I have heard many singers, many great singers. Nicolai Gedda created the class on his own. People say, look - "Pavarotti or di Stefano had much sweeter voices". I may say that it is not true. Nobody was as versatile creating so many levels of interpretation. I have known him whole my life. He was 45 years old when I was born. I have always known that he was a first-class tenor. I am listening to his recordings very systematically for the last few months. He completely crushed me. I would never believe that at my age I would cry listening to the singing of a Swedish singer. His incredible voice is a jewel of world classical music and all music in general. He proved the impossible, on the one hand, he can be softer than Gigli, on the other hand, he can resist Dame Joan Sutherland. He sings in all situations, others scream like jackals in the same parts. Everyone should know him. No one around me shares my enthusiasm. I sent it to people, pieces from that concert. I was labeled an annoying idiot.
You can tell he had come "home" in his soul and spiritual aspects of life with this concert. So special to see this kind of moment in a great artist's life. Thank you God for the gift of Nikolai Gedda.
Impeccable. could listen & watch Nicolai Gedda sing any time. He captures the Russian feel completely & with all this wonderful voice qualities. The best.
Natalia Bogatyreva His concert show why Russia and West Europe must be together. This fantastic choir and the mucicians and the unique fantatic voice and nice personality of Nicolai Gedda conquered us all with pure joy. And show us how much we like eachother. And we have had, and have shared the same history - somtimes in blood but mostly in peace. I didn’t understand one word, but it was wonderful to listen to the whole concert. Thank you for uploading this unique gem.

In the evening bells it sounds like there are 2 oktavists or atleast someone singing down the octave with him you can hear someone is singing the Ab1 with thier mouth open and someone else with their mouth closed (But thats just a theory)
I think Zlaty is back row - 7th from left - dark hair, big glasses - the bald guy is on his left. Too bad he can't be here now that his star has taken off.
Zlatopolski is back row - 9th from the right. No glasses on. He used to put them on while reading sheet music during concert. Thus he is in the center of the choir as it should be for basso profundo
I am sitting somewhere there in the balcony, 20 years old. Such a cherished memory...
Head voice for days- that’s Gedda. Not just power, but such sweetness and clarity of tone…

Русское хоровое пение , это такая душа открывается , что слёзы наворачиваются.
ゲッダの誕生が映像が登場した以降で本当によかった。人類の遺産的演奏。
I'm so happy that Gedda was born after movies invented. His work is a legacy of homo sapiens all.
GREAT VOICE...GREAT MAN...GREAT HEART! RIP
Nobody sang better than Gedda. NOBODY.
Il più grande di sempre...Nicolai inarrivabile tenore

Высочайшая культура хорового пения и дирижирования , куда все исчезло? Гедда бесподобен.
Неземной красоты голос Николая Гедды

Could we have list of songs? Можемо ли да добијемо списак песама?
you forgot the sweetest, bjorling
Recenty CD released
It's so touching.
Excuse my ignorance. What is this music about?
Partly Russian folk songs, and partly arias from various operas.
