- When Gary Moore left Thin Lizzy in 1979 during a US tour, Phil Lynott was not amused. The pair fell out and didn't speak for three years. Now they're back together, and have recorded a new song; "Out in the Fields". How did that happen?
Originally broadcast 7 May, 1985. - เพลง
I met Phil and Snowy in 76 I was a kid walking down the street with my dad. Dad said ' do you know who they are son?' and they stopped and Phil lifted me up. He said ' respect your Dad and live your life kid' I had no idea who they were. But dad had a camera so I have a precious memory
Snowys wife was my teacher in the 70's.
He used to wait for her in his green mg sports car
"We shook hands and beat everyone else up." Classic!!
Loving early Elton John 🔥
@@BrenMurphy1🤔
Phil Lynott has got to be one of the coolest rock stars in music history
2 amazing Irish musicians. RIP 😢
Gary Moore doesn't particularly sound Irish when he speaks. At least not in this interview
@@davidd.6448Cause he s from Northern Ireland
@@Altanirves right, but even Northern Irish people have a specific accent, he just sounds english to me
@@davidd.6448 Very true indeed. But I read thatt he lost his Belfast accent, probably after moving out of Ireland, so he must have adopted a more English accent
@@Altanirves that makes sense.
Two geniuses, when they worked together it was like magic. The Black Rose album is a masterpiece.. Having grown up on these guys music it was so impactful and influential.. RIP... Phil and Gary...
Cool...not listened to black rose yet...been loving renegade...thunder and lightening etc...been listening to Gary's solo stuff today aswell...v cool...out in the fields or whatever...awesome..
The 'Black Rose' album completely blew me away as a 14 year old and I still listen to it today. Lizzy made a lot of great albums, but it's the best one IMHO.
Amen to that!! Gary had the ability to play like a monster and/or be very fluid in the same song. I love how Phil presented "Whiskey in the jar" for the rest of us. The Grateful Dead did it as well, but it just didn't sound like the way Phil presented it. He was such an underrated vocalist!!
@@grobbler1Wow, I heard it at the same age! There was this DJ at a local station that had a Sunday night show of nothing but hard rock, the emerging "metal" music and so on. One night he played the entire album with no interruptions! Loved it!! Saved my allowance and mowed a few lawns to buy it, lol!!
@@iamnotpaulavery You've got good taste.
TL don't get the recognition they deserve.
Both were two of the most talented artists in the industry.
I'm "Still in Love With You"

Phill is just so cool
Not my idea of cool
@@jamesjameson4566Just shows that you arent ;)

@@jamesjameson4566Me neither.
@ppo2424 that's your problem
God bless them both. RIP. Fortunate to have seen both in ‘75 and ‘78 together.
What a fantastic couple of experiences. I'm just watching the Sydney performance. It brings tears to my eyes.
They don’t make ‘em like that anymore🍻🍻
Phil was the MFN GOAT. I swear, you guys think I'm crazy. Can you name a better rockstar than Phil Lynott?
Yea Gary Moore
@@ITheNightmare Your spite exposes your deep-seated hate and divisivness very well. Phil is the man
BEST FRONT MAN EVR!!!!!!!!
I know I can't
Your mum.
Fantastic Musicians and well respected in their native Ireland.
Gary Moore is buried in Brighton & Hove village just next to the sea.

Gary Moore was from Dundonald and Eric Bell was from East Belfast. The two actually knew each other and I think, Eric Bell recommended Gary Moore, not sure if that's accurate! Both were phenomenal guitarists! In the video for "Out in the Fields" there's footage of Gary Moore walking around burnt out houses in Belfast!
Gary Moore is one of, IMO, the best guitar 🎸 players ever.
Two Irish 🇮🇪 Legends....
Both phenomenal musicians.
I have had the privilege of seeing them both live
Gary Moore and Phil Lynott in one of his last concerts with Thin Lizzy...
What an honour‼️
🎸🎸
GOOD RIDANCE LOSERS 😂

