They are accompanied by the Choir and Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, conducted by Lawrence Foster.
The gala in the Deutsche Oper Berlin (2007), held to benefit the German AIDS Foundation aids-stiftung.de, has for years been one of the cultural and social highlights on the German social calendar. Enjoy famous arias from operas such as “Il barbiere di Siviglia,” “La Bohème,” “La Traviata,” “Götterdämmerung,” “Die lustige Witwe,” “L’elisir d’amore,” “La sonnambula,” and “Werther.”

I still remember many performances with Matti Salminen as Hagen and Hunding. The sound he could create, the tension, the drama and authority was incomparable. A true black bass, perfect for Wagner. And what a joy to hear my wonderful Deutsche Oper hometown chorus.
