"Yeah there are multiple boats in this area for no well explained reason" It's a rocky shore Jon, they crashed. And you missed the second chest by the treasure chest. Shit, Jon, get it together.
Bailey Alexis Snow Theres even more too it. If you explore the coast you find a light house were things have gone a tad wrong... and since its not working that further explaining all the shipwrecks.
Several hundred septims worth of gems and jewelry, a solid gold statue, a bunch of gold ingots, and like 150 loose septims, Yeah, Jon, totally bad deal. Plus whatever was in the other chest.
I think at this point it just goes without saying that Jon'll miss something directly in front of him, he'd probably miss it even if it had Big Lit Up Fluorescent Pink arrows pointing to it
i reckon he's gonna survive until the penultimate episode, Jon is gonna marry him, and then on the way out of the chapel he'll get eaten by an ancient dragon.
The "Dwarven ruins" you saw at the entrance to Labyrinthian aren't Dwarven ruins, the symbol on the compass was for a shrine or temple, like the shrine to Azura. The one you saw is, PROBABLY, the shrine to Molag Bal, one of the best places ever to farm in Skyrim.
27:22 Jon, did you really just totally ignore the other chest which was right next to the big one? I know your perception is basically non-existent but I can't wrap my head around this one at all...
Jon looked at the treasure map with a blatant statue of talos and the crypt being on the right of the map, goes to the right of the crypt thus putting it on the left and goes straight to a boat despite there not being any boats on the map. This is why we invest in perception kids.
For me this quest is what resulted in the death of J'Zargo it appears I accidentally killed him with my fireball and chain lightning spells I thought he was just missing until I found an ash pile in Winterhold that had a Whiterun shield which I thought was strange until I remembered I gave on to J'Zargo

I think the "winterhold is under attack" bit is a good idea, with horrible execution, it would probably be better if it opened a small portal to oblivion and simply summoned a hoard of scamps.
Pressthebigredbutton One could argue that Mundus is just another realm of oblivion ya know :p. In elder scrolls everything is part of oblivion or connected too it. Hell even the sun is just a giant oblivion hole/portal, one that Magnus (as in eye of) created when he left.
no but i mean in the sense that its not a gateway between places nor has it shown to be that in any real way. rather it harnesses aetherius and forms those anomalies out of pure magic. so again i disagree with your change but agree there would have been a better change to implement
Listen, it was an example, I understand the eye of magnus has nothing to do with oblivion, they make that reasonably obvious in the quest itself. But what attacked winterhold sucked. We got overleveled Whisps. that's it. If they had the time to get creative a giant, magicka golem or something would have been more interesting. But I was talking in terms of what they had availible before release. fighting those things sucked the biggest of schlongs. And I would have taken Dremora or even giants over them.
Who thinks it would be awesome to watch Jon do a Dark Brotherhood run with this character after the mages? He never does the killing himself, it's always second hand. Call it, "Plausible Deniability"!
At the end of the College questline, when you get the Arch Mage clothes from the quest you can go upstairs and on the shelf at the foot of the bed is another version, but without the hood -- it exists in the game code, but Unofficial Skyrim Patch makes it spawn in the correct location so you will have two style options with the same gear
Day 9 of being stuck in Jons comment section: Appeared in a livestream today, it was bloody weird... In my 'visit' there I found some French woman who had a great dislike of people yelling, PANIC!
Be fair, it was a beautiful livestream. PANIC, so many strawpolls and the war to end all wars..... Actually you're right it was a very strange place today!
From the wiki: "The map is very misleading. Once at water level, head directly west from the College of Winterhold to a rather flat peninsula that appears to have a path going up it. Walking to either side all the way around the peninsula will reveal a large statue of Talos, and below that on the ground should be the treasure. The peninsula is just southwest of Ysgramor's Tomb. Another way to find the treasure is to stand by the beached rowboat at Pilgrim's Trench and look southeast."
easier to explore underwater when you find a helm enchanted with water-breathing (normally i would disenchant and put on a light hat for utility purposes); plan b is the spell version or potion
Hi Jon, noticed you haven't added many mods recently. I'd recommend Wet and Cold. It's a simple mod that gives NPCs hoods and cloaks when it rains or snows. It also slightly lowers your movement speed during harsh snow storms.
You might want to try hitting Ironbind Barrow. At the end there is a battle axe with fiery soul trap on it that you can break down. more fire damage and soul trap to go well with the new items you've picked up.
I would recconmend you take a look at the standing stone left of solitude close to the thalmor embassy, it can and will make your experience a bit better, also you might want to have a look at the pickpocketing skill tree for 100 bonus carry weight.

