Thank you! This is an outstanding video. I just replaced my 2001 SR5 drivers side mirror following these steps. The old mirror was smashed by an incoming deer!
+Doug Crosby Thanks for watching. If any of our viewers needs to make this repair, we carry the replacement mirrors shown in this video on our website. Here's a link to them. www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/Toyota/Sequoia/1AMRP00515?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony
Doug Crosby wow luckily its just the miror
@clanbozz Thanks for swinging by and checking us out. Have a great day!
My side-view mirror was side-swiped by another car, but thankfully, all it did was knock the mirror out of the mount. I'm having problems getting it back on (it doesn't seem to be as simple as just popping it back). If you could help me out, that would be great. I've never been let down by 1A, so I've come to you first!
I was able to replace mine without removing the door card. Coaxed out the electrical connector from its push-in mount with a flat blade screwdriver, grabbed it with a needle-nose vice grips, unhooked the connector and because the vice grips had the receiver, it didn't fall down into the door panel.
EXCELLENT!!!!!! I know who to come to for parts and knowledge!!!! Thank you!!!!!
+Lewis Cox Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this repair. Depending on how it's mounted you might be able to just push it back into place.
Great video. I did exactly as shown but one warning, make sure you have the right mirror for the right model and year. All the mirrors (in a yearly sequence of same body types) appear to fit the opening but the Sequoia Limited (which I have) has heated as well as directional mirrors and the electrical connection is totally different.
I checked with a Toyota dealership and they wanted $450 to change it out and I couldn't find a matching mirror on-line for less than $300, so I just bought the $50 option and went old school and manually adjust it.
Otherwise,

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair.
Amazing! Can't imagine someone would share such money earning/saving techniques. I'm looking for some video to replace my side mirror in my 2010 Previa/Estima. The interior of the door in this video looks close to mine so now I have clues on how to work it out. Thanks!
It might not because the pinning might be different inside of the plug. We recommend purchasing a mirror that has the same options that your vehicle came with . 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
That was very clear and helpful, thank you!
I cant seem to find mirrors for my 02 SR5 Sequoia. I only need to replace the glass part. The issue im running into is no desription states if the replacement glass has the under glass mirror cutouts i guess theyre called. Do you guys offer a replacement glass with the blinker cutouts in the glass?
Good video hit you did not ha be to take off the door panel the connector is right there not down in your door. I should know I have one and I did not have but o take off the door panel. The only time you need to do that is if you disconnect the line and let the connector drop in the door. That is avoidable if you put something on the dnd before you disconnect it so avoid letting it fall in the door hole
Thanks for the video. I need to do the same for a 2006 Tundra LTD. Any videos for that? I really like your web site.
Do you sell any that are power folding?
Is the motor that drives the mirrors closed inside the mirrors themselves? or is there a motor elsewhere? My mirror seems to be going crazy unless I wedge the button slightly down. Very good video too.
+Randy Smith The mirror motor is inside the housing unit behind the mirror glass. Thank you for checking us out!
is it possible to just pop out my mirror if it is cracked or do i have to replace the mirror as well as the mirror housing?
Hello, is there a video to replace the 08 Sequoia(Limited) passenger side mirror?
If the mirror won't open anymore(via the internal switch) is the best bet to just replace the whole mirror?
We currently do not have an auto repair video for that particular year make and model. We'll keep this request in mind in the event that we need make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Did you test it out after putting back together? I am having the same pro Mel with my truck..
+Carlos Diaz Thanks for watching! Our mirror was fine in this case, the video is just to show you how to do it. You can simply plug the switch back in after the mirror is mounted and plugged in to test it out. That way if there is an issue you do not have to tear everything down again!
I have a 2011 Sequoia Limited. Is the process the same? And the mirror is the only part that is broken. The casing works fine and all the electrical works fine. The blinker comes on, folds in and out, etc. Do I still need to replace the whole thing or is it possible to just replace the mirror?
The limited sequoias mirror have 7 wires instead sr5 sequoia 5 wires
Thank you for this!
My 2001 sequoia mirror has a larger plug than the one sold on your site and shown in the vid. Is there an adaptor? Same number of pins, just a physically larger plug.
If it's a mirror that you have purchased from us, please call our toll free customer service line. We'll pull up your order and also go over your application to make sure that you have received the correct mirror. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thanks, this was super helpful. Quick question -- do you have to replace the entire mirror if its just the frame/casing around the edge of the mirror that is smashed? All the electronics work and the mirror functions fine, and the base piece that connects to the vehicle itself is fine. I was hoping just the frame piece could be replaced somehow?
Loving all your videos, you're definitely awesome! Thanks!!!
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately usually you can not get the casing separately. If the casing is broken usually you end up replacing the whole mirror.

My 06 Limited has power folding mirrors. I can’t seem to find them on your site. Do you sell them?
+Sam Haverstick it appears we do not offer mirrors for your Limited model. We do apologize for that.
Good job
I was wondering if i replaced my broken heated mirror with a non heated mirror if the connector would still work
Tks, very helpful.
Mine is a regular sr5 do I also have to remove the entire pannel
+Bryan Villa You might have to.
QUESTION FOR 1A
Our mirror has the extending gear always running, ( mirror unit won't extend out) BUT the actual mirror itself moves around with button command.
Can we just skip the door panel removal and switch out the outside mirror unit?
You may have to remove the door panel to access the mirror bolts.
Is there a way I can get the exact mirror
These mirrors have black detachable N36 CRV which can be exact painted to your car's body color. Or if it's still there, you can pop out your old mirror's skin and po it back to your new mirror.
My car's paint was Metallic shiny black.
The mirror was broke from the hinge and glass part was smashed.
It was literally hanging out from the connecting wire!
So, I replaced the new mirror but did not use the skin that came with it ...
Instead, I popped the old mirror's back open and refit it in the new mirror.
Everything's perfect but to replace the Toyota SR5 mirror, one doesn't have to open all the inside upholstery!
1. Just pop-out the black triangle that conceals the 3 bolts.
2. Pop the vanity cover and unscrew the nearby phillips screw.
(That will give access to the ONLY one wired connection ...which has only one latch.)
3. To put the new mirror with three new nut bolts, put the new wire pushing the latch until it clicks.
Voila!
And maybe replace the mirror's back if it's relevant in the equation.
No need to open all those hidden screws and assortments.
We do carry just the mirror glass for some of the Toyota Sequoias. They are on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I bough a mirror but when I put it on the car after I took everything off when I needed to connect them it wasn't a fit it was the same exactly like my old mirror but when it wouldn't connect the plugs it was smaller than the one I had the white tip of the connection the wire the mirror has
+Veronica Parra Thank you for checking us out. I would contact the vendor you purchased the mirror from and have them inspect their stock in comparison to your OEM mirror to allow proper installation. 1aauto.com
What's the purpose of disconnecting the battery? Something tells me that's step that can be skipped.
+Michael Miller We like to practice the old saying "better be safe than sorry"
Wow all this to replace that mirror
All this to replace a mirror. Jesus christ
Quick question, do I have to replace if the mirror just got bent in? My issue is on the passenger side neck of the mirror that sort of hinges in, Someone pushed it in and i pulled it out back into place, but it does not stay in place, the wind bends it right back in
