Because depending on how you interpret the lore that could be good or bad because. The murder and the god-suppression and all that. I personally subscribe to the theories by feralphoenix surrounding how historical parallels involving the problems and colonization the australian indigenous peoples faced enhances the reading of the lore even though the gameplay makes that difficult to deal with considering you become the bad guy in all proper endings if you follow that reading. Fun to explore what that means for each character to become a symbol though! It's also what taught me how symbols in literature work when i should have learned that in, yknow, literature class, but connecting history to literature now is so much more interesting than just making connections within the bounds of the work, about characters themselves instead of the working parts that they're so often meant to be.)
Same. Quarantine would have been the PERFECT time to get invested in this game when I didn't have to work. On the other hand I gotten REALLY into Silent Hill thanks to Quarantine and did a complete bedroom rearrangement.
This game is just beautiful, ever aspect of the game. This game is a absolute masterpiece and I have never felt better than the times that I have stopped and sat on the bench with Quirrel, and listened to this one song inside of the game, I cried a lot times when that happened.

it was similar here, Hollow Knight helped me a lot during the first months of covid
I was having a hard time getting into the game, because the areas were not really particularly interesting, atleast for me, I found the stations and other built areas more pretty, and then I reached the City of Tears. Man, the soundtrack, the architecture, the color, the rain, the name! I was so impressed while the knights kicked my bug butt.
Gotta agree with you there. The emotional link to the game formed right about this point in the game. I went the hard way down fog canyon and up till then I was enjoying the game… but not really absorbed. But City of Tears legit made me cry.
