"He was a poor boy from a poor family." I died! 😂
It's like they say, you don't know what you've got, until it's gone!
You paved paradise and put up a parking lot *oooooh bop bop bop* 😂
That’s a good question, what is that part of my brain that stored everyone’s phone number doing now?
mine is doing the same thing,i still remeber those numbers to my childhood friends - even if i havn't used them in 35 years
The power of repetition!
GenX
Babyboomer here. I have a cellphone but does anyone else still have a landline? I just can't let mine go. And to my delight many family, friends & past co-workers from decades gone by call & when I answer they say," I just had to see if you still had this number. It's in my phone book or on a piece of paper & never forgot it" (lol)🤗💗
@@2004mojo i have.. cant get rid of it
@@hedning003 Yes! I'm not alone. (lol)
The Richard Scary scene of a street got me in the feels…I loved those books.
This babyboomer loved to watch the animated series on cable in spite of having no children/grandchildren.
@@2004mojo we did not have children either…. I regretted it for a long time….now at 55 not so much. Saturday mornings were fun. It is funny to think I used to watch Morgan Freeman on The Electric Company.
@@toddylu6869
(we did not have children either…. I regretted it for a long time….now at 55) Hey, me too! Made up for it with the neices ,nephews ,great-neices, great-nephews & all the godchildren. I still ride roller coasters with them. Ask if their parents ever did. Nope! (lol) At 70 I don't think there's a children's show or network I can't name.
But I know! I know! "Deep Impact" would be on tv & I'd yell out-Morgan Freeman! He was "Easy Reader"
on "The Electric Company". Same with "The Shawshank Redemption" & so many other & of course "The Lego Movie". (lol) Hey you Guys!!!!" Still remember the theme song too.
Loved those candy cigarettes 😅
And no matter how many I ate, I never felt the burning need to actually smoke. Adults think all kids are dumb.
I remember we had the cigarette chocolate in Japan...long time ago.
All us kids had them
And those wax bottles with the juice inside… or the awesome wax lips you could wear and eat. LOL
@@toddylu6869 loved those bottles, i'd chew that crap all day afterwards.
1:42 Trying to remember passwords.
5:56 Had a Geography teacher like that. There would often be a moment when someone would ask a question (sometimes deliberately) and she would go off on a tangent (always interesting) and we would all hope she didn't catch herself until the class ended. 😁
My 10th grade geometry teacher was a Vietnam Vet, who actually loved talking about it. You bring up the war and it was guaranteed we weren't learning shit that day, which also meant no homework!
Lol when Jazz pissed off Uncle Phil 😂
The Nostalgia on a Level Infinity! 😭😭😭
Is it just me this morning? I was actually cracking up at some of these. At 65, some are just too funny.
Getting old here but i remember this all
As I age, I am thankful that I am old enough to not only remember this stuff, but that I got to live it in real time.

In a 70’s UK Primary school we have made to do Country dancing 💃 🕺 😂
At Christmas Parties ? 😂
We were taught square dancing...which I think is peculiar to the US. It was a lot of fun & I danced that style for years!😊
Same in my french nursery school.
We were taught square dancing in junior high gym class. I got the idea it was teaching us how to socialize, to listen, to remember & coordination, as well as learning about other styles of dance. Did it come in handy? Yes. I loved the square dancing scenes done in Andy Griffith, The Beverly Hillbillies, I Love Lucy etc. Good memories of class. Then came Billy Ray with his Achy Breaky Heart.(lol) 💗
In my first school, it was Scottish country dancing
The Tetris one blows my mind 🤯
Me too!!
Richard Scarry! Loved this books and poured over them for hour upon hour…
I get these, feeling every bit my age.
Fuckin eh that was the best 12 minutes of my life .thank you 😂😂
Used to get those personal pan pizzas for reading so many books at school. That was when the adults would still get a pitcher of beer with their pizza
Well, I like ELO, so I guess I've been singing "I wish I was back in 1981" - since 1982!
9:56 We have that exact clock and it works perfectly!
I was gonna say, I bought that exact same clock in 2012 😂
That’s why they don’t have them any more, they still work, if they don’t break in two years they won’t make them, no profit in that.
@@july8xx Yes! Everything today is built to break / fail.
Buy it, it breaks, replace, repeat.
I miss the good old days when things were built to last 😢
I think my dad still has the same one, but he probably bought it in the 70s or early 80s
my dad would of been pissed with all the bikes on the lawn!!!lol
In the 60's grammar school I remember hiding under my desk for an air raid drill.
I still have that alarm clock and it has never let me down, when there isn't a blackout.
I remember the Pizzahut pizza's to be a LOT bigger when I was young.
Mmm, ham and cheese or turkey and cheese sandwich after swimming for hours as a kid in the neighbors pond or swimming pool. Nothing was better. ❤
Except when you had one in the beach…I still remember that sandwich. I’m 55.

