- I made this video because I figured a lot of people may not know that some popular songs are actually covers/remixes etc. of their originals, so you can learn something from it! Praying YT doesn't block it because of copyright 🙏

Another example of human songs being more popular is the bad girl online cover by Oktavia.
The gacha and daganrompa are to blame due to trends but the cover has over 8m more views than the original by wonderful opportunity that uses Rin.
The numbers are still going up, despite the cover artist's attempt to push people to the original song. Currently the cover is at 9.7m and the og is at 1m

Also fun fact. The original version of rugrats theroy was lost media at one point. It is currently partially found as the pv is missing but not the audio.

I barely see people mentioning the OG, I've seen more people talk about the MEIKO version so I felt like a lot of them don't know about the original. I personally prefer the OG, because in my opinion Miku's gentle voice fits the tone of the song better, but tuning in the MEIKO cover is gorgeous
@@silverlifegiver this is my alt account but, I think it's got to do with the fact that as a song, the snow White princess sung by Miku got more views but the Meiko cover made a stronger impact on the Vocaloid community, if that makes sense (and as well as giving us Meiko fans the validation we deserve for being Meiko fans as the song provides a great example of what Meiko can do (don't even get me started on the Meiko justice guy, the tuning makes her sound so much more mature))

You could include The Chattering Lack of Common Sense by Ghost, too. The new version has a few millions of views while the old one is... well, deleted. And I assume new Ghost fans don't even know about its existence

actually there are two old versions of chattering! the one you're probably thinking of is unlisted on ghost's channel. the second one has different mixing and tuning.

Ghost has been making music since early 2013 under other names, and deleted many old songs. Used to collect them when I was younger, but they seem to have a disliking to reuploads, so I don't know if it's fine to show briefly in the video

Probably since IAs voice gets kinda swallowed by the music and you can barely hear her, so more like the more powerful sounding ver of flower :] (me including tbh, had trouble actually understanding IAs singing)
Also the more popular-powerful version is imo more fitting for the song's meaning‼️

Since Entomologists was mentioned (fantastic song btw!), I'd also like to bring up Ghost's Japanese remix of Creative with Rana and Piko (originally by Creep-P with Avanna and Kaito)! Both are great, but I believe Ghost's version is more popular.

For the “human cover being more popular than Vocaloid original”, I would like to mention Love Ka by Hiiragi Kirai.
While the original one, which was sung by VFlower, has an impressive 14,000,000 views, the Ado version has a whopping 45,000,000 VIEWS!
I always liked the original better though, the way Flower is tuned makes it charming, but Ado's is good too.
Fr tho, I think ados growl suits the song since flower is known for her growls in her voice bank :3

Truly some of the most underrated composer and voicebank, respectively.
Thankfully niki have got some spotlight here and there lately, from composing Towa's first original song to getting commisioned to do an original song for Proseka.

Also not a popular song but a funny example- the song ‘My Name is Sonika’- which won the Sonika song writing competition- was originally sung by Sweet Ann- as the producer didn’t own the Sonika voice bank at the time.

an example that i have is World's End Umbrella by Hachi, the version with the mv made by Minakata Laboratory is actually a remix, the original version is more "raw" sounding and has a mv drawn by Hachi using a mouse!

Guys look into the producer, he makes amazing stuff. All of his songs are so good and his tuning style is so fun. Kurage-P has also started singing his own stuff!! He has a great voice
This video just makes me feel old cause i knew a bunch of the originals and im p sure it was cause i knew them before the cover blew up.
Also! Playing diva helped me find a few of these, its how i figured out electric angel was a miku song, cause they only have the originals! Same with Nyanyanyanyanyanya

As far as other examples, the only one I know off the top of my head is Therefore You and Me; the Eve cover is far more well-known than the original. I think Miyashita Yuu’s cover of Wozwald might be another example, though I’m not sure of that one - it at the very least got so popular that the song’s creator did an official version with him, though!

What about “Rabuka”/“Loveka?” by Hiiragi Kirai? It was originally sung by the Vocaloid flower, but a cover by human singer/utaite Ado has more views
Both versions were released simultaneously, so they're technically both the original

I legit thought the original was Ado, until i learned it was a vocaloid/utau original (flower) A lot of songs i listened to happened to be vocaloid/utau covers lmaooo (Ne ne ne for exmaple, i listened to the one by Kinsen (known for making such covers) and Maiojiang first)
iirc rabuka was actually made in collaboration with ado and both versions were released at or around the same time. bocca della verita might be more apt here, but id say the original for both of those are probably more well known than most of the other original songs featured in this vid
Technically the one at 9:22 is actually not the original touhou remix being referened, Kero⑨destiny is the original, ⑨destiny "It's always Cirno's turn" is a parody of their earlier song kero⑨destiny

Ooohh!! Another example of a vocaloid song that has a much more popular human english cover is an amazing song called “Bad girl online”
The original was sung by Kagamine Rin and was produced by “Wonderful opportunity!” In 2014 (Keep in mind that two vocaloid producers make up wonderful opportunity, and only one producer from the duo, “Minus-P” actually wrote the song.)
Then, in 2017, someone called “Oktavia” on youtube did an english cover of this song, which gained massive popularity later on (it has almost 10M views) and greatly surpassed the original (which has only 1M views.) Most people believe the cover is the original, and was from/about danganronpa, but neither of those were ever true. (Sorry for the long infodump!! And i only just realized after posting this comment that someone already brought it up hh)

Housewife radio had about 3 or 4 different versions though and they were all deleted so it'd be kinda hard to figure it out
