That blanket had me crying as soon as I finished reading it. If I was that man's wife I would wrap myself in it every night.
Seemed to be a bit of a guilt trip beyond the grave for her possibly finding another man to live out the rest of her life with.
If it were me and my wife, I'd cherish it. Very touching.

@@jamesrosenbaum120 What's sour is condemning a loved-one to continue a life of solitude just because a dying person can't bear the thought of their spouse possibly finding happiness with someone else when they're gone.
@@PhantomFilmAustraliaSugar, no guilt tripping there. The man was not right in the head at the end (memory issues).
And if his wife finds this troublesome or burdensome she wouldn't share this with the world. I doubt that a blanket will stop someone from seeking a partner if they decide one day to have one after their deceased partner. But I'm sure, at a low moment in life, for whatever reason, she needs to face something alone or need just that emotional support to get her through a rough patch, that blanket will be handy.
I remember Katherine Switzer running, 👍👏👏 so proud of her, then and now.

Love the cat letting it's owner know it's happier withtheir mom. I used to run a small shelter for elderly cats in my home. Most of them weren't used to living in a group, but they'd usually get used to it fairly quickly. Lots of times when I went to visit one I'd recently rehomed, they'd react exactly like this and I understood that it was because they were happy where they ended up and didn't want to go back with me. It made me happy to see them happy.

Good on you! Many just don’t care, and just want to be finished but as with the original tattoo, a mismatch is pretty permanent. She would use the fancy closures for minimal scaring learned from the plastic folks. Just a little extra care that was always appreciated.
Thank you, Doctor! My surgeon carefully cut around my tattoo for my gallbladder surgery, and his face was hilarious when he removed the pressure dressing and showed me his work. Great guy!

lol re. the seniors discount - I'm a few years short of qualifying but I often get asked if I want the seniors meal at the RSL club I go to for meals (hey, a discount is "saved" money)
I'm 52 and starting to get annoyed that I don't qualify for "senior" stuff. Lol.
Currently, I'm looking for a new living arrangement. (Some health challenges have rendered my house impractical, sooooo...)
I keep seeing really nice, well priced, modular or mobile homes - pristine, remodeled, etc. - then I read the 'About' tab and it's in a 55+ Community.
(Also, they have HOAs which I'm 100% not a fan of, so there's that, too.)
I just want a nice little place away from snippy people. Lol, I'm quickly earning my CURMUDGEON badge, though.

7:11 My wife was a surgical technologist/first Assistant, and mostly worked on heart surgeries. She’s also a lifelong sewing fanatic. When there was an incision through a tattoo, the docs would get her to repair the skin, as she would preserve it flawlessly.

Im always grateful with how hard doctors try to make incisions hidden. Had to have a benign tumor taken off my jaw and he made the incision follow my jaw line so the scar is invisible
And when I had my gall bladder taken out several years after my appendix surgeon reopened my old scars to avoid giving me new ones
@@thatfuzzypotato1877 Practice, practice! There is a rotation with plastic/reconstructive surgeons, where skills are taught beyond the basics, but it must be used to retain the expertise. It may take slightly longer, but the better results nmay be a benefit.

I had 2 ovens ! 3.6 years living there! NO, I didn't care what was below the oven I was using. I didn't need that space and I've got enough to clean LOL

Not in my experience. I've personally tested it plus by the time I've scrapped plates etc, washed and rinsed and packed things away it's far quicker and less damaging to glass etc. than dish washing and most importantly I don't need to wait for a cycle to finish to get an item I might need.i@@_asphobelle6887

In college, my friends and I would go to a Chinese restaurant (named Lung Fung) and they had the best food. About once a month, they’d get closed down for health reasons, but would later open up. Finally they didn’t reopen after being shut down. (Their radio commercials had the saying, “Lung Fung is good for the tongue!”)

I didn't see the current movie but I first saw the adaptation of the book as an animated musical film from '87 that was re-aired on HBO yrs later.. Ouch... that blanket about being his wife's last kiss, love etc is a painful thing to receive from your dying partner. The surviving spouse always feels guilty moving on and trying to enjoy the rest of their lives when they're ready... she'll have a permanent sign on the living room sofa telling her he never wants her to love again. Hopefully that was bought when he wasn't fully himself, and she can put it in a box- preferably to goodwill- and try to find happiness when the grief lifts.
OMG. I thought that was the most romantic memory to get from a spouse that has passed. What a treasure. Apparently the couple had a beautiful marriage that still lives on.

I wear a "work jacket" that has safety strips all over so people have no excuse to say " oh dear, I didn't see you when they plow you down , and for some frustrating reason people have decided that it's a " man's " coat and I am sooooo sick and tired of being called, Sir. These are all awesome examples of what people can be if they strive for goodness and love, which is what God desires through Christ and his loving example! Wow: the one about the coffee mugs and the Dad getting mad about it. And many men complain about their wives wanting to take away 'their' hobbies... Bet the dad had a garage full of tools to work on HIS hobbies though. Kinda makes ya wonder why the divorce rates are so high anymore? To many selfish men and women, wanting everything their way... People who get married, should really get to know each other, before jumping into the sack or marriage IDK just to see if they are really right for one another, with ( and this is actually an important component)full honesty involved...😉
