The problem is China and India have border issues which are not resolved and they also support Pakistan.
2nd is China has progressed way ahead of India and became a huge power in Asia which India feel threatened by.
India just needs to realize we cant get to China level anytime soon. Need to sort out the border issues with neighbors and allow more Chinese investments. Its in India's best interests. Countries like Bangladesh and African countries have progressed a lot due to Chinese investments. India is too poor a country and we should let China also help us to progress. I'm from India by the way.

As a kid growing up in Kolkata in the 90s, my brother & I used to buy shoes from Chinese shoe stores on Bentink Street in Kolkata as they were much cheaper than the ones in the more renowned Bata shoe store. And the Chinatown was our family favourite to try out authentic Chinese food when we wanted to eat out. We also went to school with Chinese kids, never for a moment though that they were different from us. In fact we used to want them on our class football team since they were so good at it. The current generation must have moved out of Kolkata now but they will forever be a part of Kolkata's history. By the way way Carlos do you know that the Indian Chinese food that they serve in New York city came from Kolkata Chinatown?

Wow! My birth place Kolkata (used to called Calcutta). Chinatown is where I grew up and spend most of my teenage years. My family migrated to Toronto, Canada in the 1970’s. However, I don’t remember much from the video. Due to the political environment in the 70’s the harassment the Chinese community received from both the Indian government and the local, most of us are forced to migrate to USA, England, Australia and mostly in Canada. For example, my mother was Indian by birth, she cannot get Indian citizenship/passport, she was forced to use British subject passport (similar to a refugees passport ) to travel. We now have a vibrant Hakka Chinese community in Toronto and mostly from Kolkata.

One of the Chinese traditions is to send money (joss paper) by burning it to the family members who passed away, especially before the Chinese New Year. We believe the people who passed away are living in another world and they can only receive the money when we burn the money. This is what you saw at 14:32.

Chinatown Terreti Bazaar you have to go Sunday morning by 5-30 AM to 6 AM. Then you will get all Chinese delicacies and foods. Dont go any other day except sunday. Momos are not Chinese dish, but mostly Tibetian dish. But if you come Sunday on time you will get Chinese dishes. Tangra is a different place than Tiretti Bazaar. Tangra is old place set on swampy land by Chinese as settlement and leather factories. Tangra is near ITC hotel where you stayed. Tangra is having more homes of Chinese people. Or you go to EawChew or other authentic Chinese restaurants.

There is no such thing as Chinatown in Kolkata or the whole of India because of persecution and discrimination. The Chinese were literally expelled from India after the 1962 war. Many of their descendants are now residing in Canada. It was quite fortunate for those who left this god forsaken country. Without Chinatown, India is not a place to attract any Chinese tourists. Anyway, this dusty polluted place without much sanitary facility is not an attractive place to visit.

The newer (and perhaps cleaner) China Town is at the area right behind the ITC hotel which featured in your vlogs... The place is called Tangra or Topshia. There happened to be some tanneries around that area once upon a time, which have of course been shifted away elsewhere today. In place of those tanneries, there exists a small residential area for people mostly of Chinese descent. Excellent restaurants you can find there famous for their authentic Chinese cuisines.
