I have a Qashqai 2021 with the same engine HR13DDT and same thermostat housing. This video has giving me sleep problems now, damn you Nissan. Bought the car new and after a few months I realized that this car lacks coolant level sensor. Since the water temperature sensor is in the thermostat housing I suspect when all coolant is gone that the temperature gauge on the instrument panel will be very misleading since it will measure hot air. Until the driver realize something is wrong or the gauge hits the red area engine is at this point overheated and probably damaged. Oh my god what a total failed construction, a collaboration with Renault, Nissan and Mercedes.
@@sandyande Yes you are right. Honestly I love the car, I have now an inner conflict of selling it. Think I need terapi 😂. Coolant system in this car have no warning lights nor any warning messages. All it have is an water temperature gauge which should have been an oil temperature gauge, then at least the driver would have a fair chance to salvage the engine. Only solution I found to try avoid disaster is connecting an OBD II stick and monitor the oil temperature with an app on your mobile phone.
M8 it's all plastic crap gone are the days of Ali housings that lasted for years and years nothing is built properly anymore its made to a price and as much profit as possible can't be happy making reasonable profit and quality products
Driven to distruction , so many cars Sandy now have no temp gauge , drivers have no idea , thats going to be an expensive job , and thats if its not got melted pistons 😂😂😂😂
For next time - You can hear by the cadence of the engine cranking the compressions are uneven and there’s engine damage
Hi.. what tools needed to remove the thermo housing pls?
Hi Sandy ,did the new part come from Nissan , looks like it is in a Renault box Nissan £170 Renault genuine part from Renault parts direct £85
Hi, can you tell me what the tightening torque for the thermostat housing bolts are? Many thanks in advance

Frightening sandy, and I've got one of those cars. Is nothing made of metal cast these days? Ridiculous.

Ooooh headgasket job 😮, Will you guys be doing the head job? That engine looks a mare to strip down 👎
It will not be us Ryan to much pain in that job
That should be are-call from Nissan, the part is not fit for purpose. More plastic junk.
Thats what I'm sayng. This is for serious recall but I don't think there will be any
too much (plastic) in modern cars. Not planet friendly. So many fails on so many "modern" vehicles, Se you in the next one. Cheers.
