moore using the crystals of another world. He then breaks out and has to be stopped by the warriors of light. FF15: Ardyn was betrayed by his brother and was sealed away for 2000 years only to be freed by the empire and studied due to his ability to absorb the Starscourge. This ability drives him insane and he swears vengeance on his brothers descendants only to be stopped by Bahamut who planned all of this to begin with. Bahamut tortures him into compliance and sends him off to spread the Starscourge so Noctis could one day become the chosen king and kill the Starscourge along with Ardyn. Bahamut does all of this from inside the Crystal and the only way to kill him is to destroy him in both the physical and astral realms meaning that you have to draw him out of the Crystal. FF6: The Empire captures and enslaves Espers in their Magitek Research Facility in order to create weapons of war and conquer the world. The Returners, a resistance faction, saves a teenage girl, Terra, who turns out to be half human and half esper and convinces her to break the seal on the esper world in order to unleash a counterattack. Unfortunately, that's what the empire wanted them to do so they could kill the espers, absorb their power, and take control of the warring triad which are the tree goddesses of magic. Kefka, one of the emperors generals, then betrays and kills the emperor in order to unleash the warring triads power and bring the world to ruin. The party then defeats him one year later. FF16 A Theory: The enemy nation uses the Dominants to summon the Eikons in order to conquer the world. The MC's homeland then retaliates by using their crystal to artificially create magic users out of their broken Eikon and it's Dominant Joshua. The MC is the first Magitek Knight created and is only one with free will due to "imperfections" in the process that were later ironed out. He was never told this and once he realizes the truth he goes rogue and betrays the nations of the world in order to save it's people. This results in him killing all the Eikons and gaining their power in order to save Joshua. He then realizes the only way to save Joshua is destroy the crystals that give everyone their power. Otherwise, Joshua would be hunted till the end of his days for the power of the Phoenix Eikon. So he destroys his homelands crystal which causes a massive elemental explosion and creates a World of Ruin. He then goes on a quest to destroy the other crystals in order to bring peace to the land even though it may take the planet a 1000 years to recover if he does so, because if he doesn't, humanity will destroy itself in all out war.
This video touched on my comment I made on another content creator's video, just like how Joshua was healing makes everyone assume he's the Phoenix dominant, it's a visual indicator, so why wouldn't you think the same when you see Joshua's eyes looking very similar the ethereal fire entity's eyes just because the entity's current form is adult stature, it's misdirection. I was thinking that his emotion state determines which Eikon is in current control, so when Joshua is calm, the Phoenix is currently is possession, up until the point Joshua can summon at will even under duress, but when he just seen is father get executed, it's like when Naruto saw Hinata "die" and he gave control to the demon fox inside him, so Joshua gave or it was taken by Ifrit, that would give context to the scene of Joshua and who is assumed to be Shiva's dominant female character, like Joshua confides in her that feel different inside alluded to dark thoughts or urges. Then with the logo of the game, it kind of gives off this ying and yang motif on how Phoenix and Ifrit are positioned and if you watch the transition of the logo on to the screen, it makes a similar animation of drawing out a ying and yang symbol, which that could symbolize Joshua's internal struggle with having two Eikons opposite of each other for a fire element as fire gives life and can destroy life.
Bro, to be a fellow peasant mentioned in a peasant vid...cheers mate! When I get to England, let me buy you a pint! I’m glad you enjoyed my theory, I don’t think ifrit is the main villain, but the spy’s wanted to take over. They just unwittingly released ifrit unto the world (due to the terror, rage, and despair that Joshua suffered watching his father get slain, and being betrayed by someone he probably considers family) the mysterious big bad uses the chaos that ifrit creates to take over the nation, and why the other nations continue to fight, or that was the catalyst for the nation of titan to take over the nation of fire and begin its conquest over the nation of ice. Most likely the one leading the army of the Titan Eikon is the one that had his spies attempt to kill the Fire Dominant (Joshua). Shield’s objective isn’t trying to kill Joshua, but ifrit, and the leader of the titan eikon’s army. The secret big bad. Ifrit is the visceral threat, but the one in the shadows that set everything in motion is likely the Titan Eikon’s leader. You see Shield have the titan’s arms when he was younger meaning he had maybe befriended the Titan Dominant in his youth and was granted that blessing of his power, or before the assissination attempt of the Fire Dominant (Joshua). Just a theory of course, but eventually when Shield discovers who was responsible, his goal isn’t to kill the dominants, not even the Titan Eikon’s army. His revenge is against the one that plotted the assissination and accidental torment of his charge Joshua. Alternative theory to that, before getting the brand he may have been forced to kill Joshua and kill ifrit to prevent chaos from spreading causing (your theorized) mark of shame. Imagine the shame of the Shield being forced to kill the one he was sworn to protect. His vengeance is rightfully justified then. While also, the reason being why he has the ability of Phoenix wings, and titan’s arms when Shield was younger. They also talk about the dragoon that attacked when he was younger. That could be the prelude to Joshua’s assissination attempt, or a distraction for the shield while the spies slay his father and attempt to kill Joshua (the shield not being around during the assissination is a bit suspect, considering his sole job is to protect Joshua; pretty hard to protect someone if you aren’t physically there to do your job lol).
