It's videos like this that has actually made me a better golfer. I'll never be pro, how can I get mad at myself for making terrible shots when even the pros do it from time to time. I am now able to just laugh it off and have a better time on the course and I shoot better for it.
I love how they just laugh at Phil, all the other ones, " ohh, thats not very good, gonna be hard to recover from that" when Phil hits " HAHAHA what was that?!"
No game has the ability to grab your confidence, all your self belief and pretty well your will to live, and just kick the living sh!t out of it like golf. Ya gotta love it.
This video makes me so happy 😂 The 4th at one of the local courses play has a massive oak on the left maybe 80 yards off the tee. I hit driver low and hot and it pulled - hard - right in to the tree. It ricocheted up about 60-70 feet in the air and came all the way back to the tee box about 2 feet behind me. We were laughing so hard for so long that we had to let another group play thru 😂 So when I see it happens to the pros, it makes me smile LOL
For the first time ever, I traveled out of town with my golf clubs. I was so excited. Felt like a professional taking my clubs to the airport. Then when it came to my tee time, the weather took a drastic change. It went from predicted mostly sunny 70 degrees to 55 degrees, 50mph wind gusts and rain. It was absolutely miserable. Had zero good shots I guess watching some of these players have off shots in good weather makes me feel a little better.
@@denisgianhicks5957 I tried yesterday but it turns out I'm too good. Shot 74 from the back tees and holed out for eagle from 50 yards. :( maybe next year I'll be closer!!
I saw Steve Stricker (then world #2) chunk or mishit a ball about 60 yards on a par 3 at the Masters. It never felt more relatable. Then he went on to make par like it never happened.
they should include these moments in more broadcasted golf tournaments..it really lightens things up and adds a bit more narrative to the event. most televised content is just like back to back shots of perfectly played situations and only jumping between the top of the leaderboard.. it's kind of a strange way to view and absorb golf at that level
Many years ago, a couple of friends and I went on to the golf course one crowded Saturday. When it was out turn on the first tee, there was about a handful of foursomes waiting behind us. My friend stepped up on the tee, took a few practice swings, carefully addressed the ball and took a mighty swing. The club barely touched the very top of the ball. The ball dropped off the tee and rolled forward about 5 feet. My friend held his position in his follow-through as if he had hit the ball 300 yards. For about 5 seconds no one moved, no one said a thing. Finally I said, "Well, at least it's straight." Everyone around the tee burst into laughter. It may have been my most enjoyable moment in golf.
Whenever I hit a bad one in front of someone I feel like everyone including myself thinks to themselves "please don't think I do this every time, I'm actually not this bad" haha.
I've seen Tiger Woods do that literally 5 yards away from me at the World Matchplay @Wentworth, England (2006). He was 50 yards short of the 17th green in the rough. He fluffed his pitch and was still 40 yards short of the green/
Golf is hard! Also expensive, frustrating and very difficult to master. I still love golf but now I play with a discs instead of clubs. Easy, inexpensive and very fun. If you have a disc golf course near you I invite you to go play. Most courses are free and a starter pack disc golf set cost $29.
At a club where I was captain we had an annual Member's Day, when members could bring friends and family. I introduced a prize for the shortest drive of the day. The ball had to be visible, not in long grass or trees at the sides. The winner was 7 feet.
Alot of these shanks are them swinging short, I wonder if that's what causes it, I've had that issue around the green, taking a half swing and shanking, not so much with a 3/4 swing though
I used to work the Canadian Open. Many stories but seeing pros duff a shot makes us normal. But I always laughed at the younger players look at their clubs as if it were the equipment failure. 😅😅😅
I remember all these golfers playing bad shots, they spoke to me off the course and said "I'm struggling off the tee" I replied "I'm not", I got 2 hole in ones that day.
Its only when I'm hitting short chips from the fringe or nearby the green that I shank, but never while hitting long shots. Should I be happy about that?
I feel a lot better now
Me too buddy. ✋
Same bro
friga plays golf??
Tryna play golf on Sunday ???
This du everywhere. Next time take ball when you call travel.

