Something about an Indiana Jack film....the pacing? the music? The commentary? Camerawork? Probably all of it combines with the fact that I just like Jack...always a pleasure.
How many truckers cook all of their food? I am on a special diet (not a trucker) that is called whole food-plant based and it's for good health, including heart health by lowering cholesterol. I make my food in a microwave and it's whole wheat pasta and black beans. I eat spinach on the side. If I was to keep my diet I could use a microwave in the cab and have a refrigerator for the spinach. The food program is called the Starch Solution by Dr. John Mcdougall. I lowered my cholesterol from 210 to what is now 135 and stopped high blood pressure and came off that med, plus lost 50 lbs and it's still off 3 years later. It's been so useful is why I talk about it to some people.
When you said “dang flying J is a rip-off” you sure did bring a vivid memory of my father back. He was old school trucker back before electric logs. Stops were few and far between. He always complained about the prices at the truck stops. One of the funniest things I remember him saying is “McDonald’s has really gone downhill”. Safe travels buddy
On my only trip to the US, (in the 70’s) none of the families I stayed with would even let me go into a Mcdonalds,on the grounds that the food was awful !

I run that line a lot. I like stopping in Hawthorne & Winnemucca as well. Now I’ll think of the Tremors movie when going through Lone Pine for now on! Lately that Idaho scale has been closed most of the time. Love the way you changed “rape” to “examine”. Lol !

Enjoying all your vids....once, twice...yuuup, third is a charm but I can go back a few more times. Hahahaha. I was asked about cruise control. I rarely use it. It makes me sleepy. Sometimes when I use it it's only to see our majestic mother nature in action, while I may be rarely enjoying a 50 or 55 speed.
I call those new age truck drivers who park in the fuel island, ( It's the souvenir shopping line) , they are the ones who come out with their hands full of shopping bags, after parking for over 30 minutes to 1 hour in the souvenir parking line
That younger generation grow up with mommy's credit card in there pocket they just don't understand nothing, never seen hard times never did any work. I bet 99% of them don't even know how to operate lawn mower. Mommy not going be there for them forever.

Well your obviously not one smart person. For one thing the Volvo Jack is driving is an older Volvo, and joshes is a little bit newer. That's why Jack's blinkers are louder. And not all trucks are the same, you can order them how you want it. Duh
When I started driving fuel was .85 a gallon. When I retired from R&L fuel was 1.27 a gallon, average of course. Coffee was always free with fuel and at Union 76 with a 100 gallon fuel up you got a free meal.
These are tight spots such as the Old Kmart DC, and Marshall’s and many other drop and swaps such as CVS, sometimes I had to as the yard jockey to pull the trailer out for me because there was no way I was fitting in there to raise the landing gear, unless it was dropped low enuf so it was raised up enuf to where I could pull her out (that’s what SHE Said) enuf to raise the shit up!
Jack, Loved the video, I've done 95 several times to Boise. But, I got to tell you, the goatee is looking real unkept bordering on the homeless look. Your'e a video star, keep up the image for the new truckers.
unless you like a lot of open desert, that route is boring, and i had to take it a lot north and south. climbing that one hill from Nev to Ca. and going down the other side, when you're heavy, real gem.:)

Not as much truck/ car traffic. When ya stop at a truck fuel stop if ya see a spider web on the nozzle ya know gas has not been pumped from that one for 2-3 days possibly. It would be just your fortune to be the 1 millionth truck to come to the weigh scale. Good news ya get a free coffee , picture with hwy patrol, & a 5 hr mechanical check bumper to bumper. Free refill if truck / trailer is well maintained. See ya had a donut. Life's temptations. Donuts are too doughy & sweet. Oh that's the good part. But it travels too slow from first hole to final hole. Unless you eat 2 multigrain begals first then the donut & then 2 more you guessed it multigrain begals. Ya that trucker speed like a yo-yo. No cruise control. Think I seen an interview with that driver in a newspaper from a little town population 50. Quote: I do not use cruise control because the 3 times I did use it the result was : zzz truck nearly went off the road. ( fortunately I was in a self driving truck !!! ) Cheap tools & many tools. Garden tools shop tools & tools for every hole in body. Made in the good USA or Taiwan or China or Trumpville ??? Sorry just in a crazy mood. Somehow I only get that way when watching your videos. Like Indiana Jack Twilight Zone.......

No Thanks , we who do NOT drink Coffee, Alcohol or smoke anything do Not have these annoying expenses along with the health problems... The Idaho Scale is "Always Open" as long as it generates regu lar revenue..... Harbor Freight yes I confess that I go there regularly and as the NAPA parts store guy calls it the "Ho Chi Minh Tool Company."....!
that town you got your tire changed, Jordan Valley. a little humor goes with that town. its said that's where all the "Jack Mormons" go. :) not true of course, its a nice little town with friendly people, a farming community.
Yep I started driving for them. You had to take all the hills with out the jake. Just use gear. Plus they gave you route over all mountain ranges. So did ok had a little problem with Donner pass and Tonto National forest. Before they close all truck route.
Man do I miss Winchells donuts, Jerk in the Box, in and out burger, and Carl’s Jr. none out here on the East Coast, winchells way better than Dunkin Donuts monopoly, in Victorville, California.

Fuel is high out there, western ny only around $3 dollars a gallon. Liked the drone footage pretty colors this time of year

Stevens new transport driver do not get to use the cruise control. It is shut off for a year. It is the same with the jake break part of the probation