Shivas dominant is shields little sister, who is friends with joshua. Joshua likes her. Joshuas brother is jealous that joshua became the dominant because the crystal rejected him. So basch boy, plots his revenge on the crystal. Shield and his sister are not from the homeland by birth. And since shields sister became the shiva dominant, she is considered a spy and kidnapped while basch boy is betrayed. So shields sister is being forced to work for the enemy (think hypno crown from ff6). So in order to stop the cycle, both dominant and crystal must be destroyed. Shield resolves himself to kill his sister (essentially freeing her from the crystals control). Also, maybe, after phoenix is defeated by ifrit, what if shield picked up a feather from phoenixs wing? This would explain why he has that wing like attack we get to see. And after titan is defeated, what if he picks up a pebble from his corpse? And what if, it is shield that is truly unique because he can channel the power of the eicons while not being anything close to a dominant. (Maybe shield is the mime class). It is due to this fact that shield can do this, that the rest of the world realizes that dominants arent neccessary and that the crystals were truly manipulating people.
I think there's more to the phoenix as Yoshi seems to really like it. Louisiox "became" the phoenix in the first raid of XIV, and it has been kept a secret ever since. Like the phoenix, he basically saved all the warriors of light from death and did immense damage to bahamut (answers cutscene Flames Of Truth) those actions coordinate with the classic abilities of phoenix summon in all FF titles where present. IDK nor do i really care at the moment the story of this new game, just noting the symbology here and that I think this phoenix will fight an evil Bahamut like in XIV.
It might be set in Eorzea, during the Third Umbral Calamity from the XIV wikia: "The Third Umbral Calamity or Calamity of Fire resulted from the dramatic shift to religious worship in the realm that followed the decline of kingdoms and discovery of magic. These churches became as corrupt and powerful as the kings that preceded them, and their desire for control began an age of holy wars, witch hunts, and genocide" The conflict is literally umbral fire (Phoenix) vs astral fire (Ifrit), also notice how the quote mentions holy wars being fought, and the FF XVI trailer mentions "crusaders" whom we all know is the name given to soldiers who fight in the name of god.
What if all the summons are subject to this duality? Shiva and Leviathan arguably two sides of the same coin. Death and Life. Pandemonium and Rahmu, wind / air is life giving and Lightning chaotic and destructive? You could argue this for all elements. What if the chaotic summons like Ifrit are finding a way into the opposite of the twin realms through the dominants?
Now the names of the protagonists are released. Im pretty sure that the main character is not Ifrit. Main Character- Clive Rosfield Phoenix Dominant- Joshua Rosfield Girl- Jill Warrick Now, Joshua and Jill are names associated with god. Joshua= Lord is my salvation and Jill=Child of the gods. The main protagonist last name is Rosfield, or Rosefield. A Rose symbolizes God's love. Literally, Joshua's full name means God is my salvation and God's love. While Jill Warrick is Jill =Child of the gods and Warrick is = Town near the river so just based on her name, im 100% confident that she a dominant It's either Shiva or Leviathan. Now going back to the main character, being not Ifrit, his name Clive = Person who lives near a cliff and based on the artwork released, the castle is built on a cliff. Based also on the character profile from ff16 official website says "Clive's promising career is to end in tragedy at the hands of a mysterious dark Eikon, Ifrit, setting him on a dangerous road to revenge" So Im guessing The main protagonist will end the reign of crystals and dominants, and will rule the new kingdom without magic or Eikons. Ifrit's Dominant might be still in the shadows and yet to be revealed.
