Hi mate, my lil bro want a good rc car, but he wants to go on road and off road, just wanted to know if there is any way to maybe change the tires or suspensions (sorry i really dont know rc cars) to make it and off road car
Love how these projects put a smile on your face! I'm also building a 124019 but I'm trying to get to 100mph on 3s. Currently on 86mph but the weather is crap over here and foams really don't like wet roads 😒
@@MatthewSimm th-cam.com/video/ZeQ7pb436Kg/w-d-xo.html This guy used a motor with a 3.2mm shaft with stock gearing but would he had to buy a 27T pinion with a 3.2mm hole or would the stock pinion work?
I just ordered my first 124019 along with metal gears $9.99, a brushless motor $27.99. a 2-4s esc also $27.99, motor mount for $9.99 and some smaller 3s lipos 2200mah for $29.69 for 2. Of em
@@MatthewSimm Both. I saw where you got 103 with a 7300kv ish. The gear pitch is 7 mod. Im needing to find some replacement gears in a more standard pitch. 32,48 but haven’t found anything yet
My max10 sct 4s cuts out a lot too with high kv motors, with a high C rated battery I can get a 5400kv motor running perfect but only ever got it to 94mph on 4s :/
@@MatthewSimm I have a wltoys, that I wish was a lcracing 1/12. I've got the truggy wheels, body, and wing. I put a racerstar 60amp esc and a 3900kv 3650, and of course a gyro Dumbo receiver. A lot of metal upgrades, which are a horrible fit, a good idea(maybe not) gone awry. Everything I've read or watched says lcracing is everything you want the wltoys to be. There's a carbon fiber version as well. If this scale is good for you, you should see about getting a lcracing model. Don't think you'd be unhappy with it.
I can confirm the tires are at fault, I've use them before with same result. The good foams are glued to a rim that has a flat surface, so the whole tire is secured, not just the edge like on normal rubber tires. The sad part about these wheels is the price... Good Contact foams cost about the same.
Yep! Very disappointing, that's why I I even link them. I think I paid $20aud 🤔 I use team corrally attack farms because they're easier to get here in Australia, never had a problem unless I caused damage before hand.
I've pulled down a fair few of these, it requires a lot of heat, I had my heat gun set to 350c and with a small nozzle, after that you need to make sure you use a screw driver that fits perfectly and use slow be decent pressure, I've only ever struggled when I didn't do this. It is a pain though so maybe I got lucky
@@MatthewSimm I personally don’t own any WL Toys cars, but what I’ve seen in vids they sure as hell don’t skimp on the red locktite 🤣😂🤣 and their screws must be a pretty soft metal
The tyres would have to be included I think or the car won't do 100mph will it? In fact there's not many stock RC tyres that will do 100 so no matter what car you get or have you'll most certainly have to buy new wheels. Maybe the challenge should just be to see who can reach 100mph for the least amount of money! 100usd or about £75 is probably not enough for brand new stuff 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's onky a challenge for the electronics, it's only for a bit of fun 😀 most people that are going to try this challenge will probably already have foams. 100usd for brand new electronics is enough, but not easy haha
Great idea but €100 is only £74.54 that will just about buy us the wltoys here in England never mind everything on top dumborc TX/RX &ESC/Motor combo 😬 would of got involved if the challenge was realistic for us here 🤷♂️ looking forward to seeing how you get on with the project yourself though 😎

Do most of the surpass motors work with the stock pinion gear from all wltoys motors?
Yes they do, any motor with a shaft diameter of 3.175mm will fit the stock pinion 😀

Thanks for watching legend 🙏
What donor car did those wheel knuckles come off of, and did you think it improved the handling?
From the 144002 and I'm not sure if it'll approve handling but I thought they looked cool and added some extra weight haha
What are the metal wheel knuckles your using off/from?
They are off my 144002 😀
Great project 👍 can't wait for the summer months over here in the UK to some more speed running. I've put my 124019 away for the winter months
We are just going into summer soon I can't wait, I have a few speed runs planned too, something bigger 😉