Funny, heartwarming AND reminiscent😢😅.. Good stuff y’all 🤎!!
2:57 Indeed. We have entered a new prudish age, just like the Puritans or the Victorian era. Even the dog in this pic is an exaggeration, PG today is more like a stuffed dog-like pillow.
That was a great video. Thank you for sharing. I was born at 71 and so of course I know all of that, and had most of it.

All i have and use is an old black rotary phone. I find it amusing when grandchildren dont know how to use it.
I also continue to enjoy my collection of cassettes
Yeah... I still don't get the idea of the whole "Square Dancing" bit either. 52 now an still.. 😀
0:27 When music was music, you should say.
So good, thank you! I remember using 2 fingers to dial my besties number on that rotary phone- so many failed attempts! It was just easier to run next door to get her❤
❤❤ I'm in my 70s now and remember all of this video thanks for sharing 👍 😊

Now this was just a nostalgic treat...
The kids exploring ancient ruins had me.
😆 You ain't lying!
I still use a digital clock radio like that old one but mine has a chunk of the plastic missing from the time I chucked it across the room in a fit of rage because it woke me up on my day off.
What a video, i love the person who created it
You showing your age when you know which one is Hall & which one is Oates
😂I thought they were gay 🤣😅😂
@@clarenceghammjr1326 I never thought of them at all
Trivia: I just read this today. The guys hated being called Hall & Oates. They wanted to be referred to as Daryl Hall & John Oates to be seen as individuals. My question now is why didn't they simply make that officially the name of the act on their albums??
@@2004mojo poss the s0ftc*ck nature of their music carried over into the creative control of everything to do with their act. Prob record exec's decision not theirs

That scene from Signs also haunted me and still doe's 😄
5:27 My family and I, back in the sixty's made it a point to ride on every chairlift we came across in Europe! I miss the old days!

Funny how you have to find insult just to hear your own head rattle...good luck in life.
"I wonder what part of my brain that used to store peoples phone numbers is doing now"
with the rotary phone! 😂
That IS TRUE! You had to have so many peoples phone numbers memoized by heart at all times really because nobody walked around with a personal phone book. Well, some people I knew had a little book with phone numbers written down in it but not many people, those were like important business people with lots of non personal contact numbers that did that.
I actually do wonder what that part of my brain is doing now!!!! Did it just die off completely????
omg!
10:00 no kidding. I picked one of these bad boys last year from Goodwill. It works like a champ.
Wait...George Lopez is on Nik at night now? When I was watching Nik at Night it was Mary Tyler Moore, The Dick VanDyke show, Mr. Ed...what the hell happened? Now George Lopez is old enough to be on Nik at Night?! I feel more old than I did wjen the video started

Willie Nelson omg so perfect
Poor Columbia House REALLY belived in the honor system and we just railroaded em into bankruptcy!! I feel bad about it now 😔
:20 Yeah, you had to spend money BEFORE you knew the album sucked.
Which is now a cult classic album that fetches hundreds or thousands of dollars because even the worst 80's music is better than just about everything from this century!
We bought a album after we heard it on the radio of better yet copied it on our cassette decks off the air then made mix tapes .
Please tell me the picture of the ski lift is not real. There’s absolutely no way they didn’t have a bar or anything on the seat!! That’s insane!!
The 80s were great. Unfortunately we spent too much time looking to the future, we enjoyed the time but we had no idea how great it was. We thought the future was going to be awesome and tried to prepare for it. We started recycling, made changes so the ozone layer could heal, every school buried time capsules and we fantasized about what the world would be like after Y2K. We thought the Berlin Wall coming down was a sign of people coming together and bringing an end to the things that divide us, wow were we wrong about that. It’s no wonder most of us seem a little grumpy.
6:07 that's not the past, unless you mean 2006?
There's a lightning McQueen plushy on the floor
Every home should have a desk which will protect you from the blast of a thermonuclear device.

