Your writing skills are undeniable. This report is fantastic. Although I'm preparing for C1, this video is equally worth watching it. Thanks for sharing it with us! 😊
Last year I took the C1 exam and I picked the option to write a report. Not having practiced I just guessed what style I had to use, apparently guessing right. Got 206/210 for the writing part. Now it is time for the C2 exam tomorrow and if I am not getting the article option, I am probably going for report again. Just took a look at the article video and I feel it really suits my style. Your video’s are a lifesaver, since I once again have not practiced!! You’re the man
Thank you for providing invaluable information for us! I have a question: Is it acceptable to write the name of subheadings of the first and last paragraphs as simply "Introduction" and "Conclusion"?
Yes, absolutely. The subheadings are just there to tell the reader what the paragraph is about. There is no need for sensational titles as you might see on the news or in magazines.
Hi Phill, thanks for the video. I have a question, in the C2 exam can I just prepare for the exam writing only essays (which is easier for me) and avoid practicing the others (reports, articles, letters ) or is it mandatory to be good at all of them.
You need to keep in mind that you have to write two texts in the exam. The essay is mandatory, but you have to produce another piece of writing. In the exam, you get three options to choose form so yes, you should try to be good at all of them...or at least at a couple more than just the essay.
They are simply different exams that need different preparation. You should check with the university you want to study at which exam(s) they recognise. Cambridge exams are popular in Europe while IELTS is more common in English-speaking countries.

@@teacherphill thank you! Was fairly doable, not too different from C1 I feel. Probably max UoE score and rest all went okay

Don't we have to write to the start of the writing this ?

Subject
No, you don't have to do that. Just start with the text itself and you'll be fine. 👍
Greeting from Vietnam, nice to know you. How are you?
