    Everyone always wants to talk about and compare Daenerys to her father (and after season 8, it's inevitable now), but I always wanted to compare Dany and Rhaella. What happened to Rhaella wasn't fair. She did her duty like she was supposed to, but I don't think she was ever happy in her life.

      @@Caraxes_RoguePrince not all Targaryens go mad. But madness and greatness are 2 sides of a coin. Like King Baelor was overly religious and pious, and in my opinion that's a form of madness. Speaking of Jon, he is Targaryen, and madness runs in the blood and being the Mad King's grandson, he runs an even greater risk. He could easily succumb to it if something pushed him to the edge. Imo, show wise, being isolated in the far north, does not sound good for Jon's mental health.

    • @haydenrodriguez4670
      @haydenrodriguez4670 5 ปีที่แล้ว +65

      And just because Jon also has Stark blood doesn't mean he can't go mad. Aegon V, Maester Aemon, and their brother, Aerion, all had a Dayne mother, and Aerion tormented little Aegon, and drank wildfire and died because he thought it would turn him into a dragon. So yeah my point is, Jon could also go mad too.

They botched the show that’s why he wasn’t on season 8 D&D ruined it and rushed it for a prequel people don’t want it and people’s said they won’t watch anything they do ever again bc it and want the books bad they changed Cercis prophecy and everything it’s stupid and don’t it for a spin off people won’t watch it. When Jaime was a Kingsgaurd to Aerys, he was guarding the Queen’s chambers when he overheard Aerys raping Rhaella. As he had to overhear her cries of pain, he told the other guard Ser Darry that they’re sworn to defend their Queen, too. Ser Darry just said, “We are, but not from him.” I have to wonder if this was just another reason among the rest that Jaime finally plunged his sword into the Mad King.

    I feel like if Rhaella survived the childbirth, things wouldn't be so different. She was not in a good mental state due to all the r@pes, abuses and isolation that she went through. It's hard to say what would happen if she stayed with Dany and Viserys during their time on Essos, but I clearly see her favoring Daenerys due to Viserys' narcissistic and paranoid behaviors. He would remind her of Aerys, I'm sure of it.

    Rhaella had a very tragic life… she saw so many of her children die, and Aerys blamed her for that. She had to live in fear and abusement … She gave life to a gentle prince, a monster and a dragon. The prince died in the battle for his love, the moster was slain by the dragons wrath. The dragon was once hope for Westeros, but that hope became fear. While the dragon whispered her name in the East, the lion fought the wolf, and in doing so, the wheel spinned and crushed those on the ground. The dragon heard their voices and flew to the West, hoping she would claim what once was her mother's prison. Once a gentle heart turned into fire, and so the dragon was awakened… She burnt the lion's cage, and love she once wanted to share became hate. Their hope became fear. But the dragon had a weakness in her armor… love. Love for a gentle dragon raised by the wolves. And so the last of Rhaella's children died… If only she had a chance to meet her daughter and raise her with love...

The other ring was shown during the boat scene with her and the injured Jon Snow. It was when Jon pledged his allegiance to her and she grabbed his hand and it showed a ring different from the one I mentioned before. I don't know where she gets her jewelries from in the show.

I suspect that the number is higher (more like 80% if I’m kind and 90% on the high end) because of all the noble house relationships. These people shouldn’t exist.
      Yes, some are negligible like eye colour and skin tone, but far too many are dangerous like club feet and sickle cell anemia.

    If you read between the lines in "A World of Ice & Fire", Tywin was poisoning Rhaella so she would have miscarriages. When ALL of his access to her stopped, she gave birth to a son. Viserys, the son, survived because Aerys had the wetnurses supervised so their breasts could not be smeared with poison prior to feeding the baby. Rhaegar practically isolating himself from early on, spending his childhood with his nose permanently stuck in books and scrolls instead of socializing and playing, might very well be a sign of his parents toxic relationship and his fathers madness affecting him a lot, actually. Very young children can get easily traumatized by a toxic environment and show it through odd behavior.