that's more of a boomer bomb shelter ;)
(look up "Duck and Cover" ^ç^)
7:34
always loved when Uncle Phil (RIP James Avery) threw Jazz out like that :D (happened not enough imho ^ç^)
Come up in the 50s , never heard of 'population control'- hell, we done already did that.
We still have that radio alarm clock and it works just fine. Not one thing wrong with it.
Surprisingly, the technology i always have the most trouble with is the most recently made, and the technology i have the least trouble with has rust stains older than I am. Maybe they are trying to make things do too much and are sacrificing the life span of it instead? Either that, or they are being designed to fail faster so you spend more money.
Pizza Hut, you hit the nail on the head. I remember those exact things happened many nights. I miss 1983
Willie Nelson and the gang. Dad is this a civil war artifact. No just a tape cassette that someone got tired of rewinding.
Much better than the lame candy cigs, we’re the gum cigs. Smoke and all.
Why can’t we just go back 🙁

The Hall & Oates one hurt a little since . Hall is suing Oates regarding Oates business deal to sell his share of the partnership. Hall says he needs his permission to do it.
1:33 I had this book as a kid! In German! Loved it and still have it... somewhere...

4:12 why do you believe that apostrophes play a part in plurals? You were never taught that.

@@farqman OH! Of course! I see it now. Thank you!
About the car window thing---no, today's kids grow up turning yesterday's cars into their hobbies. Plenty of them know the way of the window roller and view it purely with nostalgia.
Don't be daft
@@VMM34 Don't be a jackass
I’m told that the basic model Romanian car Dacia Duster has the “nostalgia” (and common sense) safety feature of roll down windows. …..hoping it also has CD player.
@@catherinehamer5653 If not, there are workarounds. I think there are gizmos that plug into 12v sockets, take CDs and have little transmitters so that you can actually transmit music from a CD to your car's radio.
And at what minute were we supposed to laugh?🤔
Hint: For the bomb shelter purchaser…. That was the Boomer generation - we Gen Xers brought down the Berlin Wall, got rid of Apartheid and got the major nations to get rid of as many atom bombs as possible - in the hope of a more peaceful world. (Doesn’t look like our kids are doing the same though unfortunately.)
Really? Who do you think is in power? It’s not the kids of the adults from the 80’s, it’s still the kids from the 80’s. Just a lot older and unwilling to let go of power. I’m a gen x’er and I don’t see anyone my age doing anything good right now in power. They’re all doolally.
Why are you insulting the generation after you? Did you like it when the previous generation did that to you?
Gen-X here: Well actually we lived in constant fear of nuclear annihilation, had our own keys at the age of seven and later worshiped the dark queen (aka Winona), have had our own anthem (thanks Kurt) and developed an attitude of „I don’t care. I’m gonna help myself.“
@@aek5797 Maybe in the USA. Here, in South Africa some of us tried to make a difference - which did not include hiding under a desk like our parents’ generation. ;)
I'm guessing ann is from Europe because yep that is exactly what we did 😉
This video is part of the problem...
bad clickbait
No it's not. It's exactly what it said it was. Did you even watch? 🙄
Some of these memes include boomers teasing and insulting our generation. For example, the one where they say kids think they’re smart but they can’t solve some thing off an old car (don’t even know what that thing was and don’t care) is just ridiculous. Our technology is smarter than your old technology. We got better, faster cars now, that includes better sounding radio stations, comfier seats, longer distances, etc. They’re just jealous that technology is getting better, so they decide to take their anger out on us poor kids who simply just happened to be born in this generation. It’s not like we chose to be in this generation or anything! Now what boomer wants to fight me in the comments? LOL
It’s ok, easy times made weak men.
That “thing” is an analogue radio, engineered with mechanical buttons that physically moved the tuner to the preset station. Pretty slick.
Like a quasi-manual CNC if that helps.
What you have now is a dumbed down easy-peasy world of IC chips on everything.
Don’t fret, you’ll be drafted to war soon…those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it.
That’s fine if you wanna live the hard way. I’m enjoying living an easy, breezy life.
Well, as an X'er, I can tell you that most of those technologies were developed by Boomers.
And also as an X'er, we were probably responsible for the establishment of a lot of foundational social media.
So sorry about that. Our bad😣
Your reaction confirms what they said 😂
It is all old school at some point… just wait.
That was a bit harsh about Mr. Simmons. I mean, was that really necessary?? Not very funny vid 👎
