His feet look great! 😍 It actually looks like his boots crushed the snow down, leaving him in a little depression the way snow would look. Fantastic job Claire 👏
Your excitement is infectious! It always had me smiling😊 When you said Santa looks smushed, I laughed out loud at the thought of looking up for a way out
These turned out great!!!! Ill have to see if i can still get the pieces. One thing I've found that helps when using alcohol to demold is to spray some alcohol on at least two sides, then squish it around and let it sit for a minute or two. Those sphere molds come out so easy then! I also use a bowl with a towel over it when demolding, or just a towel on the counter so the items don't go flying out too far.
I llove them, but thought to myself, if only she'd added a little bit of glitter so it actually looked like a snow globe inside with the glitter falling like snow! There's white mica or the kind of holographic mica that would have worked, too. Again, that was just a thought for your next try at making a Christmas-y globe!
Cute, cute, cute! If I was making these, I would tie a thread on Santa's feet and suspend him tied onto the stick. That way, I could see his feet as I was pouring the clear resin. (This would not work, of course, if Santa floated to the surface of the resin.)
I don't mind tiny bubbles in a snow scene; it just looks like snow! :) This idea is absolutely adorable and yes you hit the nail on the head with Santa's position in the "snow" !!♥
Hey Claire, these turned out soooo cute. If you put a light on the other side of the mold you should be able to see through it. Should help you gage where things are. Could also use fishing string and a stick. Scared me when all of them came off, but glad it turned out.
Adorable! 😍I make “sticks”out of UV resin and attach those to the item and a popsicle stick. Then I snip off excess if needed, but they pretty much disappear in the pour.
When I’m using deep pour, I submerge my mold in warm/hot water for the first few hours. Really reduces the chance of any bubbles remaining. Love your spheres, note I’m going to make a few for Christmas❤
What a cute idea! Made the first spheres we ever made today. Three different sizes to make a snowman! I can’t wait to see what they look like! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
These are so cute. To get the Santa the same level as the trees, measure the distance from the bottom of the tree to the entrance of the mold, then build his platform to that height. Instead of using hot glue to fix the platform to the stick that suspends it, use removable mounting putty. Instead of spraying alcohol into the mold to help get the casting out, use soapy water. It works the same and doesn't dry out the mold like alcohol can.
Your enthusiasm is entirely contagious 💕 love these and as a new subscriber that may have binge watched a few of your posts, I’ve yet to see anything that isn’t adorable 🥰
I don’t understand, is stating that we are so afraid to try something actually getting us more views, if so I’m down to say that…..but why are people so afraid to do things? It’s not surgery or harming to a person in anyway. NEVER BE AFRAID TO TRY SOMETHING NEW AS AN ARTIST
Hi Claire, I use the clear acrylic sticks if it's too heavy for a nylon string as if you have to leave them in they're virtually invisible. If I want to temporarily stick something down I'll use double sided sticky tape. It's usually strong enough.
Very CUTE!! I think the Santa one looks like he's leaning up to the sphere, to fog it up with his breath!! 😅 That's what I see when I look at it. 😊 Do you make any snow globes??!! I LOVE snow globes. Sorry, I just recently found your channel. I like your energy...I'm a new subbie!! I'll have to binge-watch some of your vids!!
I adore these! So cute ❤ Tie some fishing line to the boots and around a thinner stick to give you more room. Once you pour the white you won’t see the bit of line that’s attached to the boot. Also I think Santa made those bubbles… either by farting 😂 or his porous body. I would seal him in pva or modge podge. I’m loving them… and although it’s May I’m getting inspiration for Christmas fairs! 🎄🎅🏻🌲
I LOVE these! They are adorable 🥰 You're right, it is scary when doing spheres and 'dangly' stuff! Any encapsulation really!! That little tree though!! 🥰🥰 I have found that spraying the inside of the mold with alcohol before you fill it up helps with eliminating the surface bubbles. Doesn't cure the problem totally, but definitely helps. I spray all my molds with nooks and crannies with alcohol first, it definitely helps xxx
I love it! 🧑🏻🎄🎄 I use Invisible Thread that I bought from Amazon, it disappears in resin. I use UV resin to attach it to the object and the stick I suspend it from