Marv Collins has the best theory I've heard so far. It actually makes sense if the FF16 world had a fire, earth, water, and wind crystal. Why would each crystal have a summon limit? If Ifrit affects Joshua's personality as well, this little boy is probably gonna be the Jekyl and Hyde of FF16.
What I don't get about the Theory of Joshua being both Phoenix and Ifrit is...Why different summon areas? Why does it show Phoenix being summoned, when Joshua loses control after his father's death, above him - while the Ifrit summon comes up AFTER with the amorphous form across from Phoenix. It doesn't make sense for that to happen if it's summoned by the same person - with other FF games, the summon takes the place of the summoner, or fights beside the summoner as an equal - not against. During when Phoenix is summoned, the men standing in front of Joshua do not look like the Knight that gets his...giblets ripped out (possibly) or the traitor(?) dudes armour (because one was brown, longer-haired than the reddish-blond colour of B's), they look like footsoldiers of a completely different faction as red/black/white seems to be Joshua's kingdoms concept - perhaps these "Imperial Crusaders" made some people turncoat and have a summon through the amorphous being? Dark Magic? Trapped Elemental? That they use as a reason like "hey we can save you all from the blight but to do this we need these dominants" etc. So what if the Imperial Crusaders WARPED the Ifrit Dominant? I do like the Eikon's "choosing" someone as a holder for their powers, like Shield having Phoenix's wing, Titan's fists, Garuda's claws - I would like to think that being the Phoenix Dominant vassal (protector) that they would look to him as the last like a smidgen of power that Phoenix left behind when he was...captured? Killed? Dissolved? Eaten? And to bolster that power they give their own. As a Phoenix never truly dies as long as there's something to create from the ashes.
Considering neither Phoenix nor ifrit were ever primary or important summons, perhaps they're trying to do another trilogy with this series that escalates into us going into the eidolon kingdom and maybe confronting the father of summons. Maybe they really want that Bahamut FFXV villain they never got to put into game format.
I just wanna say your theory videos about FFXV made my experience with it so much more exciting. Almost nothing turned out to be true and almost everything sounded better than what we really got in the end. It's half the reason why when I look back at XV I feel nostalgia and excitement, why I look back at it positively. So much unused potential... but these theories made it all fun!
When Ifrit is ripping apart someone outside of the frame of the camera, you can briefly see some teint of flamming red, so my guess is that you're right on the money of that being Phenix being shred apart by Ifrit.
Plus, considering Ifrit's size, that is way too much blood for him to be attacking anything other than pheonix. Like he would be having to tear up an entire battalion of soldiers to get that much blood from humans.
what @@erebostenebris3954 said plus he's clearly having to apply force to rip apart whatever he's ripping apart, if he was pounding on basch he could do it much more easily definitely tearing out phoenix's wings
if you look at the eyes of the summons, ifrit and phoenix, they are both bright red, as if to show a state of rage/berserk which means they are uncontrolled at that point, where as the shiva and titan are both normal and in their right mind, just a little detail i noticed, dont know what to make of it though
Yeah! What came first to my mind was since he said "as long as we have this..." maybe the tattoos are something similar to the brands in FFXIII! So they literally cannot defy orders, they're slaved by it somehow? Also "as long as" seems to imply there's a way to get rid of the tattoos like in FFXIII AND that they're on a mission unwillingly. Love the speculations man, keep it up!
I think the protagonist has to somehow gain the power of all elements to take down the out of control fire kingdom ala avatar last airbender. Someone secretly gained the power to call ifrit and waited for the right moment to launch their cou de ta, killing Phoenix, joshua, and seizing control of the "fire nation"
What if they're going back to the FFIII roots where, instead of warriors of light having warriors of darkness parallels, the Eikon have dark parallels and each one has its own "age" where they fight and trade off dominance of the world. It could also explain the main characters appearance change, as he's Joshua's bodyguard and if Joshua embodies Phoenix, the other "version" of him isn't a time skip version, but Ifrit's bodyguard/his parallel? Possibly it's time for the dark fire Eikon to rule but the MC protects the light fire Eikon's vessel and knows the only way to complete the transition of power is to let Joshua be killed to maintain balance. It would also explain the tagline regarding them wanting to end the age of the crystal's assuming the Eikon's are extensions of the crystal's and wouldn't be too far out of left field since FFIII had light and dark crystals already.
