Hello again... I'm going to subscribe just for this. Loved the analysis ❤ I recommend checking out the entire album. There are no misses ❤ From the album, it may interest you to continue with "Mary, Did You Know" Jordan Smith or "What Child is This" by Evvie McKinney or "Noel (He is Born" by Stanaj or "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" by Brooke, or whichever you'd like, really. They are all masterfully sung and arranged ❤
Oh wow wowow!!! 🫨🤯 I didn't expect that!! 😲 Medieval music with a ton of surprising twists and turns! Transports you far back in time then pulls you and swings you back again. Love the "chesting" voices and the orchestra! Beautiful and so unusual! You were taken back too, weren't you Sir Hairless? I loved your reaction and the super explanation and analysis you gave! 👌 Enjoyed it a lot and will listen again many more times!! Thank you Sir H! 💥💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Tommee Profitt's Christmas album is insane - especially the live concert performance of it that you can find here on TH-cam. The ones I recommend you check out are "Noel (He is Born)" feat. Stanaj, "Mary Did You Know" feat. Jordan Smith, and especially "What Child is This" feat Evvie McKinney. There's also "Angels We Have Heard on High" that somehow includes a rap verse in the live version. That simply should not work, and yet, somehow, it does.
Yes I do so love Tommee Profitt and Jordan Smith’s Mary Did You Know. It’s my favourite version. Something about Jordan Smith’s voice ….. so pure and perfect, never sharp or flat, his breath control is amazing and technique. Very talented indeed and coupled with Tommee ….. sublime.
Wow, what an arrangement of this carol! Love it! Another version of this song to add to my playlist of O Come O Come Emmanuel, a carol I really enjoy listening to during this season of Advent. Appreciate your reaction/analysis.
Outstanding! I had heard this once before. I didn't remember I had heard it though. It's highly dynamic. I have always loved this carol. It's unusual. And the Childrends Choir is so so good! I'm so glad this was recommended to you. Thank you SH.
This is an old favorite at my church and choir standard for us, but this was so different and fabulous! I loved the dichotomy of ancient and new. Wonderful! Loved the children's choir.
Woww! This was great indeed! I know (and sing) the Carol for ages but never heard this version - fantastic! So powerful and exciting! Thank you so much for introducing me to that, dear Sir! 🙏😘
Wow! That was beautiful! Of course, I had to check out the hour of cinematic Christmas music on the card, which is beautiful also! I added it to my Spotify library and will listen to it for the rest of the Christmas season. Thank you for the wonderful r/a!
one of my favourite carols we sang at school. Our music teacher was related to John Joubert, so Torches and There is no Rose were also in the mix, along with In Dulce Jubilo, when we sang the Festival of 9 carols and lessons. Love this rendering.
Loved this! O Come O Come Emmanuel is one of my favorite Advent carols; I've sung it many times, and look forward to it every year. This was so different, and yet beautiful! Loved the harmonies in the verse O come thou Dayspring. The juxtaposition of the choir and the orchestra was really cool. Your analysis was great, as always, SH! I will definitely follow up on the hour of cinematic Christmas music. I'll be listening to this one again and again. Thank you for introducing us to Tommee Profitt. Can't wait for you to do more reviews of his work. Please react to two more stellar O Come O Come Emmanuel versions: Peter Hollens and Pentatonix.
What I found different is the lack of men’s voices. The children are wonderful and talented to do this carol. I loved the orchestra; it added another level of depth. I guess I need to learn more about Tommee Proffit. This was full of surprises! Thank you for your guidance through these interesting sounds. It was a good lesson. 🎶 Cyd
I might sound like a broken record to some because I keep saying the same thing over and over again, but I bet you'll love his entire "Birth of A King" album by Tommee Profitt. I hope Sir Hairless will react to the rest of the songs on it and give his analysis too❤
I love this performance and Tommie Profitt. Thanks for this reaction!!! You should check out the concert "The Birth of a King", It includes this performance on stage. It's awesome!!! Also, I highly recommend the tenth anniversary edition of Carrrol of the Bells, also by Tommie Profitt. Love the hat!!!
I was reminded recently in Peter Hollens compilation of old Christmas Carols how much I love "O Come O Come Emmanuel". It was sung at midnight Mass which gave it this beautiful mystical elevated Town Crier feel. This is definitely a different take. I really loved the kids choir and the violins. 😐🫣 Is this the sound you were hearing and wondering about? It reminded me of an old black and white film so I searched for this: th-cam.com/video/nn8A_Gl1MvY/w-d-xo.html (editorial) I'm so HAPPY Dianne and Chris won BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2024.🪩🎉 It was so moving and extraordinary.😢
I love his versions of Chasing Cars and Hurricane. They both feature a singer named Fleurie. Definitely give them a listen. They're very pretty. I think the sound effect is eerie because is sounds like something from The Purge or Hunger Games.
Ooh, this is a favorite slightly-less-popular Christmas song & I'm quite delighted to have found your responses b/c the only thing that really gets me interested is someone being VERY mentally & emotionally engaged.

Wow! Btw, Pentatonix has a stunning version of this carol with Avi singing the lead.

When i first heard this arrangement, I thought that it would work perfectly for an intergalactic retelling of the nativity story!
I second everyone else saying you should react to some of the live performances from his album/show “The Birth of a King.” Just stunning!
I like it.

Excellent review! My favorite song from that concert is Noel ft. Stanaj. It is powerfully amazing! Tommee is the producer of all of NFs music.
