@Nikita5621 Embed. Basically, the encrypted file is unpacked, an portion which is compressed but not hashed is found, the file is "contamined" with an trojan and re-packed. This is the method used by Free MC Boot to launch it's payload.
On Screen Display... Remember, SONY make things like Cameras, TVs and Video recorders... So OSD refers to the internal software that exists on such devices, as it's what gives information back to the user.
Can you show how you do this, I have PS2 30001 + HDD and the HDD OSD files, I know how to load it for the .elf file in ule but how to boot it, + how do you boot .elf's in the HDD OSD
A special modified version of Open PS2 Loader which is modified to display the PS2 logo screen is used. The logo data is loaded from the game ISO as it happens with the real games inserted on the disc drive.
@FeeLtheHertZ I'm in Brazil. I have 3 hard drives (1 retail and 2 devkit ones) but only one PCMCIA network adapter. The two spare (dev) drives I got from ebay but the retail kit came from Japan in 2002. I'd suggest you buy the devices on Yahoo auctions Japan through a proxy.
i would like to know how to install apps on the hdd after i install the hdd OSD, i can access the hdd from the browser but i cant figure out how to get the apps to show up on the drive
If you want to use the original HDD software on SCPH-30000 you need HDD Utility disc 1.00 (red jacket) and official SCPH-20401 SONY HDD. If you want to use normal HDD, there's hacked versions around the Internet. Use Google to find. May need modchip to use hacked version.
If you're using normal uLE and the game partition is password locked (most PS2 HDD games have password locked partition) uLE won't show anything inside of the partition. I posted a modified version of uLE that ignores password lock at PSX scene. You should be able to find it as "uLE hack"
I'll love to try the decrypted var if you have it. (My copy on my ps2 works just SLBB-00001 is not in it (Maybe uLE can not see it) and no disc0 to load.)
The "SLBB-00001" is encrypted with a key which is derivated from unique data on the HDD firmware. Since I still use that HDD with FFXI I cannot share the keys. So the file would be kind of useless for you if you cannot decrypt it. I don't mind sharing them but I won't give unique/identifiable data from my hard disk drive away. I happen to have it decrypted if it's interesting for you.

Is there a way to install it without formating the hard-drive?
Hi there, may I ask for your permission to use this video for a short few seconds to show the HDD OSD layout?
Sorry for my bad eng, but...
Before you starting the games, a PS2 logo appears. How did you do that?

Awesome feature. Where i can get this?

HD Loader does not work with PCMCIA HDDs but
Open PS2 Loader (OPL) does.