There’s 1 million songs about love and break ups and all that kind of stuff but there is only one song about the boys being back in town ♥️The song implies that the boys once left town 😢
Gary is and will always be one of the greatest
Sadly both no longer with us.
Talented musicians RIP 🙏🏾
2 legends RIP
Two absolute legends.
Still can't believe Gary's gone .. the greeny keeps his memory well in the spot light
Gary Moore the messiah will come again makes me cry every time I listen to it, it's amazing kev uk❤❤❤😊
Two great energies.... music lives
This must be one of Phils last appearances on TV, sadly. R.I.P. 🙏🏼
Nobody better, he was loaded with charismatic charm, cool calm and collected, very bright, but also deeply saddened, that's what killed him in the end😮 RIP Philo ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Miss these guys. I wish they were still around today.
Sad to think that a year after this interview the legend, Phil Lynott, died on my c-sectioned removal date of January 4th, in 1986. ✌️☯️☣️ Thank you for all the beautiful art and your soul to grace us in general you beautiful fellow Irishman.
Do you mean giving birth by Caesarian section? strange definition using 'removal'.
@deborahhenderson149 Indeed, you had read it trithfully forthright. Well, to inform you on the subject matter. A procedure "C-section" tis in fact, the act of an unnatural, surgical fetus(es) removal(s) taken out from what a once was hosted bodily flesh wombed prison.
@deborahhenderson149 Therefore, a removal is not an act of giving a true birth, nor an natural birthed existence into punishment.
Ah miss these guys so much.Brilliant guys rip lads.
They will be remembered as legends
What a team, great lyricist and phenomenal guitarist.
RIP the lads
Gary Moore is a guitar legend 🙌
I am a qualified lesbian
R.I.P the legends, just cant let you go has to be, in my eyes at least Moores finest guitar solo and its also a beautiful masterpiece in song writing 😢
Love them ❤❤❤Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸 Thank you very much
A Gentleman is what it says, a gentle man! Musicians for President!!!!
RIP Lad's...I play TBAB every time "The Dub's" win the GAA All Ireland Championship.
"Don't believe a word, because words can tell lies, and lies are no comfort, when there's tears in your eyes", best duet ever
Phil is the best frontman ever.
Legends
Two Irish Legends💪🏻💪🏻🇮🇪
Legends 💯💯
Phil Lynott. My dad's man crush back from when I was a kid. It was only a few years ago it dawned on me why my dad used to perm his hair when we was kids. I took great pleasure winding him up about that soon as I realised it
Love them both great Irishmen
The boys are back. Brilliant music and wonderful memories. RIP
The Boys are Back in town again.
RIP Phil and Gary, two amazingly talented guys!! They left quite a legacy. When my son and daughter, particularly my son, would go through my record collection, they both loved these two magnificent musicians! Gary is one of my many influence that molded my guitar playing! God bless them both!
Omg, both of these gentlemen...the best ever. Wild Frontier and Dancing in the Moonlight. Love and miss you always. ❤
Both legends. RIP 🙏
If it wasn.t for Gary I''d have nothing to work towards, he's been my idol since I saw him play in 70'
If they would have stayed together the music they would have made ..wow
Heroin. What a waste.
Was really Alcohol that killed him
Alchol killed moore
@@GIGI-lp1gcTrue, but the reason he left the band while on tour like Phil says in the interview was actually down to Lynott and the other band members scoring heroin while touring the US. The party scene must have been pretty “unconducive” to making music so Moore packed it in and went home. It’s such a shame because when you listen back to Lizzy tracks today they are so well put together that they really shine.
@@GIGI-lp1gcI think the comment meant Phil's dabble with heroin
Two INSANELY talented, very unique artists the likes of which we'll never see again. RIP, Phil & Gary.
Love these 2❤️💜❤️💜
Rest in peace to two iconic legends 🙏🙏
Lynott had a tremendous voice, and Moore was a great guitarist..
I’m beyond words! What talent!
as an american thin lizzy never got enuff recognition over here
great music
The best ever !!! ❤️ 😢
The only issue I have is that these guys aren’t in the HOF.
Sorry. Not as good as mad donna. Biggie. Or m and m.
Love Phil. It's beyond me how Gary didn't get more recognition
Wow these fellas could rock 💫✨💕
Very sad we have lost both of them.
These two created magic together. They made the best Lizzy lineup with Scott & Downing. A shame about drugs and alcohol though. At this young age they already looked super roughed up...
Two legends..
Why is Gary using a London accent? He’s from Northern Ireland….
I saw the band perform in Vancouver as a warm up for Queen, approx 1976. I was exhausted from the noise of the two bands.
Thin lizzy guy reminds me of you Danny
Absolute legends both of them
Thin Lizzy Live n Dangerous was the best live album of its Day
Mega band especially great solo,s from all the lead guitarist who graced the stage with Brian Downey n Phil
Still celebrated today on Phils death anniversary in Dublin every year with GIG at Olympia theatre.
Sadly missed Icons ❤
What a pair of legends, it's criminal rolling stone didn't put Gary in the top 100 guitar players list. It shows what they know about music these days.
LEGENDS!!!✊
Two Amazing musicians and People Icons it's so unfair and sad that they're gone!😢
Two great men's and very powerfull friendly and the music as AWESOM pure LEGEND'S!!!
Out in the fields was an amazing song - my favourite - though there's many other great songs from the pair of them.
This makes me choke up... Again.
RIP, I hope you having a blast in Gods Big Band in the Sky..
Legend has it that Gary Moore got his Scars by being glassed in the Dirty Duck pub in Walsall England..dont know if true but it was said alot when i was younger.

Mr. Robert William Gary Moore 😢
They are gone
Along with this breed of Rockstar
The ONLY rewarding thing about being the age some of us are today is we got to witness such greatness that will never happen again
Phil lynott Thin Lizzy forever 🤘🇧🇷
My all time guitar hero. RIP Gary.
Legends!
Phil said he was mad at the guy for a long time and it was three years. Anyone remember when three years was a long time? In these times, now, three years is the blink of an eye. I mean, hell, people still talk about Jan 6, 2021 like it was yesterday. Time seems to move faster nowadays is what I'm saying.
I would've loved to see this reunion at Heathrow
ПОКОЙТЕСЬ С МИРОМ РЕБЯТА ...АНГЕЛЫ ИГРАЮТ ВАШ РОК ...
Great dúo.
I walked past Phil Lynot back in late 70s/early 80s. Few years ago I walked past Ray Davis of The Kinks. I was stunned into silence both times. Wish now that I said how much I admired them.
Its difficult isn't it, I'm 99.99 % sure i met Hugh Cornwell in Greece back in '89, i was on Kos, before it went commercial a couple of years later. I was on a beach at the far west end of the island with my girlfriend, literally only maby 10 people on this beach. There was a little kinda shack at the base of the cliff with these two people, i guess his wife, very pretty if i remember rightly, Hugh was doing a little windsurfing on this almost mill pond sea but i couldn't let on i thought i knew him as i was aware he wanted peace and quiet 🙄wish i had though as i was a big fan of the stranglers, my girlfriend kept saying i should say something, but i just couldn't invade his space.
@@shannonreed9808 Nice story. Good times. 👍
Gary Moore will be playing at my funeral ......
