India's low end variant (with only 2 airbags, no Electronic stability control, BLIS) scored 4 stars in Global NCAP. The highest variant in India has only 6 airbags (misses knee airbag), TCS, ESC but no BLIS. I'm sure it would be 5 star rated if tested by Euro NCAP.
Ford just launched the "new" ecosport in India and it just fantastically trimmed down all most all the cool features it offered in UK like hill assist , The St line model , heated ORVMs , blind spot indicator in ORVM , 10 speakers , heated seats ... Claps
Having driven 2014 Ford eco sport. I think this certainly looks appealing. May be once my Ford KA+ is done with finance, I could potentially be looking at this one.
WTF! look, fuck that shit man! i gave it to you an advice! you can do whatever you wanna fuck to do with you money, but let me tell you like this - here it s not about history or another bullshit you think, it s about real shit! ford it s not what you know from outside! i gave you a tip about things from inside if you know what i mean! so, fuck that! who is a noob right now?
It certainly does look quite nice. Out of interest why did the designers opt for the boot to open sideways? I know the boot wasn't opened in this video but I have seen pictures online that suggest the boot opens sideways for this recent model; I know that was a thing with the previous one too. Not saying it's a bad thing as I know some off roaders such as the Land Rover defender were like that but it's still unusual when Ford's similar classed vehicles typically open upward. Just wonder why they did it.
Democles178 - It works that way because if you choose to have a spare wheel it’s going to be mounted on the tailgate and because of the extra weight you cannot open the tailgate upwards.
Thanks Corina. Another benefit is that you can step up onto the rear of the car when loading things on the roof. This is the reason it works well for lots of vans too. Thank you.
Ah thanks for that. I know some cars have a compartment hidden under the boot for a spare wheel but it does save space to have it on the outside. Makes much more sense now. Much appreciated.
The car in the pictures is right hand drive - but the tailgate is set up for the left hand drive market and opens the wrong way for the UK market - will this be corrected on the final production version ?
Hi Jon. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching. The tailgate will be just as it is in the video, so opening from within the rear, off-side light cluster, with the hinges on the left. I don't think it's a massive negative for the vehicle. It certainly hasn't posed problems for me. But I do understand your comment. Best Regards, SB
Hi Sam, I test drove this car (1L, 125ps, manual, petrol, titanium) last week at a Ford dealer's. The drive was good even though did not get a chance to test it on a motorway. Just wondering how powerful will it be if need to overtake a slower car whilst driving in the 6th gear at 70mph? btw, 1 thing I observed during the test drive is that the engine sounded like a diesel engine. Anyways if buying the Ecosport, I will choose the magnetic colour. I think it is the best colour.
Good Morning. Magnetic is definitely a gorgeous colour, you're right! Well... the power that the 1.0 EcoBoost gives you is pretty much equivalent to your average 1.6 engine with no turbo, and, as you probably know, 1.6 has always been a popular sized engine, and isn't considered small. The overtaking power in the 1.0 is certainly good enough to keep you safe. Best Regards, Sam.
Foray Motor Group Thanks Sam for your reply with information regarding the engine power. I have ordered the 2018 new Ecosport titanium, manual transmission in the Magnetic colour. Proposed delivery is sometime in mid July. Can't wait to drive the new Ecosport.
Bought one of these.i live in canada so i have a 2.0 gas engine and not a 1.5 or a deisel.i could have went with a 1 liter engine but that would have been too weak for my liking.
Good Morning. Having driven it on various terrains for a good period of time, I can say it's sturdy, comfortable and well-designed, especially for driving around town. Compared with other SUVs I've driven, big and small, it feels more stable round corners. So I can't say I'd agree that it has 'bad shocks'. Best Regards. SB
The shocks aren't the only bad thing about it, cheap & budget tells the whole story add to that rear brake drums wow harks back to the day's of my first ever car a 1972 MK1 escort!
Hi Teacher. Drum brakes last longer than disc brakes and, in this case, are a more economical option. Neither of these vehicles mentioned are performance vehicles, and I certainly wouldn't make this a deciding factor. The Fiesta was crowned the most technologically advanced small car, on its release this year. The EcoSport has an almost identical batch of technology, integrated. If disc brakes are the best option when the All-Wheel-Drive model comes out, I'm sure Ford will be using them. Best Regards, SB
Hi Jeniffer - the CR-V is a bigger vehicle. So it depends what you're looking for. If you're looking at CR-Vs then I would compare that against a Ford Kuga if you are looking for the large size. But I'd certainly say either of these would be fine - alterations can be made as well. What area are you in? I can put one of our specialists in touch with you. Best Regards, Sam
I'm from Philippines, while browsing around here about this SUV your review were more clear and convincing, ecosport is one of my choice but i had an accident last august 31 its just that i want something comfortable and suitable. Well done team..the early morning start was well worth it!

tanvir akthar that's a bit of a shame. It's still a top vehicle if you're looking for a compact SUV though!
Mm hill assist is there in automatic I think.
But yeah would like UK spec model here
akula743 that's hill hold
Not sure about the boot door. If some one parks very close you are goosed!

Which one is better in handling and safety
Kia seltos or ecosport?
Lovely car, could not wait to get one of them.
my advice is not to buy the model until you test it and until you do a detailed visual inspection of the components!
You know why you have such stupid comments yo??? Because you are a noob, you know nothing about cars and history of Ford.

You kiddin'? It looks dreadful and cheap. The outside styling seems to be straight off the year 2008.

is it true that this new ecosport has a bad shocks ?

Does it have HUD ?
Good Morning - It does - within the Instrument cluster - what information would you be hoping to see?
.... elegance in vehicle & handsomness in driver ... ¿ what else ? ...
Does it come with rear disc brakes?
Good Morning. The EcoSport has front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Best Regards, SB
But the Fiestas come with disc brakes So that means the Hyundai Kona is a better alternative?
Hi Teacher. Drum brakes last longer than disc brakes and, in this case, are a more economical option. Neither of these vehicles mentioned are performance vehicles, and I certainly wouldn't make this a deciding factor. When will the all wheel drive be available?
I couldn't put an exact date on it at the moment but will advise that it should be within the next 4-6 months.
What has the video been taken in the dark?