    All those still borns and miscarriages coupled with all the plotting and betrayals that happened daily in kings landing, its no wonder Aries lost his mind. It doesn't condone his actions but it does explain why he lost the plot.
    It also makes Raella very brave to be able to hold Rhaegar children without fearing Aries. Or dismissing Joanna without any fear. That says a lot about her character. Its a shame there isnt much lore surrounding her.

    As you said Rhaella was named the Queen of love and beauty by Sir Bonifer who was only a landed knight. Isn’t it possible that these two had a love affair just before Rhaella married the mad king and Bonifer is really Rhaegar’s true father! Evidence of this is 1. Rhaegar was born “soon after” they were married. 2. Mad king has difficulty having healthy children with Rhaella but Rhaegar was easy and healthy because he had a different father. 3. After the marriage Sir Bonifer became super pious, very similar to what happened with Lancel after what he did with Cersei. 4. Ironically Rhaegar names Lyanna his Queen of Love and Beauty because tragically his real father did the same thing for a love that he could never have.

      That would have been an interesting story to see. Especially as Aerys's popularity only decreased more and more and if he doesn't have Rhaella, he has no children. No children, no heirs, no line of succession to continue the Targaryen dynasty. And even if Rhaella's husband is a Bonifer, her child (in this case Rhaegar) would be:
      1. A Targaryen by blood
      2. A true born if his parents married before his birth
      3. A son

    I wish they'd went into who Rhaella was in the show and books more. I feel like who she was is very important to know, as Aerys was the children's father. All of the good inside Rhaella must have been passed to her children, and I feel like the mother of those three kids would be quite strong and kind too. Viserys completely inherited Aerys madness, Rhaegar inherited none of it and must have taken after his mother, and Dany if we're going by the show has the Targ madness inside her genes but it doesn't present until she's pushed to madness, before that she must have taken very much after Rhaella. There's something magical about her births and her children, Rhaegar was born admist fire and death and became famous and beloved and Dany was born admist a great raging storm and has magic and dragons. She must have been very magical, had she not been surpressed I wonder who she was deep down to have born such powerful children.

    She was a good person, which is suicidal in the game of thrones world. Had she been more cunning say like Olena Tyrell, Aerys would have been taken care of as Geoffrey was, and thus saved herself, family and kingdom from the bloodshed that came after.
    Daenerys is not this docile thankfully. I believe the purpose of these conversations about her family are meant to be life lessons of what she shouldn't be, if she wants to rule the seven kingdoms. She can't be as psychotic as Aerys was, or as docile and helpless as her mother. Or as reckless and delusional as Rhaegar, or as vain and pompous as Viserys. Sadly, if the show is anything to go by, then she won't learn from their mistakes.

      It would be interesting if Tywin believed Tyrion was a Targaryen, but what if it had instead been Jamie and Cersei that were secretly Aerys's children. It would have given more insight with their incestuous relationship. And it would explain why Joanna became so afraid when she found out. After all, if she was indeed attacked by Aerys before being sent back to Casterly Rock, and the children from that attack were believed by her husband to be his, if he ever found out what they were, he would likely have killed them. Joanna might have wished their conceptions circumstances were different, but they would still be her children. So she tried to protect them.
      Ironic, that the child Tywin hated the most happened to be his only legitimate child.
      If that was indeed the case anyway. It's at least interesting to think about.

    I don’t think Rhaella or for that matter Aerys II was as young as people say they were when they died. Considering that in season 6 episode 6, Aerys II is portrayed as an old man played by David Rintoul, and the characters are brother and sister, they must have been at least in their 50’s or something.

    • @lightningbug3189
      @lightningbug3189 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      We have the year of Aerys birth recorded in canon and everyone is aged up on the show. They couldn't even shiw Daenerys marrying at 13 and aged her up too. Aerys looking like a crazy old man is a good move visually, but he would be of age with Tywin since they grew up together (along with Robert Baratheon's father).

    • @malma2199
      @malma2199 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They aged everyone up in the show lol. We have Aerys’ canon birthyear, and he became a dad at 15, while Rhaella was either 13 or 14. Dany is supposed to be 13 when she marries Khal Drogo, Sansa is supposed to be 13 when she married Tyrion etc. Aerys was 39 when he died, though admittedly, he did look much older due to his madness and mental instability
