  • My friend let me take out this XJ6 for a spin, have to say its a super smooth engine, although I don't know if that's because its so quiet compared to my bike. Really liked it though, go check out his insta if you want to see more pics of the bike:

Also apologies again for audio problems, I've got them sorted now, this was filmed same time as the last video :/
    Peace!

That smoothness is from the inline 4 cylinder engine as opposed to most other middle weight bikes that use parallel twins. 2 cylinder engines have to have a longer stroke to get 600 ccs, which means more piston travel, more vibration. Spread out that stroke to 4 cylinders, you get half the piston travel, smoother revving, power delivery, and less stress on the engine at high RPMs. That's why these bikes are so reliable too, engine wise.

Smoothness is due to more power pulses per rotation, not due to bore or stroke size.

Nice, been thinking of getting a xj6 diversion with abs as my first bike (been driving an mt07 and a 750 hornet with my driving school but they pricey). Just one thing that makes me a little bit iffy, do you get used to not seeing what gear you're in?

@@valizeth4073 I have been riding for last 20 years nearly (On/off) and I have never seen what gear am in. You just get used to it.
If you are really pedantic about it, you can buy that gear indicator and stick it near the gauges.

You can set it from 10 and see if there is any popping from exhaust. It's better to do that on dyno if you fit in aftermarket exhaust for accurate result. Next, do throttle body sync as well
