- How to shoot product video with DRY ICE! I'm sharing all the tips and tricks in this video so you can start using dry ice in your product videos, or video in general.
Dry Ice is a great way to convey more depth, meaning, and context in your product video shots. You can use it in a variety of ways, and I share a few I used in my Celsius Video ad (you can see more on that in my course).

Excellent educational experience. Added incentive to utilize your educational experience and support in my recovery process after discharge from stroke rehab. Your TH-cam offerings have proven a valuable addition to my recovery and restoration process.📸🎥🎞👣👣👣👍
Very cool idea! Totally forgot this even existed.
Haha, right? It is loads of fun
This was fantastic. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This is really cool. Dropping a comment for the algo. Keep it up!
Thanks very much!
This is really cool, thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it! :D I had fun with the dry ice! Lots of it
You made that product can look beautiful. Thanks for sharing the know-how!
Thank you, and you are very welcome!
Welding supply stores are good source as well.
Good to know!
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Here after your regrets video! Now you’ve got one more view. It was a solid video, we can just blame TH-cam for this one.
Hahaha, thanks! We will blame youtube, tho im sure the thumbnail coulda been better.☺️
@@FellowFilmmaker do you ever change your thumbnails or titles if a video isn’t working? I’ve done that on my channel before but was too lazy to actually track if it made a difference
I have and I tracked it and it didn't make much of any difference from what I could tell
Dry ice is so visually interesting and super fun to play with. Wish I'd seen this video before trying it!
It really is a fun visual! Sorry you didn't see the vid before you tried it out!
Lol dry ice purchasing instructions. It used to be at every grocery store, next to the water ice. I used to open up the case and look at it every time we went grocery shopping. And the live lobsters. That was just Smitty’s/Kroger too… I wonder why it’s not like that anymore.
I've gotten dry ice in the past from ice cream shops like Dairy Queen or Baskin and Robbins here in the US. It's been a long time though and I tried to use it outside. Oops. This needs to go on my list of projects to experiment with. Thanks Heather!
Haha, oops! Guess you learned that one the hard way! :D It's not that it can't be used outside, just really tricky.
Yessss... let the games begin! Thanks for the inspiration.
Haha! Well thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome use of dry ice. Really enjoyed the video, looks great. I used dry ice to create a fog/animated text effect in one of my TH-cam videos. It was a lot of fun!
That sounds really cool!
Very cool!!
Thanks! It really is fun :D
This is great going to definitely try it
Happy to hear! And yes, def do it, loads of fun!
Thank you., going to have to try this.
Awesome! I bet you'll have loads of fun
@@FellowFilmmaker I’m betting I well. Going to see what kind of random things will look good with this effect
Nice! I hope it goes well 😀
This is the most interesting video that I've watched on your channel. Really enjoyed learning about something so cool.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also to mention, don’t have a bunch in a smaller room. Co2 in dry ice form can displace the normal air around you. Basically you won’t get oxygen and can pass out.
Great point, thanks for sharing :D
Cool !
Thank you!
I'm from India I'm big fan of you 😍😍😍 you're my inspiration ❤️❤️❤️
Happy to hear that! :D
@@FellowFilmmaker 😍😍
Needed this for my next project and this showed up. Thanks a lot
Great to hear I could help! What's your project?
@@FellowFilmmaker A dream scene of a horror short. Great to be a part of Fellow Filmmaker
Ooh that's creative to use dry ice in a dream scene! Hope it comes out well! :D
Great video and very good promotion for your course indeed 👍 When it comes to dry ice, in my part of the world you eventually can find some in shops selling/renting live show equipment as it’s used in some ‘fog machines’ models - although most are using ´some king of liquid’ now…. But maybe it helps still
Good to know! Every place is different it seems
I learned that there's a lot of water residue left on the surfaces (slippery) after my first time with dry ice.. fun time. lol
Oh goodness, that's no fun! I didn't encounter that with my first time, but hey, different situations and places!
I suspect there ought to be a warning. Do not put the dry ice in an air sealed container as it warms up. I remember attending a science class in college some years back where we were shown a video of an air tight steal container with dry ice exploding.
correct, its why you keep the lid poped on whatever you put it in
very interesting. which "turn table" do you use and diameter you advise ? I see Comxin at end of your tuto.
Yes, I use a motorized turntable (link can be found here: kit.co/FellowFilmmaker/product-video-pro ) If you need wider, just put some sort of board or glass sheet or whatever on top of it. :D
Can you tell me how much I would need for an outdoor amateur scene on water. Maybe windy so we will try to control it but not sure how much weight is good. vague about shot but rough guess would be good
Sadly I don't know that number, I'm sorry
👌
:D Thank you!
What lenses did you use? Is macro mandatory for product shoots?
Macro is not mandatory, no. I used a 24-105 to get the closer up shots. Otherwise it was a 50mm or 35mm :D
Never heard of an ice store, but I know Walmart has it around here.
Haha well I guess where I'm at its a thing, but glad to hear Walmart has it! :D It's certainly different everywhere. :D Thanks for watching
This is interesting! How would a fog machine compare to dry ice? 🤔
I was thinking the same..
That's a great idea! I've not gotten around to trying a fog machine, perhaps I'll put that on my list of things to do and compare it for ya'll! :D thanks for the idea!
@@FellowFilmmaker Awesome! Thanks :)
This would be great for doing some of my beer video closeups. My main question though, how much did your 5kg of dry ice cost? Might we be better buying a fire extinguisher? Whenever my high school science teachers did any dry ice stuff they used a CO2 fire extinguisher to create it. These things ain't cheep. A 5kg CO2 extinguisher is like $150 Australian. I just answered my own question with a Google search. There is a local supplier in Perth selling dry ice at $12AUD per kg with a minimum 3kg order. Interesting.
Haha, yes it's not expensive at all. Mine was less than $20. It just depends where you are. :D
@@FellowFilmmaker it is always going to cost more in australia as it has to come all the way from the south pole
Haha! I bet!
For more view change Title “Is Dry Ice it be Better Than Fog Machine?”