What if shield is a bastard child. And hes the one saying joshua is his younger brother. The archdukes hair color is black like shield where as joshua has blonde hair taking after his mother. Maybe the hair color here is trying to show that they have different mothers. Thats why shield is joshuas shield because hes not an official son but still has the love for his younger half brother to protect him with his life. Could really be a game of throney thing like jon snow.
I am loving the concept of your characters being summons/great spirits. Not the first time for me, hello tales of series, but yeah the concept is really interesting.
Love hearing more theories, I've been thinking along the same lines as a lot of these! Now to try to temper my excitement for the time being until we find out more details.
I was so inspired by 16 I wrote a little something, my friend's reaction was "that's just going to be the plot." So I'll share a short summary. "Long ago, war between those with magic and those without. Before the world was destroyed, 8 heroes appeared carrying crystals. They ended the war and divided the world into 8 countries, each with their own eikon to protect them and their own magic to guard. Shiva, Phoenix, Leviathan, Titan, Garuda, Ramuh, Alexander, and Bahamut. Phoenix guards the red magic, Bahamut black, and Alexander white." I actually wrote phoenix gaurding red magic in my short story because I just thought it matched it, healing and damage fire etc. This video made me go "oh mah goodies". I really didn't notice that red mage outfit. Other predictions are leviathan/bismark guards time magic, Ramuh has ninjutsu. Not sure about Blue Magic, but Odin should have Arcana (Dark Knights).
The Eikons are neither good nor bad, they're forces of nature. But like a nuclear bomb, it can be a weapon of mass destruction in the wrong hands. Just like real life.
So... what's the likelyhood that SE will make future parts of FF7R M rated? I don't see how the Zolom and lab experimentation scenes are going to be effective if they keep it Teen rated, and frankly the vast majority of us want it to be M rated. Maybe it's just wishful thinking but they won't necessarily lose more money if they tailor it to a more mature audience, right?
What if there is a life connection between the eikon and the dominant like in final fantasy IV, when Cecil and Kain Killed the dragon of the mist and this killed the mother of Rydia?
Guys, just think about it.... wait for it.... Knights of the Round in this game. They have to put them there, goes so well with the medieval setting. Maybe the Empire has them? And they are a primary antagonist?
ok so first off, WHEN DID PEZ GET TO 94K SUBS CONGRATS MAN!!!!!!!!!! Second I really can't wait for this dark Final Fantasy an M rated Final Fantasy.... its like a dream come true. 3rd the Pez community is amazing!!!!!!!
Hey peasant, i wanted to say that after 4 years i bought world of final fantasy and playing it. I remember when I started to watch your playthrough of the game with fond memories. I still remember when you said that if your channel reached a certain mark you would keep working and go full time on making final fantasy videos. I just wanted to share with you this because that game was a blast and a pleasant memory of my life.
What do you think the thing with the eye and flames will be connected to? Cuz there is a flame in his eye in the begging and in the end of the trailer the two flames connect in his eye.
I'm so glad Squeenix have trusted new people to produce the next installment because the people before them haven't had such a great record in the last 10 years. SE needed fresh eyes and hopefully these two guys will give FF the kick that it needs. Yoshi P has said how much he loves the FF series and high fantasy so I'm SO GLAD he's been allowed to produce a main entry! I'm so looking forward to FF16 and I haven't been excited for a main entry since FF12. I've noticed that the guy fights with what looks like a wing of Phoenix. Maybe these elite guards were trained to harness the power of Phoenix? So would that mean the guards of other Dominants also harness the powers of their respective Eikons, i.e, icicles for Shiva, a stone fist for Titan, etc?
It could also be editing magic. To me, those blood splatters don't look like they belong in that scene and looks nothing like the blood splatter on Joshua's face both in colour and texture. It looks like one of those cheaply animated blood splatters.
Okay i just noticed that the blonde guy with the tattoo at the beginning has a similar armor to the Empire Vipers, he just doesnt have the helmet, maybe our whole party is made out of outcasts from different factions, or maybe our hero goes to the empire on his own to get his revenge by posing as one of them and wanting to betray them when he finishes his own goals at first, but then he sees they are also people and they become friends or something like that, the tattoo is somewhat connected to The Vipers, when the blonde guy says maybe he refers to The Vipers cuz they are the elite warriors of the empire, maybe the empire instigated the war between the shiva faction and the titan faction, and are allied with the titan faction so they can steal shivas dominant thats why they are hidden and are planning the attack from outside of the battlefield, factions are playing checkers, while the empire plays chess
im just rewatching the trailer and the armors are basically the same as the one on the dragoon, but dragoons armor has more flare to it so maybe hes a captian of some sorts, the collars of the armor are the same, and the main chestplate is the same also, even the knee armor thingys, pez i hope you check this out
From the start I thought the little girl would be Shivas Eikon & the setup was like a royal engagement type thing between 2 countries/territories like Luna & Noct. I’m loving the idea of Ifrit taking over Joshua & then ordering the disgraced Shields to take her out during the war. Man this story speaks to me!
