Reed Mullin - That one hit me hard. Huge COC fan, and I grew up learning drums to "Blind" and "Technocracy". I play drums like him because of it. Every time I saw them live, it was like watching my drum teacher. Rest in Power Reed.....
To all those who are affected by the passing of legends remember, they have been recorded in time and shall live forever young within these recordings. Rest In Peace and in our loving memory. ❤️
Hearing Eddie Van Halen passing away on Oct. 6th really broke my heart. Being a three-year-old child in 2000, hearing the first Van Halen album was mind-blowing and listening to their albums as well. Then now this. It definitely hurt my feelings to hear him passing away from cancer.
Let's take a moment and appreciate our huge fucking family within the scene of dark and heavy music. That's the way I often feel in this world of commerse and mainstream music; that the heavy metal community is my family. No matter where I go, I can always count on being met with friendship, kindness and an open heart by my brothers and sisters within this community. RIP to all of the legends and friends that has passed away. And to all that are still here: Keep on Rockin'! Much love and appreciation!!
I'm guessing the video was recorded before his passing. If this year wasn't bad enough there had to be one more death of a prominent metal musician. Two Cynic members in 1 year... :(
It hurts me to think that I won't be able to see Rush, just when economically I'm getting stable again they announced they won't be performing anymore, and then he passes away, it was heartbreaking man.
Sean's death was devastating as well, don't get me wrong. But as a drummer who fell in love with the instrument listening to Rush, was a huge blow. I'm from Argentina, and i got to see them in 2010 during the Time Machine tour. It was te first and only time Rush came to Argentina. I drove 800 km by myself. It turned out to be one of the greatest nights of my life.
Peace and comfort to all who knew them and to all they touched. May the all rest in peace and may their loved ones be blessed with comfort and serenity.
While i lean more metal and hard rock, John Prine was one of the premier artists of all time for me. Unfortunately, i feel he wasn't as recognized as Dylan, but way more appealing for me. Him and Eddie actually made me tear up.
Neil was supposed to be around for another 20 years. Writing books and shit. Being a dad... Being a husband. Being the former drummer of Rush. All these dudes are gone too soon. But to me, Neil is the most devastating. Been listening to him since 1977.
I wasn't expecting there to be so many ... I hope if there's a Heaven, they all get together and put on such a f*cking great show that we feel it here on Earth
I love that we spend countless hours debating what sub-genres people are and if a band is just rock, not metal, but we can all come together, all musical differences aside and honour the people that contributed to the genre. 🤘
Banger TV, the Metal community thanks you for taking the time & effort into producing such a moving tribute to those who passed away; may they all R.I.P ✝️✝️✝️
It is the saddest video Banger puts out but it is a nice way of paying our respect to those metal and rockers. I would like to pay my respect to two Brazilian death metal singers: Juarez Tavora, vocalist and bassist from Cirrhosis and Bruno Pompeo, vocalist and bassist from Voodoopriest.
Thank You so much for posting this video. These People made so many of Our lives better with thier incredible talents. We will miss them dearly and have thier gifts of music and talents forever in Our hearts.
Wow we lost alot of great musicians this year and legends that can never be replaced......makes me realize how old I am now.... May they all rest in peace and not go quietly into that night...

