samuel H. they cool to use! brand can be illusion at times. Walmart color pencils are expensive but I'll show the best who they messing with. sometimes its the artist and the skill.

You know you're talented when you make Crayola look like a professional brand😅
A LOT of people use crayolas because of their ability to get better line variation than some “professional” markers. They really shine if you ditch crayolas ink and refill it with something like copic ink. They also have a wonderfully flexible and thick nib that you can still get a solid point out of.

Sharpies aren’t as good as Crayolas for this believe it or not. At least not unless it’s their brush pen. Crayolas actually have a really flexible and wide nib that allows for some really thick and decently thin lines.

The fact that you use basic markers is awesome. Other artists I see always recommend the Copic brand or Prisma brand when drawing faces. Cool work!
Not the tools but the artist
That’s mainly because of the superior line quality you get out of them. That’s said if you work with something enough you can get solid results out of it. Problem with crayolas I’ve found is that unless the ink is swapped out for something better, the Black is too light for my tastes.
I have drawn tens of thousands of drawings and all I use is a sharpie.

That’s not necessarily a problem. Many folks in the live scenes can’t get a realistic likeness and if you can it’ll put you above a LOT of people.

Although you are a wonderful caricature artist, you don’t actually TEACH anything. You just gave a demo. That’s all. You said you would tell us all we needed to know to how to do it. You failed in that regard. There was not ONE SINGLE instruction on HOW to do anything. Sorry, not trying to be mean. But I as hoping to learn what makes a caricature etc. How to make one vs. just a portrait that is more realistic. You just showed me what you do but didn’t explain anything. Nice work though!

Bruh you need a spirit level
You just have to be quick with your stroke and also use your arm for the length of the line. And even then, straight lines aren’t everything.