@@saintgeekSG because its distracting. the char is angry, but on the side lovey dovey. It just doesnt fit well. At least no with revenge. With ff10 is was fine though; different setting.
@@mrsgamer9218 Ah yes, you're one of those. The type of people that think that a main character wanting revenge has to be angry absolutely all the time with 0 other emotions, and with no friends and no lovers. They also think that those edgelord stories were the mc goes around killing everyone is actually "realistic and good writing".
@@saintgeekSG no i am not one of those. And ive read, and written, enough revenge stories thank you. I want to give you Tales of Berseria as a good example. Its a good revenge story, and it had no need of a romance. It only wouldve been distracting like I explained before.
They did it pretty well with Lightning Returns. That game had its issues, but they managed to make a pretty great battle system revolving on just one character
Just a shot in the dark theory; what if the arch duke was the dominant of Ifrit and kept it secret from everyone to keep the existence of two fire eikons a secret. Then when he was killed Ifrit, having no dominant to occupy, decides to jump into one of the nearest dominant worthy people and Joshua was his choice. But since Phoenix already resides in Josh, the two must do battle for the right to his body and Phoenix loses. So Phoenix then might choose shield as the new dominant to occupy and that may be why we see him use the powers of Phoenix.
After seeing the japanese trailer, i'd say the Bash-looking dude is the older brother of Joshua and maybe Ifrit too. During the scene where Ifrit is rampaging on ... well.. we don't know obviously, but maybe Joshua? As the MC says something like "Stop ! Isn't he your young brother?!"
I was browsing the internet and I didn't find any decent content about Final Fantasy, so I would like to know if I can produce Portuguese subtitles for your videos
Based on the trailer, I think the Dominants physically become the Eikon. I think Phoenix and Ifrit battle, Ifrit wins and (is seen) ripping Phoenix apart, effectively killing Joshua. I'm unsure about good and evil Eikons coexisting in each Dominant -- that means we will definitely seeing new Eikons (what's the evil version of ice/Shiva? earth/Titan? etc.) If anything, I think the ghostly spirit which summons Ifrit is related to a greater evil which we do not know about yet.
So on the theory that Joshua is both Ifrit and Phoenix, what if we fight Ifrit later in the game for possession of Joshua soul since you mentioned it being eternally burning and then he is resurrected as a more pure Ifrit where Joshua has control over of it (nodding to the ying and yang energy shit) in a crucial endgame fight. Say we beat Ifrit and maybe fight a late or endgame boss in a Cgi cutscene where pure Ifrit attacks the main baddy allowing for shield to strike the killing blow?
Super hyped for FFXVI thanks to you Pez! However, don't think 'Basch' (Joshua's brother, or perhaps another Shield?) is the traitor as the dude slitting the archduke's throat had longer center-parted hair instead of 'Basch's faux style.
5:00 So that sounds like they're going Jungian with Pheonix being the Persona and Ifrit being the Shadow. Sounds like Joshua is going to be a lot like Fei from Xenogears.
Possibly a little out there as a theory but what if shield and in a sense us are ifrit and that our goal is to eliminate the dominant and absorb the summons to where in turn we destroy the Crystals linked to them. Even the trailer says "the legacy of the Crystal's has shaped our history for long enough." Why make that statement if the goal isn't to remove them.
The tattoo kinda looks like it has a lance through it. We know from the trailer, that dragoons are allied with with the empire and hat they were present at the invasion. What if the empire won in this instance and MC was captured and put in as a legionaire/ slave warrior kinda of typ and the tattoo is some version of the mark of the empiere. the line line across it doesn't have the same thickness all the way through.
Does anyone else see that tattoo as a Phoenix Pinion/Feather with a slash through it? It really seems appropriate as the mark of a fallen or failed Phoenix faction.
Honestly I wasn't sure about this game when it was first revealed, but the hype grows as more details come out including who is working on it. It really looks like a cold, colorless, oppressive world. I am curious to see how the Final Fantasy spirit shines through all of that.