Fun, challenging and so glad I am able. Thanks to all the musicians that inspire me and to those who I have not heard. Keep playing ! Music Rules!
Didn't know about Martin Birch or Ennio Morricone. Two major contributors to music. Iron Maiden would not have been anywhere near as big as they were without Birch. Ennio Morricone is just an influence. May they both rest in peace.
RIP Neil Peart RIP Sean Reinert RIP Sean Malone RIP Riley Gale RIP Wade Allison. These deaths hit me the hardest. Especially the deaths of Wade and Riley being that I’m from TX and my close friends knew them. I never met both guys personally but saw both bands live multiple times. Seeing how sad some friends were made it more real. 2020 was the worst year
I was pleased to see that a friend of mine was mentioned in the video. I met Enrique Maseda back at Studio One in the early 90's. I think the last time I saw him was when NJ Bloodline played a reunion show in 2007. I was living in PA at the time, but was back in NJ for a family event.
So many lost their lives! Sad year 2020 was. Very hard to hold back the tears. Was great to see Ray Burton was included in this list 😎💔💔💔I read on Facebook about his dad passing. I hope all who lost their lives are resting in eternal life with family or friends that have gone before them 🖤💖
Хорошо , что Вы вспомнили не только тех людей , которых мы видели на сцене , но и тех , без чьего труда не обходятся даже самые наиталантливейшие музыканты - звукорежиссёры , продюсеры и т.д
still weeping on the passing of Jamir Garcia, from one of the most-influential bands in the metal scene here in the Philippines. Alexi Laiho still included on the list, breaks my heart also.
Dave Greenfield of The Stranglers. What a crushing year, so much talent gone, just think of all the great gigs in heaven right now and bugger all down here.
You can add Erik Loss from RUTAH..Northwest's quintessential, premiere Blackened DeathMetal band that set the standard for DeathMetal in Wa and the greater NW. RIP Erik Loss
I'm completely shocked: Donny Hillier died this year. Dear Donny, thank you so much for being the voice of Trauma and its great music. It will always be something I remember.
As much as I respect the memory of everyone included here, I feel I must single out Maiden's Maiden's erstwhile producer, Martin Birch for special mention. For without his influence on the said quintessential UK metal outfit, I wouldn't possibly be a subscriber to this channel. let alone listening to rock and metal in the manner I am today. From Maiden's Seventh Son influence at such an influential age (16), the dam suitably broke and all hell let loose. Thankfully, in a positive vein. That way, Neil Peart was able to mesmerise me through my debut Rush purchase, Caress of Steel - and many more through the intervening years. All long before Napstet and TH-cam rewrote the book on audio/visual distribution. So for their enormous contribution and all those who've left a sizeable musical legacy, a debt of gratitude is justly served.
I really appreciate that you put Ennio Morricone on this list.
Ditto that. You beat me to it. Legend.
Same for me!
Legend✊
I just made the exact same comment. He was definitely part of the community.
A lot of young looking people.
Riley Gale's death was absolutely devastating. So young and with so much talent yet to deliver. Rest in peace, friend
Neil Peart hurt me really deep. Rest Well to everyone we lost
Riley Gale was absolutely crushing :/
Agreed. Not just a great musician but a heart of fucking gold.
Haven't heard how Riley passed
@@metalslather no one did. Only update we had was he passed away sleeping.
Riley saved my life. I'm eternally grateful for him.
Still hurting.
The picture of Cliff's dad is fantastic...
I almost cried. Dude comment Johnny Utah. It is awesome :)
Man a lot of them are so young.
and all of them male
Dont do drugs...you will live longer
Old photos champ.
The hardest hit for me were Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen. Rest in peace.
Me too. Growing up on VH and Rush, that hit hard. Then closing the year off with Leslie West's passing. RIP legends!
We shared common idols, they were great and I still sense a big loss of their leaving.
OMG, Alexi Laiho.. I can't believe it.
RIP.
I suddenly don't feel anything
Reed Mullin - That one hit me hard. Huge COC fan, and I grew up learning drums to "Blind" and "Technocracy". I play drums like him because of it. Every time I saw them live, it was like watching my drum teacher. Rest in Power Reed.....
As a Rush long time fan, the passing of Neil still aches.
To all those who are affected by the passing of legends remember, they have been recorded in time and shall live forever young within these recordings. Rest In Peace and in our loving memory. ❤️
Neils passing absolutely crushed me what a wonderful role model and beautiful human RIP professor 🙏
Amen
Still tear up when I think of Neil Peart's passing. RIP Professor.

Add Leslie West to the 2020 list, RIP.
Crushing.
You forgot to mention Sean Malone of Cynic

Fuck I had no idea he died too.

What's happend to him?
@@ОлегШкуратов-п1р No one knows yet, nothing was released that I could find. So sad
These wonderful musicians, producers, engineers had one thing in common. The best genre of music. ROCK!
There were three particularly devastating for me. Sean Reinert, Riley Gale and especially, Neil Peart. Fucken miss Neil.
what about sean malone?
It hurts me to think that I won't be able to see Rush, just when economically I'm getting stable again they announced they won't be performing anymore, and then he passes away, it was heartbreaking man.

I am eternally grateful to the guy that cancelled on my sister, that allowed me to see Rush. So glad I got to do that.
And now in the beginning of 21 we have lost Alexi laiho😢😢
Rip alexi laiho

Cynic had and still has shit ton of potential

RIP Ken Hensley. A true founding father - very 'eavy, very 'umble.

Peace and comfort to all who knew them and to all they touched. May the all rest in peace and may their loved ones be blessed with comfort and serenity.
We'll meet again Rock & Metal Bros..
So many. Their music lives.
Not metal.. but John Prine’s passing hit me the hardest. RIP old friend.
While i lean more metal and hard rock, John Prine was one of the premier artists of all time for me. Unfortunately, i feel he wasn't as recognized as Dylan, but way more appealing for me. Him and Eddie actually made me tear up.
David Greenfield of The Stranglers hit me quite hard as well.
Yeh, losing John was a real crusher. My wife and I were fortunate enough to catch him live last December, very glad we did!!
R.I.P to Riley and Jamir. Your music will live on in our hearts forever.
RIP Alexi Laiho 😥😥😥

Thank you Banger for including Greg Messick. I sure didn't expect to see someone I personally knew and seeing his photo hit me like a ton of bricks.
And Leslie West of Mountain has just gone too, a band and a figure who contributed much towards what eventually gave us metal.
