    Corn flour in a fine piece of cotton will work the same as an anti static pad. You can also add another layer of embossing powder over the top whilst it's still warm, it will stick without stamping. Reheat and you'll get a smoother look. I love these even with the little unintended parts. So glad I've found your channel thanks for the fun and ideas xxxx

    Awh Claire, I loved that.....I was thinking....and I know....before I say it 'you hate sanding' 😂😂 but could you maybe sand the jesmonite lightly as it approaches the resin, I don't know if this is making sense, but at an angle so there isn't a step if you like or channel as you called it, I know it's too late for the ones in this video but for the other two maybe? Hahah I don't know.....😂😂
    But totally loved how these turned out, 😍 ❤️ everytime I watch your videos I'm like, oh no I need to buy that now haha 😂😂

    beautiful 😍 and if you are using new stamps you actually need to prine them to remove the factory residue, and the easiest way is to rub them over your skin till they dull, its that easy it give a surface for the ink to completely grab then the embossing wont be as dotty xx

  • @lindawood2946

    Re embossing - baby powder in a piece of fine cotton is ok to remove static, plus, a specific embossing ink that is stickier will give a smoother emboss. I love this idea.

    They are still lovely, with the canals and all. I think evaporation of the water is a significant part of the curing process of the eco pour type resins, and the layer of epoxy resin prevented that. By the time the epoxy part was hard and you demolded the pieces, maybe the remaining wet jesmonite had lost momentum to cure. I use a different brand, and am yet to try to combine resin and eco pour, but after watching this, I think I'll let the eco pour cure first, just in case, and then add the resin. I'm picturing a clear blue night sky of epoxy over white snow with forest animals.

  • @jodimarie379
    @jodimarie379 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I don't know if this would work on Jesmonite or not, but when you get that kind of dotty look on paper, it helps to double emboss.
    On paper, you reheat the embossing powder and pour more on. The molten embossing will act as the glue. Let it cool completely, then pour off the extra, and reheat. it gives a more solid, uniform look - on paper....

      @@ClairesCraftyCorner I have used a good quality embossing ink on resin (not sure of Jesmonite) and I got the dotting. In fact, I got more smearing too. I think because resin is not porous. Jesmonite might react differently. Anyways, I still got the dotting on resin. The ink almost beads up.

    Hypothetical solution, still only partway into the video:
    Put your mould on an incline. Then, pour one and let it cure on the angle.
    Flip your mould a 180, and pour the other material!

  • @CynthiaPrice79
    @CynthiaPrice79 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Oh yes! It’s obvious!
    To me, the jesmonite (sp?) is the snowy land, and the sparkly , silvery resin is the sky!

    That said, I haven’t finished the video yet!

  • @brennashedd8554

  • @sandraallen4142
    @sandraallen4142 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It's a bit like an oil/water don't mix thing that happened there. Jesmonite is a bit like cement and probably has a certain amount of water, whereas resin is a plastic type compound, so doesn't have any water.

    If I wanted your original idea to turn out, could I pour the first part in, with my mold at a SLIGHT very suported grade, to make sure i have that 1/3 left? Then, once that part is set, put the resin in?
    Or does this type of project have to be done at one time?

    • @wilandalicia
      @wilandalicia 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you answered my question.
      You can't put Epoxy Resin over or next to Jesmonite. It won't adhere. Is that correct?
      Could you do it in stages anyway, but instead of waiting for the Jesmonite to cure, just let it settle for a little while and get very comfortable where it is ( 15 min to maybe even an hour). Then come back and pour the Epoxy Resin? Or is it all right now or nothing?

    • @wilandalicia
      @wilandalicia 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      OK. So now I've rewound the video 3 times and even watched it with my husband and I think I get it;
      Jesmonites poured over Epoxy will never adhere. But, you can pour Epoxy Resin over Jesmonite and it WILL adhere.
      So, if the uncured Jesmonite channel was such a big deal, why didn't you fill it with Epoxy Resin after you discovered it? These are beautiful! I'm just trying to find out if these are salvageable with your original idea. Or were you happy enough coloring it with the silver pen?
