    I love being aromantic because: 1. I have the space to focus in myself and my growth, and experience the world without being attached to a partner. 2. I can be more independent. 3. I can form deep friendships and give a huge amount of love to my friends!

    One thing I love about being aroace is that I don't need a relationship, I have other really cool things to do than be constricted by someone else.

    i love being aromantic cuz i dont have to spend my time being like "does he/she like me" crying over exes or trying to date also i get more time to myself to take care of my strawberry garden

    I very recently realised that I am romantic (99% sure) and what I love about it is that you have a lot more time and energy to use on friends or hobbies etc. (as you mentioned). Relationships just appear to be so much effort for legit no reason like when I was still figuring out if I liked dating I just felt to burnt out and out of place. Now I just feel a new freedom lol

    I’ve definitely had a bit of troubles with my own label as aro since I love to do traditionally romantic actives with friends I’m close to but allowing myself to just love without worrying about having a romantic partner makes me very happy. Also I love both the aro and aroace flags :)

    I prolly also feel strong platonic attraction but I also have to, at the same time come to terms with the fact that my friends will still treat their romantic relationship different from how they treat ours. And it does still suck that other people will still put romantic relationships on a pedestal and maybe value them more.

    I love being aro, because instead of having to deal with dating or the stress of crushes. I can eat breakfast in bed and watch TH-cam on my phone for hours. Which is what I’m doing now even though it’s midnight.

  • @kat_the_mouse
    @kat_the_mouse 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Being aro is so much simpler. No relationship stress, no trying to date, no wanting someone I don't have. Just me and my dog, the way I like it.
    Plus every time I realize I'm a different identity I get into that aspect at a deeper level. For instance, if I wasn't nonbinary, I wouldn't know what my gender felt and looked like. If I wasn't aro, I wouldn't know about all the different kinds of attraction and how I feel them. I like being able to know all these things about myself.

    Very late to this, but I like being aromantic because of my unique perspective on romance. It can be very entertaining to see people's reactions when I bring up a new point none of them thought to consider, I don't think I'll ever get tired of it

    Not too long ago, I saw a meme on how to come out as aroace: I am a member of the order of the black ring. I am immune to such things as attraction.
    I just love not having to bother with that constant questioning of "is this platonic or romantic attraction? Does this person like me back? What if we break up and it destroys our friendship/friend group?" that seems to be going on in the lives of allo people (according to books) with the added relief of not desiring a romantic relationship, which seems exhausting to me.
    I also love the flag (though I actually prefer the asexual and nonbinary flags).
    I am looking forward to spending my life living with friends and meeting other arospec people.
    I am also looking forward to maybe writing stories with more diverse characters than we see nowadays and writing lots of complex relationships that don’t have to be romantic in nature.
    I love discovering a wide rage of types of attraction that many allo people I know don’t bother exploring, like platonic attraction, aesthetic attraction, sensual attraction and so many more!
    Those are probably the main reasons why I love being aromantic (as well as asexual).

    • @jirsadcassam
      @jirsadcassam ปีที่แล้ว +5

      wow, I too should write complex aroace relationships! such a good idea 🙂

    One reason I love being aromantic is how amazing the flags color pallet is! Like for aro spec awareness week I’m wearing a ton of greens, blacks, grays, and whites. I also love doing fun abstract art with the colors.

  • @nightsulk4903

    I love being aro because I feel like it allows me to have incredible friendships that I view as family, I have a major love for my friends and I know that is generally shared among the group (despite being the only aro there), another reason which is more due to when I finally found the term that explained everything, is that I no longer feel the pressure to be in a relationship (also romance repulsed btw, so that was interesting...), I know that I can be perfectly happy by myself, that something isn't wrong for not wanting a relationship, it's perfectly normal and human, and knowing this is one of the best and most reassuring feelings to have (also the flag is incredible!)

    As both an aromantic and a musician, I feel like my love for instrumental electronic music especially might have something to do with how often romance is the subject of many vocal songs. Romance in songs doesn’t usually bother me, but I find myself enjoying songs with little to no vocals that focus more on creating a mood a lot more. I also can relate to feeling strong platonic bonds with my friends and even just liking the flag. Being aro is pretty nice!

    I love being aroace because my entire life can be about myself. I hope that doesn’t sound too selfish, I still care about other people, I just mean that I can spend my income on myself. Like I don’t have to spend money on kids or a significant other!

    I like being aro because people know where I stand when they think I'm flirting with them. Before I used this label, I would just confuse people when having fun with friends. But now I can say. "I'm aro, so any romantic vibes you're getting from me aren't ones I'm intentionally putting out there" it's a good explanation

  • @turtrocx

    I loved being aro for so long ...rn I wish I wasn't .I have this amazing frind that I made the stronest connection with ever .She fell in love with me and I wish I can reciprocate .I know no one will love me like her , I know I will never make a friendship like the one I have with her. I tried so hard to make myself love, or even imagine a relashionship with her but I couldn't . being aro made me take and take without giving, not think of people's recation with my behavior and how carless I was in how I acted that gave them hope than there is a chance . now I hurt a heart and lost my best friend ...

    I have been questioning if I am aro for a while now and recently have found out that i am pretty sure I am. It’s a new thing to me but I’m trying to see this as a good thing for me and not bad. I like that I can experience that friendly platonic love strongly.

    I’ve been noticing how I’ve been aromantic and I’ve recently been noticing in college that I lack in romantic attraction especially in the past where I’m not into girls or guys even though I’m a boy irl tho I think having friends who are loyal is better than having a girlfriend or a boyfriend also I’ve got an ILS Educator though sometimes he’s like a brother but he can be a little intense like always saying things how girls are cute when he sees one while I get weirded out by it because it’s just that he’s also sexually harassing women while me as an aromantic person it’s just annoying what he’s doing also saying if I have a girlfriend when I’m talking to my friends because I’m just an aromantic person besides most of my friends are asexuals and aromantics because aromantic people also treat you like a best friend rather than a girlfriend or boyfriend

    How differenciate between platonic squish and romantic crush? 🙃

    • @missnaomi613
      @missnaomi613 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      After someone (one of my kids) explained it to me, I realized I've had both. If I forget something, or say it not-great, I invite correction...
      *With a crush, there's the feeling of wanting to hang around with the person. There's also wanting to be cuddly, smoochy, and maybe adult-fun-timey. I would add that there's a desire for a bigger, ongoing story.
      *I think a squish is the wanting to hang out together a lot. And maybe hug, if you're a hugger. But not all of that Other Stuff.
      I hope this is helpful/accurate. 🙏💚🤍🖤

    • @Starlight-yn4wl
      @Starlight-yn4wl ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me explain it to you like this: A crush is when you feel heat on the person, butterflies in your stomach, dream about the person and float on Wollke 7. A squish expresses itself differently, so different kind of butterflies and the whole rather different. When I was in love it was very different than a squish

Honestly the biggest reason I would want is partner is cause it sounds nice to have someone to complain to and share my interest in stuff like kawaii fashion,toys, and art. Also because I want someone to help pay rent lol.
    Things I enjoy about being aromantic are devoting my existence to art and my cat/and any other cats I own in the future.
    I wouldn't have to feel self conscious about not watching movies and shows, because other people manage the weird capacity of binge watching and I don't and I probably watch a few movies a year. It's exhausting and I hate forcing myself to watch things since I usually don't have the energy unless it's an easy to digest youtube vid.
    I really love art and my cat. She is my best friend and I love her more than any and every human.