Totally agree with you bro
Attitude is everything. Having fun is the most important thing for people like us.
Ya know, Darin, you gotta good point there.
I’ve always taken that same mindset. I’m there to enjoy myself. If you aren’t having fun, why even do it?
I 100% agreee
The excited "OH he shanked it" gets me every time
proceeds to examine the club as if it was the club's fault
The fact that Tiger Woods is featured in this video multiple times should tell you everything you need to know about golf.
I like how JT hits the middle of the green and says "This gotta be the worst shot in the history of golf"
If memory serves me correct that’s like a 220 yard par 3 as well
@@RSMover You can see the yardage marker behind him, says 168 yards. So I'm guessing his 8 iron
@@grandaddy0807 good eye!
If they included that, I'm surprised they didn't include any of Matsuyama's trove of "mishits" that are actually great shots
Any other golfer might call that a "good miss."
I love how they just laugh at Phil, all the other ones, " ohh, thats not very good, gonna be hard to recover from that" when Phil hits " HAHAHA what was that?!"
I was thinking the same thing 😂
classic mccord
Loved Ricky's reaction for his errant drive...just points and says "That way"
These videos are so comforting, makes us average golfers feel better about our own games
It's making me feel better about doing similar things in the PGA video game.
Jordan at 2:32 - "Just don't look. Keep looking at the ground. You didn't see anything". 🤣
Nice to see the pros make these mistakes and shows how hard golf really is
The golf is easy. You just make 32 things perfectly shot after shot😂😂
Tiger's laugh at the end was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
Bryson’s shot had all them birds laughing
I didn’t even notice that!
Exactly what i thought when i heard it lol
wish they show this more often on national tv, it gives us amateurs hope
perhaps there's a reason why they don't. perhaps this happens more often than we know.

Whenever I'm on the course doing badly, I pull out this video and it comforts me.

You're supposed to whack it back before it hits the ground
lands on green 100 ft away - terrible.
me: a shot at birdie lets go
When I have a bad round I love watching these type of videos. It makes me feel better about my game.
Some psychological relief for us weekend golfer's the pro's have those moments too.
0:23 they should really be kicking those hecklers out…

6:05 "Great shot!" 😂😂😂
When a pro shanks it: "That's the worst shot in the history of golf."
When I shank it: "Well...can we still see it? That'll play, baby."
I'm so glad and honored that I can be considered a PGA pro.
0:22 even the seagulls were laughing 🤣
"Can you say hozelrocket" 😂 thankfully i get to say that everytime im golfing about a shot of mine or someone im playing with. 😂
This compilation is like watching myself play 18 holes.
6:15 “Okay Jimmy Powell’s tee shot on this drivable par f- LOOK OUT!”😂
Man. Some of these professionals shanks and tops go farther than my shanks and tops and good contact shots.
This my therapy
I really love these vids, they make me feel much better about my own game 😂
Golf is HARD
Comforting to see that even the world's best golfers still hit these sometimes.
I love this makes my golf drive look great and they always look at the club and blame the club
this video is a breath of fresh air for all of us weekend golfers :)
"Ok Jimmy Powell's tee shot, this drivable par fo.. look out!" LMFAO
3:42 It's kind of amusing to see the spectators rush to the balls that are way off the course just so they can stand around and stare at it. lol
Most of these clips are basically me warming up at the range. 😎
finally, a video I can relate to
Always make me feel better to see the pros do it
As someone that JUST started golfing, like only one driving range session, this is unbelievably reassuring lol.
Crazy how pros make golf looks so easy. I feel like I could do all of these shots in my sleep
You proburbly could ;-)

Nice
@@djcardwellai Weak. I can hit all these shots with and without trying.
at two minutes, how are we supposed to watch three shots at the same time? MY EYES DONT WORK LIKE THAT

This makes me nervous about playing Narooma Golf Course tomorrow! Hoping for a headwind-free morning!
@6:17 "this driveable par 4lookout " 😂😂😂
Those hosel shots hit me right in the feels
The golf gods knew I needed this after my performance at the range yesterday
I appreciate how these pros under immense pressure can still laugh off these shots. It's good to have a sense of humour about it
Bryson's humidy in the air changed 🤣🤣🤣 still a legend though
Thank you PGA TOUR. I suddenly feel better.
Your word is hozel
Hozel can you use it in a sentence
That last shot sounded like it had a touch of hozel in there.
😂
I love this Topic..Golf is Hard!! Brings the pros back to earth for me.
This rly makes me feel better

Yessss omg, I feel like when someone sees my one bad shot they think I’m always that bad
If Tour Pros top the ball, what hope do you have?
No Dechambeau at Dell Match Play? 10 tee he went dead right off the drive.. into the putting green area
To be honest, I’d be quite happy with some of these! 😅
I love this. It makes me feel.so much better about the game.

shows these guys are human too and the smiles on there faces shows they are flawed at golf at times sometimes also and they know it
The announcers are savage lmao I’d love to see then go out and golf in front of millions 😂😂

I cant remember the name of the guy at 7:20. he was really good for a while. anyone remember his name?
This is extremely late but Nick Watney. Lol.
Each of these would be on my highlight reel