Skill enchantments increase your skills: One Handed, Two Handed, Destruction, Alchemy, etc. Corpus Enchantments: Boost the three bars (Magicka, Health, Stamina,) or boost your carry weight.
Jon, please marry Benor. You two have been to Oblivion together, and you deserve each other. When he's down, you're always there to heal him back up. He's seen you at your best and defended you at your worst. Now, seal the deal and make him a husband! I wanna make my "Husband and wife Adventure hunters" Jokes already!
Spoilers, as is obvious, but this does happen. Go to episode 54 to see it, it's called Labour of Love and other stuff happens. If you don't want to be spoiled of the other stuff, then don't read on. Anyway, Jon finds Benor with another lady (the lady in the Riften house) and kills him on the bridge of the Winterhold area. It's very dramatic and many people hold it as one of MATN's best videos, so I recommend you watch it nonetheless. It's great. Sorry I'm terrible at describing things.
fire damage does do more damage but frost is nice as it slows targets, effectively acting like a toned down paralysis. Can be good to keep an enemy at bay, though I rarely upgrade it myself
In case you haven't realized it yet, the "black soul gem (grand)" that you pick up sometimes are filled with human souls. The grand is the size of the soul. White souls, from creatures other than humans or mer (just not falmer) will never go into a black gem, so far as I know.
Shock is mostly good because there are relatively few things immune to it. Fire is not much good against dark elves, frost isn't very good against Nords, and no dragons and few other creatures resist shock. On the other hand, few creatures have a particular weakness to it. It's the second best against nearly everything.
Maybe too late for this to matter, but that book you found goes with Brand-Shei in Riften. He's looking for his lineage or something. He's the one you end up putting in jail to join the Thieves' Guild. AND THANK YOU FOR FINALLY USING BECOME ETHEREAL! :D
Jon: *Misses second chest*

5 years later, I come down to the comments, knowing someone will understand my pain.

Lyinar Baeldeth so what's actually in the second chest?

But...but...but there were two chests.
Shhhhh, just let it go.
Benor?
Benor Benor, Benor.
Benor!
Benor.. Benor.
Also, Benor.
Maybe if he stayed close-by I wouldn't have to keep flipping calling him. BENOR!!?
Benor!
There's gotta be a compilation of him saying benor
Jon, you should always use heal other instead of healing hands. It's much more time and magicka efficient.
When he tried that last time he kept healing the enemy instead of his ally. He can't miss with healing hands.
you actually can, it's just a lot harder.
Several hundred septims worth of gems and jewelry, a solid gold statue, a bunch of gold ingots, and like 150 loose septims, Yeah, Jon, totally bad deal. Plus whatever was in the other chest.
I was rubbing my temples veeery slowly at that point...
I've been playing a mage run lately, but I've avoided going to the college so far because I want to impress Jzargo with my awesome destruction skills.
Fun fact, the magic anomalies are the ONLY enemy that levels with you FOREVER. How down to your new king, Karstaag.
The only fun thing about them.
you missed a second chest 26:26
And at 35:32 in the ship. And when Jon start looking down his nose so heavily at gold?

"a Day late and a dollar short" - you learn a lot of idioms when watching Jon.
these treasure maps are always horribly drawn. I don't know what you expected.
I think Bethesda used the same voice editing method for the dremora as they did for Fawks. Sounds similar anyways.

Celltosis one can only pray
Not a clue, but he's managing so far
i reckon he's gonna survive until the penultimate episode, Jon is gonna marry him, and then on the way out of the chapel he'll get eaten by an ancient dragon.
No he only levels up to 30.
Yes. With assorted raise dead spells.
Can someone make a Mod for Jon that makes all the chests in game glow bright red? That way he can't miss the damn things.
I'm sure he still would miss things 😂

Jon the book on the ship is related to a dark elf in Riften.

It was!
I like how Jon doesn't consider finding hundreds of septims worth of cold bars as treasure.

Jon, the reason you want Frost and Storm enchanter as well is for Chaos enchantments.
Jon, if you do the Goldur Amulet quest you get a really good amulet at the end of it that increases Magic, Stamina and Health by 30 points each.
I never seen that magical artifact hand thingy with the rings. Cool! :)
Water breathing potions 😂 You can make a water breathing ring or necklace with a petty soul gem.