I have another theory. Maybe the blight isn't the threat here. Let's go with the blight being a threat to the crystals because it wanes their power in some way. As stated in the trailer the crystals have influenced history in this world for a long time. It's because of these crystals that we have summons, wars, and death. The hero of this story says "I'll kill you" maybe not be referring to his former charge but maybe the crystals themselves. This may be the first final fantasy where we are not on a quest to protect or save the crystals because of what they can do for humanity but instead to destroy them to set humanity free from their control. The entire story could just be about regaining humanities free will.
so i have an idea, how about all the scenes we see with the MC as a kid is with pheonix powers, then after possibly loosing that fight with ifrit, as an adult he defeats eikons and gains some of their power, we see what i think are titans fists being manifested in the trailer. on a seperate note i still think shiva's dominante is not the lady in blue, but joshua's mother, similar facial features, would probably make for a more interesting story. yes give me an actual FF game with a darker story, it'll be the first time that FF has actually done it properly. WoL to WoD is a more apt and recent development than cecil.
those were my first thoughts when watching it. not the red mage stuff though i never noticed that. but i think its heavliy implied that there is a duality in joshua and both the summons are his
Phoenix doesn't die it rebirths upon death. We also see the main character when fighting use Phoenix abilities etc, the Phoenix wing when doing aerial attacks.
@Final Fantasy Peasant have seen this article? gamingbolt.com/final-fantasy-16-in-development-for-4-years-coming-sooner-than-expected-rumor If you’ve looked at it could you do a video on it please?
The tattoo marked rouges remind me of Ronin whom were branded with markings to show their criminal affiliation in ancient Japan. Not saying their criminals but perhaps outcasts
I don't think Ifrit will be in a villain or good guy roll. But is used for good or evil by whoever wields his power, and that could be said for all the summons that might show up in 16.
I commented on the last video but I guess it didn’t get seen. But I want to point out the armor that the guys at the campfire wear is similar to the dragons armor. They could be imperials. You can see another character in the background with the same armor aswell when MC is using Titan hands I believe. He could be forced to work with imperials, if they were of the same faction then mc should be wearing similar armor. If they are imperials I don’t think he likes having to work with them but has no choice. If they aren’t imperials then MC is just special out of the group
I wonder is FF16 actually related to Final Fantasy Type-Next teased awhile ago as secret ending for FF Type-zero. We can see both have phoenix as a thing in it but is just one from western culture setting and other from eastern culture setting. I kindna wanna playing Final Fantasy Type-Next though just based on the trailer. Lets hope FF16 will be great too. Would like to know what does Pez think on the similarity we see here.
What if the summons/eikons in Final Fantasy XVI's world can't just manifest without a bond with a Dominant. In that case, Ifrit could have been summoned by Joshua accidentally out of rage and horror, giving the chance to Ifrit to manifest himself to wreak havoc on the mortal/physical plane.

I am already more excited for this title than I have been since 13. I really hope this is straight up badass like 7 and 8 were.
I'm really hoping the game is as dark or even darker than Type-0.
Idk if that's possible Type-0 was EXTREMELY dark
The Director of FF14 is in charge of the game. If you played HeavensWard - ShadowBringers you would know how dark the game can get.
Type-0 was awesome
It might be set in Eorzea, during the Third Umbral Calamity
from the XIV wikia: "The Third Umbral Calamity or Calamity of Fire resulted from the dramatic shift to religious worship in the realm that followed the decline of kingdoms and discovery of magic. These churches became as corrupt and powerful as the kings that preceded them, and their desire for control began an age of holy wars, witch hunts, and genocide"
The conflict is literally umbral fire (Phoenix) vs astral fire (Ifrit), also notice how the quote mentions holy wars being fought, and the FF XVI trailer mentions "crusaders" whom we all know is the name given to soldiers who fight in the name of god.
Main Character- Clive Rosfield
Phoenix Dominant- Joshua Rosfield
Girl- Jill Warrick
Now, Joshua and Jill are names associated with god.
Ya hate to see it 😪
Plus, considering Ifrit's size, that is way too much blood for him to be attacking anything other than pheonix. Like he would be having to tear up an entire battalion of soldiers to get that much blood from humans.
what @@erebostenebris3954 said plus he's clearly having to apply force to rip apart whatever he's ripping apart, if he was pounding on basch he could do it much more easily
definitely tearing out phoenix's wings
wait, maybe the subtitle can be something like war of the espers
if you look at the eyes of the summons, ifrit and phoenix, they are both bright red, as if to show a state of rage/berserk which means they are uncontrolled at that point, where as the shiva and titan are both normal and in their right mind, just a little detail i noticed, dont know what to make of it though
Yea that flashy FFXVI battle sequence has Ryota written all over it.