It couldnt be anymore perfect. It looked like there is fresh snow and he sunk down in it. It looks authentic. The trees were perfect. If I tried this, there'd probably be bubbles just at the tips, lol. I just love these little globes. Heres a challenge. Try making these globes where one can add the glycerin and water and make a snow globe or sprinkle snow flake confetti in these globes where they are falling in the background. Or just all around. Suspended throughout the resin. I can see it. I'm not sure if Im coming across as such. All these are just suggestions or take it as a challenge. Your work is beautiful and stay positive as the person that you are. Peace Love Joy and Harmony✌🏼❤️🎶😊🙏🏼
Hi Claire, when I've made a platform ti sink items I also glue items to lolly sticks and to build it up I use a screw through the over lapping lolly stick through the others, drill a hole through the sticks before adding the screw or the sticks might spilt...... I hope this tip helps you or anyone else..... Happy new year to you Treacle 😘xx
First video I watched of yours and OMG I could hear your happiness. New sub here. I usually don't comment but I had to let you know that you did very good and I'm sure I'm not the only one who could hear the excitement and happiness in your voice.
When I want to have item in middle of sphere - I use fishing line. I use UV resin to attatch 2 lines of thin clear filament. Then I tie that to a craft stick and secure to stick with glue once I'm sure of depth. The filament is hard to see in resin. And I can see inside mold fairly easily. I think I learned that from Steve MacDonald and previous puppet making.
you needed a light to shine through the sides or somewhere. Hope you know what I mean.? Bravo they came out nice. Love how it looks like Santa" 's feet are sunk in the snow a little bit. Realistic
Wonder if spreading the mold with alcohol before filing with the resin would have helped with the bubbles. But seriously it's so cute, who cares about those bubbles
When I do anything where I struggle to see inside the mold, I use a high powered torch/ flashlight behind it & it makes it easier to see what you're doing. That was a beautiful sphere 🤗
Look at those..they turned out great. Totally understand u freaking out, its alot of work for it to look like crap..but u did it and I learnt something lol well done x
wow well done they are ace!!! Youve inspired me to try a little diorama I have been thinking about doing, but never really known how to sink the figures int the resin without them floating about or being the wrong height
Maybe you could have used a hot wax instead of hot glue to hold Santa onto that big stick. I am new to all this, so I’m not sure but it seems like it would’ve been easier to separate Santa at the end if it was hot wax sticks in the hot glue gun.
Clear fishing line and uv resin. I have a cauldron stand i put over and egg. I uv resined the fishing line to the item and to a skewer (popsicle stick) at a correct length to hang into the mold and let sit.
If you have bottle brush trees that are wonky you can try this: saw a girl showing us to put your trees in warm water and within a few minutes they were good. Try it.. good luck 8:19
I'm no expert at this, but if you shine a flashlight through the side of the sphere, I think you'd be able to see the outline of where things are? Just an idea.
I have a thought, tie a long piece of thin jewelry wire to Santa's feet then to the popsicle stick. When cured cut off the wire an continue to fill. Have a Blessed day.
Turned out great! I think the heat mat was the problem. The resin cured faster so the chance for bubbles to rise out of the resin was shortened. Perhaps not using the heat mar next time?
Any type of clear string would be good to dangle a piece in resin and tell you get the first part cured. Also with a clear mold you can use a flashlight to better see inside to see if it’s lined up properly.
Get some clear fishing line and a hot glue gun. Put a dot of hot glue on the bottom of santa's foot and secure fishing line in hot glue suspended from a pop stick and secure the end Doing this does not it keeps you from being able to see the levels and you will not see the fishing line in the resin whenever you cut it away at the base
Love it! I have a large sphere mold. It is a 2 piece. Do b you, or could you I undo a video in hiw to do it. I want to do like you did, but I want to put plants in it.
How adorable! We brought the trees and Santa today, but hubby has earmarked them for his lanterns!
His feet look great! 😍 It actually looks like his boots crushed the snow down, leaving him in a little depression the way snow would look. Fantastic job Claire 👏
Your excitement is infectious! It always had me smiling😊
When you said Santa looks smushed, I laughed out loud at the thought of looking up for a way out
They are the cutest things I've seen made for Christmas so far! I love them so much❤❤❤
You did a great job😊
Hey there. Great idea

