This might sound like a minor nitpick, but compared to the last theatrhythm game on 3DS it's really dissapointing how much more generic and less varied the backgrounds are for each song
Having played the hell out of the two 3DS Theatrhythms, yeah it does feel like that for a lot of the love and care put into the game, there were some rather glaring omissions and questionable changes. Less unique backgrounds, some EMS video changes, no more unique airship field stages, so many arrangements of Battle on the Big Bridge, as some examples. It's still a great rhythm game though and has got quite an impressive song count, but there are those little things.
The funny thing with FFXIV having the biggest soundtrack, most of my friends agree they didn't bring in enough XIV songs! Here's hoping for some dedicated XIV DLC!

32 songs is nowhere near enough considering how much music that game has. The expansions are especially underrepresented in this game. And no Endwalker at all.
I'm sure we will get more FF14 songs as DLC, my note about 32 songs from was intended to be more playful rather than negative mostly because how much time it took me to clear all of them in a short period of time for the review 😆.
FFXV has mainly battle themes but there’s literally better themes from that game :((( Like RAVUS AETERNA and Wanderlust. They don’t even have Calling For Rain. (Happy Hellfire made it tho)
lol Sony has nothing to do with it, it's coming out also for Switch and this is the first time we get a Theatrhythm game in PlayStation consoles. What you should blame is poor sales on Xbox, not Sony...

Yes there are but they are only appear in the Free play Music Stages mode after you clear some of the stages/titles in Series Quest mode.

How's the button mapping like? Feels kinda odd to be pressing the buttons with the goal at the side instead of the bottom.
There's no specific buttons except for the flick notes with the analog sticks. Any button will count as an input for the tap and hold notes