FINAL FANTASY PEASEANTUS MAXIMUS YOU ARE THE BEST THANKS FOR ANOTHER VIDEO
may he live forever
What if shield is a bastard child. And hes the one saying joshua is his younger brother. The archdukes hair color is black like shield where as joshua has blonde hair taking after his mother. Maybe the hair color here is trying to show that they have different mothers. Thats why shield is joshuas shield because hes not an official son but still has the love for his younger half brother to protect him with his life. Could really be a game of throney thing like jon snow.
I am loving the concept of your characters being summons/great spirits. Not the first time for me, hello tales of series, but yeah the concept is really interesting.
Thx for uploading the news and the theories. With the university and work I hardly have time to check it on my own so I prefer to check your channel.
Love hearing more theories, I've been thinking along the same lines as a lot of these! Now to try to temper my excitement for the time being until we find out more details.
It's crazy to look back and see that I followed this account around the same time I got 15
Phoenix guards the red magic, Bahamut black, and Alexander white."
I actually wrote phoenix gaurding red magic in my short story because I just thought it matched it, healing and damage fire etc. This video made me go "oh mah goodies". I really didn't notice that red mage outfit. Other predictions are leviathan/bismark guards time magic, Ramuh has ninjutsu. Not sure about Blue Magic, but Odin should have Arcana (Dark Knights).
Watch it be M rated but everything gets censored by Square's internal Quality Control sector/group...
The Eikons are neither good nor bad, they're forces of nature. But like a nuclear bomb, it can be a weapon of mass destruction in the wrong hands. Just like real life.
I miss Maduin/Madeen being the fatherly light summon as opposed to Alexander and can only hope they bring him back in some game someday.
Pez when it comes to upcoming final fantasy vids, I only watch yours mate. You've always blown it out of the water
So... what's the likelyhood that SE will make future parts of FF7R M rated?
And Alexander
ok so first off, WHEN DID PEZ GET TO 94K SUBS CONGRATS MAN!!!!!!!!!!
@Justin B meaning they're new to direct and produce a mainline FF game that isn't an MMO.
I don't think "Basch" killed the archduke. The armor design is different, but it does look like it was some associated with them.
It's definitely not Basch. You can freeze frame and see the face of the guy who killed the archduke, he's much older, just blond.
This game look so good I'm definitely going to play it, btw I'm still waiting for Versus 13
The amount of blood that Ifrit draws with each pull also makes me think Phoenix or something equally large. That's too much blood for poor ole Bach!
It could also be editing magic. To me, those blood splatters don't look like they belong in that scene and looks nothing like the blood splatter on Joshua's face both in colour and texture. It looks like one of those cheaply animated blood splatters.
@@sniderealism2410 I'll admit that the quality of that blood is just tragic but it's a work in process. Hopefully it won't look like that at the end!
Okay i just noticed that the blonde guy with the tattoo at the beginning has a similar armor to the Empire Vipers, he just doesnt have the helmet, maybe our whole party is made out of outcasts from different factions, or maybe our hero goes to the empire on his own to get his revenge by posing as one of them and wanting to betray them when he finishes his own goals at first, but then he sees they are also people and they become friends or something like that, the tattoo is somewhat connected to The Vipers, when the blonde guy says maybe he refers to The Vipers cuz they are the elite warriors of the empire, maybe the empire instigated the war between the shiva faction and the titan faction, and are allied with the titan faction so they can steal shivas dominant thats why they are hidden and are planning the attack from outside of the battlefield, factions are playing checkers, while the empire plays chess
im just rewatching the trailer and the armors are basically the same as the one on the dragoon, but dragoons armor has more flare to it so maybe hes a captian of some sorts, the collars of the armor are the same, and the main chestplate is the same also, even the knee armor thingys, pez i hope you check this out
also i noticed that the tattoo looks a lot like the blade of the spear that dragoon used in battle with our hero shield
Expect more. We should expect more summons, not feel lucky to get a few.
Pretty boy main protagonist With swag... check!
RIGHT
Can't wait to see pretty boy in action.
