That is an enormous Cemetary, thank you Sue for taking us there. The graves were so close to each other, they obviously could not be accessed easily but you did very well. I loved the woodland area with the older Gravestones and the trees making it look so peaceful. The babies section was a beautiful tribute to newborns and those not baptised, a blessing that they are niw recognised even though the amount in numbers buried there was a big surprise. So much to cover and you did well. Thank you so much and bless you 💕🇦🇺

Great to see you found the link to the auction of Captain Vaughan's medals, regalia and portrait. To think they were sold so recently. I'm sure you found the footnote below the photos as fascinating to read as I did. Sad that he died so young. He was only 12 years old when he joined the navy. I'm bringing a friend to Deansgrange see Captain Vaughan's tomb in the next few days.
Oh brilliant Damien, yes I love that each part of his monument represents his achievements, how many of our young 15yr olds would do what he did, very few I'm sure, he achieved a lot in his young lifetime ❤️ oh brilliant Deansgrange is like an open museum for a cemetery explorer like ourselves, I'll have a video coming soon and Irish eyes will have one tonight ❤️

As I’ve said, each of these memorials tells the story of a life and gives insight unto who they were and what they did or accomplished. Very fine work indeed Sue - you should be a genealogist… ;-)

I erred earlier about the locations of the graves of the great Irish character actors, Oscar-winner Barry Fitzgerald (William Shields) & Arthur Shields. 2 Military jets! I live in Denver Colorado. The US Airforce Academy is 50 miles away in Colorado Springs. The jets fly by in formation often. They do fly low and make their presence known. Also there is Buckley National Guard Base east of Denver (5 miles) in Aurora. The jets practice on the weekends as well as copters. It is a nice feeling to see our soldiers practicing.

The garden of little angels made me cry. Have you heard of the Angel Gown program? Brides donate their wedding dresses to make burial gowns for the stillborn children who don't get to come home from the hospital. It's sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.
@Serenity Sue I've been to Deansgrange cemetery a few times since you made this video. The other day I strolled round by the McCabe mausoleum near the chapel and it brought back a memory. When I was a boy I saw the mausoleum and there was no steel door behind the gate. So you could see inside clearly. I remember seeing several coffins stacked inside. This would have been no later than 1965.

Another great walk Sue thank you very much. But I just have to say I find it very appalling that they wouldn’t except newborns and young children because they weren’t baptized in a cemetery. That to me says God discriminates and I don’t believe that to be true. God loves all of his children. On that note have a wonderful Easter you and Irish eyes. Can’t wait for the next walk❤️🇺🇸

@@everready2903 My great grandparents and two of their children are buried in Deansgrange too not far inside the main gate. One of the children, my great grand aunt died in February 1916. I wonder what the cemetery looked like back then? There are no longer any new grave plots for sale in Deansgrange. So all burials now are in existing graves.
