    Gasket manifold to head: 1717320020 (same for both banks)

    I have a 03 lexus es300. I just changed the oxygen sensor today bank 2 sensor 1. It's running better but still has a slight jerk and vibration. I'm going to change the other 3 sensors first before I look into changing the catalytic converter. Any suggestions based on your professional experience? Thanks

    Is there a front and back catalytic converter on this car ? I’m asking because I’m currently getting work done and feel I am getting told anything.

    What I looked up says the torque specs are 36 ftlb? Update: Spoke with Lexus dealer and the 6 nuts connecting the manifold to the head are 36 ft lb's and the two connecting to the pipe at the bottom are 46 ft lbs

    You have to take off that mount that attaches to the bottom of the cat all 3 bolts in under to pull the cat up

    Does needing manifold gasket make the car loose power ?

    • @TexThaiAuto

      That is a possibility.

      Bad gasket at colllector allows air to come into the system and cause the O2 to think the system is lean, it will richen the engine, too much. Leaks at the manifold also affect the O2 readings and cause the engine to over compensate. Thus leaks lose power in an EFI car.

    Is that bank 2?

  • @MitchelPie
    @MitchelPie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to take the intake and everything off to get at the bank 1 cat on the rear or can you get that all from underneath? Mines leaking exhaust

    • @TexThaiAuto
      @TexThaiAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to get it from underneath.

    Hey I know this was.a while ago, but do you remember how you got to the 3 bottom nuts (14mm) on the manifold?

    • @TexThaiAuto
      @TexThaiAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vehicle was lifted

    • @MitchelPie
      @MitchelPie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm fighting with this right now I believe I need to go pick up a 14mm swivel socket in order to get the bottom left and bottom right nuts off

    Are these difficult to steal? Getting paranoid they just stole my aunts on 07 accord

    • @TexThaiAuto
      @TexThaiAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Some accords will have a cat that is on the bottom of the vehicle so easy for ppl to slide under and cut it out but for these, they are apart of the exhaust manifold so they usually do not get stolen because of what needs to be done to get them off.