I assumed that the guy that says "Another fire summon" was Joshuas brother!
Its so good to see these theories and thumbnails for a main ff game again, another journey for the peasant of old
I dont know why but you playing lunas speech over the xvi scenes was too funny
I miss the light colorful and magical world of final fantasy ... is it just me?
The battle of two realms leads me to believe that there are 2 realms...
Are you sure about this?
I want some romance for the protagonist too. It's been a while since we got a proper romance in FF.
Id like a revenge story more....
@@mrsgamer9218 What exactly makes it impossible to have romance in a revenge story?
24:14 What's the name of this song??
EDIT: Ok, I found it. And it's epic af!
[th-cam.com/video/Ln9Sq7IOP3o/w-d-xo.html]
I can’t believe you missed the red mage theory. I immediately thought of your red witch theory. Much love pez. Stay safe.
Pez what do think of the rumor that this may be the first solo ff game. We have yet to see anything resembling a party.
They did it pretty well with Lightning Returns. That game had its issues, but they managed to make a pretty great battle system revolving on just one character
Great video mate
I get the feeling that the girl talking with Joshua is close or related to our main character, maybe his little sister?
Super hyped for FFXVI thanks to you Pez! However, don't think 'Basch' (Joshua's brother, or perhaps another Shield?) is the traitor as the dude slitting the archduke's throat had longer center-parted hair instead of 'Basch's faux style.
Hiroshi Minagawa is also part of the art department. That's why the dragoon looks like a judge. He worked on XII.
5:00 So that sounds like they're going Jungian with Pheonix being the Persona and Ifrit being the Shadow. Sounds like Joshua is going to be a lot like Fei from Xenogears.
The trailer said something about the war of two realms. Odds are the second fire dominant probably came from there.
So the only unique fantasy style thing are the summons and the combat possibly? I haven't seen any unique or intricately detailed areas
The overall concepts of this game mirror Versus13 and we all saw how that needed up.
Love the Lalafell and Elezen Red Mages on the thumbnail :D
I'm really getting hyped!
The entire story could just be about regaining humanities free will.
great video man.
so i have an idea, how about all the scenes we see with the MC as a kid is with pheonix powers, then after possibly loosing that fight with ifrit, as an adult he defeats eikons and gains some of their power, we see what i think are titans fists being manifested in the trailer.
on a seperate note i still think shiva's dominante is not the lady in blue, but joshua's mother, similar facial features, would probably make for a more interesting story.
yes give me an actual FF game with a darker story, it'll be the first time that FF has actually done it properly.
WoL to WoD is a more apt and recent development than cecil.
those were my first thoughts when watching it. not the red mage stuff though i never noticed that. but i think its heavliy implied that there is a duality in joshua and both the summons are his
is 16 going to finally explain the origin of the "Pheonix Down" item?
Phoenix doesn't die it rebirths upon death. We also see the main character when fighting use Phoenix abilities etc, the Phoenix wing when doing aerial attacks.
FFXVI gives me the FF Type-0 vibes. Blood, more mature themes, war themes, etc.
As long as nomura doesn't touch the story im happy enough.
Ive been thinking this for awhile but that branding mark looks like mark of a Fal'Cie.
We finally escaped Fabula Nova Crystallis, don't make us go back again.
@@Raxen95 Yikes, I never meant to imply anything that scary.
Nicely done pez
I'm so ready!
@Final Fantasy Peasant have seen this article?
gamingbolt.com/final-fantasy-16-in-development-for-4-years-coming-sooner-than-expected-rumor
If you’ve looked at it could you do a video on it please?
So Fabula Nova Crystalis right?
The tattoo marked rouges remind me of Ronin whom were branded with markings to show their criminal affiliation in ancient Japan. Not saying their criminals but perhaps outcasts
Pez could it be the man next to the pillar of fire is the same one as the man talking to shield with the brands on their face?
Will they change it in the future just like ff15? Because it was too dark before.
Tim Rodgers said they love the witcher 3 in Japan and Cyperpunk 2077 is going to be rated M also, hopefully they take some tips from CD Project Red
Could the bash looking dude also be the same guy at the start of the trailer with a tattoo on his face? The blonde guy, not the MC.
ive never seen a summon get bloodied up like that.....
Can you make a video on war of the visions final fantasy brave exvius/ final fantasy brave exvius?
I really wish Square would let Nomura make his version of Versus 13 as a full game even if we get it as the KH3 version or a new IP
