Many of the Vietcong soldiers were kids. That’s what haunts many Vietnam veterans including my uncle who suffered horribly from the effects of Agent Orange and still suffers. That line “they spit on me in my homeland” angers me to no end.
Yeah. They hated the vets from the Vietnam War when a lot had no choice but to be there. They should be spitting on the government not the shoulders who went in and had to suffer as well.
War sucks- Vietnam was HORRENDOUS.... Jerry Cantrell the guitarist wrote this song about his DAD'S EXPERIENCE. HIS NICKNAME WAS "ROOSTER"..... Good reaction!!! 🌸
Air Born Screaming Eagles 101st Airborne Division Vietnam. They do not know what an eagle is. So they called them chicken soldiers and the true killers were called ROOSTERS. Nicknames are given or earned never chosen.
They would send women and children in to the American camp's and they would kill us be loded with bombs. Such disrespect for our soldiers when they came home
The 101st Airborne division aka the screaming eagles. The Vietnamese didn't know what an eagle was so they refered to the soldiers as roosters. (Snuff means to kill) The verse got my pills against mosquito death is refering to how many of the soldiers contracted malaria from mosquitos in the vietnamese rainforest. My grandpa was a vet and was in the Vietnam war. He contracted malaria my father told me he found my grandpa on the floor seizing unable to reach his pills so he had to get them for my grandpa. Many were also effected by agent orange. As a matter of fact even some future generations are affected by it. The verse they spit on me on my homeland is about how many people were protesting the war at the time so once soldiers got back from the war they were treated horribly. Many of the soldiers during the Veitnam war were teenagers so as you can imagine those who survived came back traumatized. The song is also referring to the horrible things many of them were made to do. Of course at the time they were all drafted so they didn't have a choice anyway.