They both turned out really cute
WOW! 🙏Thank you for sharing! 💕Absolutely love love love these!
Perfectly Adorable ❤❤

Absolutely cute!
they turned out very nice.
Very nice, well done!
So awesome
Awesome 🎉
Love these!!!!😊
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous Claire ❤ WOWSERS!!
Cute, cute, cute! If I was making these, I would tie a thread on Santa's feet and suspend him tied onto the stick. That way, I could see his feet as I was pouring the clear resin. (This would not work, of course, if Santa floated to the surface of the resin.)

It does look like snow!
He really looks like he is standing in snow.
Hey Claire, these turned out soooo cute. If you put a light on the other side of the mold you should be able to see through it. Should help you gage where things are. Could also use fishing string and a stick. Scared me when all of them came off, but glad it turned out.

What a great idea. I will try that the next time I make a night light 😊.

Oh these are super cute!!! The little bubbles just add to it looking like snow!! Love these, you nailed it lovely!!

I just tried out mounting putty for a project and it worked great! I had forgotten I had it and found it when I was trying to organize.
They are too cute ❤❤🎉🎉😊
A bit of a jooosh 😂😂😂❤️ aw Claire! Luv ya! 🤣What a lovely project 🥹
😮omg that’s just so good Claire. What a great job on them I’m petrified of doing a sphere.
I love hearing your excitement. Congratulations on your success.
Why wouldn’t you stick your trees down on the resin in the first pour so they are half in the background color
Your enthusiasm is entirely contagious 💕 love these and as a new subscriber that may have binge watched a few of your posts, I’ve yet to see anything that isn’t adorable 🥰
I love them n think the bubbles give it snow globe character 😊
I’m in love. So cute. I love his feet I the snow. Living the Christmas vibe. Thank you

Well said its fun
I love it Claire, very nice round piece 👌. Santa looks like he happy to be among the little trees 🌳
These are so adorable! Turned out amazing. Santa's boots in the snow turned out perfect .
Hi Claire, I use the clear acrylic sticks if it's too heavy for a nylon string as if you have to leave them in they're virtually invisible. If I want to temporarily stick something down I'll use double sided sticky tape. It's usually strong enough.
I missed it 😢 had to work late.. 👏👏👏👏 perfect snow globe… they always give me a warm tingling feeling ❤❤❤
Very CUTE!! I think the Santa one looks like he's leaning up to the sphere, to fog it up with his breath!! 😅 That's what I see when I look at it. 😊

🎉This is absolutely Adorable!! I enjoyed watching the whole video and listening to you figure out how to work out everything. 😊😊

The bubble machines are amazing just dnt do what i did run 2/3 times n forgot had left one in machine y using one n it flash cured on me x
Sooooo Cute! Yep, it looks like he's stepped in powdery snow and he just sank in there ... Thanks for this vid, it's perfect!!

It's not lollipop sticks, it's popsicle sticks. Sorry if that's your word for it in your country but it was bugging me.
Invisible thread works well for suspending objects.❤
Perfection! You are so brave. I wish I had that confidence to attempt this. Gorgeous Claire!

OMG.....so so cute Claire, I love them❤❤ You did a great job!
Happy little accidents! I think these both are adorable, but that snow around Santa's boots! So cute.
omg these turned out SO cute! not gonna lie, I had no idea what you were doing!😂 I'm such a newbie!😂
the bubbles look like snow. another resin TH-camr uses fishing line and suspends the object from a stick
Awwww so cute good job Claire don’t know what you were scared of 🤷♀️ lol! ❤
How about using clear fishing line tied to the stick? It should be easy to snip the line after 🤔.
This looks great 👍🏽
Both came out sooo good! ❤❤❤I can tell how excited you are, it's infectious!😂
Look at those..they turned out great.
Totally understand u freaking out, its alot of work for it to look like crap..but u did it and I learnt something lol well done x
Wow, this is just wonderful.. I love the way his feet have sunk into the snow.. Its great 👍
wow well done they are ace!!! Youve inspired me to try a little diorama I have been thinking about doing, but never really known how to sink the figures int the resin without them floating about or being the wrong height
Someone in another video said spray inside of your silicone mold before pouring to help with bubbles. Not sure but passing on info.
Maybe you could have used a hot wax instead of hot glue to hold Santa onto that big stick. I am new to all this, so I’m not sure but it seems like it would’ve been easier to separate Santa at the end if it was hot wax sticks in the hot glue gun.

I like the air bubbles, as they remind me of fine snow flakes blowing in the wind .😊💕⛄🎄
Turned out great!

This Santa dome is so very enchanting. The little tree is so very cute, too. Great job!!
Wow, you can see some bubbles but it fits with Santa. I like them both❤❤😊
Maybe put a little large white glitter in the clear to make it look like it's snowing and camouflage the bubbles a little.
Love it! I have a large sphere mold. It is a 2 piece. Do b you, or could you I undo a video in hiw to do it. I want to do like you did, but I want to put plants in it.
Ohhhhh, so stinking cute! These are both so much fun. Great job, hun. xoxooxo
Those are both so cute! I love them! They really turned out amazing!
Viewing from the caribbean adorable well done ☃️❄☃️
😊Great job! ❤❤ this was tricky and you mastered it!
These are super cute ❄️🎄🎅
Maybe a flashlight pointed down into the mold to check depth of Santa?
Look awesome like snow globe's love them. Thanks Debby
Aw I love this Claire, thank you for sharing 😊
I wonder how you were able to make his boots look like there is a drift! So perfect!
I am going to make them and and add a eye pin ribbon and put them on my tree. Thanks clare x❤
Love it, so sweet 😍😍😍😍😍. Great regards from Germany 😊😊😊.
I would put tape or draw a line on the outside of the mold to mark where the bottom of the trees and Santa's boots should be at.
This is an amazing project, well done xx ❤
Amazing outcome! You lucked out on the sticks coming off too!
Just love watching your channel. 😊
Absolutely nailed it Claire. Fantastic!!!
You have great ideas and really enjoy watching take care
Adorable, little tip next time hest the glue up a bit will come off easier
OMG…. Those are so frogging cute!!!!!
