My first thought was that down south was just getting the games exclusively but then I realised (10 minutes into the video mind you) that it was referring to the switch lmao, good on mate!
Not a good sign that one of the 2 games to look forward to next year is "don't expect much, play it for what it is" lol. 2025 looks extremely lackluster

If you haven't already ventures down the rabbit hole that is trails this a good year to with the sky remake with that you can get a taste of where it started and as of Feb 25 you can get every game from zero to daybreak 2 on one console. Hopefully things go well enough to inspire the sky 2. And 3 remakes as well. This guy stands on the trails hill and I am right there with him it's literally the best series ever made. Ever. Lol
@@charlesclements7382 I got into Atelier recently, but seems like i'll have to check out the Trails series as well then, thanks for the recommendation!

But I'm also a trails fan so daybreak 2 and sky would've been enough to satisfy me lol. Throw in monster hunter wilds tho as well and my first half of the year is gonna be packed
I think CyberConnect2 are aiming to release Fuga Melodies of Steel 3 next year, but since they haven't officially announced it yet and take about a year from announcement to release it'll probably be a late 2025 to sometime in 2026 release. They said it's going to be about twice as long as the first two games, so it's understandable why it's taking longer to develop. They also said they'd probably reannounce Cecile which is another one of their Trilogy of Vengeance games which Fuga was a part of, Tokyo Ogre Gate is the third game. I don't know if the other games from this are going to be JRPGs or be turned into trilogies as well. Since they opened up a new studio in Osaka this year, are hiring more employees, and are pushing for creating more original IP games going forward I think they're a studio to look out for when it comes to JRPGs going forward. I'm kind of hoping they do a spiritual successor to .hack someday as well.
As someone who vastly prefers physical games, I hope they do something with the FUGA games. I feel like there are many people who would want that for that trilogy as I've seen many comments suggesting it to be how many that are interested in it would rather have it.
@@MiamiSunrise CC2 have stated that they'll probably do a limited run physical release if there's enough demand for it. The problem is that this is their first self published game, and it's because the digital market makes it way easier to publish their games that they were able to consider making these games. They don't have Bandai or any other big publisher's backing or resources, so physical distribution is going to be very hard for them to do with their self published games for a while. Maybe when they get to Cecile and Tokyo Ogre Gate they will try doing physical distribution.
@@TheKisekiNut I think they've been focused on Fuga to iron out the issues they might run into with self publishing. Once the 3rd game comes out the flood gates might open and Cecile and Tokyo Ogre Gate might release back to back year after year. I'm curious what they'll be doing after all of that as well. CC2's 30th anniversary is coming up in 2026, so we might get some more news about their future original projects then. Crossing my fingers for something .hack related.
I appreciate these videos cause honestly I've been so honed in on Tales of Graces F and Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (especially this one it's a MAJIMA GAME) that I didn't even look into what's coming out after them
Hoo boy, February... Daybreak 2, Like a Pirate and (not a JRPG, but still) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The other games i'm really looking forward to and definitely getting are Ateliers Yumia and Resleriana offline as well as the new Utawarerumono (not Zan, I already played that on PS4). Sky 1 too, obviously.
I really wanna see more details on the Sigma Star saga remastered or remake they’re doing. I always thought that was a really compelling hybrid concept. There are so many games that are coming up. It’s hard to know where to start, especially with a list of titles coming soon like this. Thank you TKN.
@ the announcement they made for this game was out of nowhere and not well publicized so I’m not surprised a lot of people didn’t know that they were doing this. I’m hoping it’s more than just a digital release.
Utawarerumono shiro looks really interesting. As a fan of the anime, this game would expand a lot more with regards of the story. Love to see Munechika again.
If you like the anime, you really should play the games. And if you aren't into visual novels, then play a least Monochrome Mobius, it's basically Oshotor's (and Michazuki's and Munechika's) origin story.
Many, many thanks for this list. With such a packed year upon us, having a nicely organized list of what and when is releasing like is more important than ever since some games may also easily fall through the cracks. You do great work!

Kek, so it's Genshin Impact : Wuthering Waves? 😂 Anyway, they are two different games by two different devs. Don't care about drama around them but as far as I concerned WW is already better than GI by only the fact the devs listened to players feedback, and then there is the spectacle which is also better in WW. I still play it as a collection game and some of the events legit fun. But, just like GI, I won't really put it in JRPG genre. Because how their story is structured, I think most people would be disappointed if they are expecting a JRPG from these games.
@calendar6526 I actually wouldn't mind if it's just fun and games instead of huge long cutscenes like in GI. I might give it a try. I hope it doesn't have a worldlevel mechanic.

There is a world level mechanic but it's not as limiting as in GI, it's honestly just there for you to grind (if you want to) more easily when you already reach high enough level but then again it's not that hard if your characters already maxed. I finished Death end re;Quest Code Z when it came out on PS5 last September and it is very much interwoven in the series, and while it's not a numbered entry it's not a spinoff either. Having played the first two games is a necessary prerequisite to understanding what is going on, why it's going on and who it's going on with, and it ends with a cliffhanger that literally goes "to be continued in Death end re;Quest 3"
personally, i'm trying to find more info on when "Specifically" Fate Extra Record is coming out in 2025 and if fans and gamers can get a playable demo of the game, but i've been having trouble finding it, since this game looks so amazing
I just started playing trails in the sky series about a month a ago and I'm very happy seeing they make a remake of the game with better everything from graphics to gameplay. It's not a big difference but it has a different feel and experience that makes it better since it was from pixelized to actual 3d models.
Speaking of Utawarerumono, let me also recommend *Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi and Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord* here, which are by the same company and also have excellent writing. The 1st one unfortunately never even made it to the west, so you'd need to language mod it. I hope those eventually also get remade/remastered and brought to the west and the PC.
I’m so excited for Code Z! I’d recommend playing DERQ 1 + 2 to familiarize yourself with the characters and lore since there’s plenty of time before it comes out.

Ryza funding was soo big, from their 3 games and their gacha as well that Ryza not only had a anime, it also funded 3 atelier games (sophie sequel) and 2 upcoming atelier game's, the thirst for Ryza, and their cast was huge Yippe for Moebius (utawarerumono) having a sequel;D Death end re;quest code z got cancel, sadly by Nintendo due to no no guidelines (blasphemy) Utawarerumono (for the switch) (a collection edition) i await the news
Some awesome games coming. I noticed the multiple thumbnails you used, do you find this feature to be pretty useful? Just starting out and not sure if it's worthwhile for me to utilize.
I don't really like gatcha but Wuthering Waves is pretty great. You won't even feel you are playing one. Great graphics and great combat. Also, you showed a beta footage. The final version is even better. Lunar, Suikoden and Atelier Yumia are all a must have, along with Trails of series of course.
Clair Obscura is my most anticipated game for next year. Everything I've seen so far looks promising. Hopefully it delivers like Metaphor did this year for me. I've been disappointed more often than not recently with games I've highly anticipated in the last few years. Most of those have come from Square Enix though.......
I just want to state that if I hear any of these are censoring the smallest piece of cleavage or covering up thighs because (Kotaku:female legs are gross) I will immediately lose all interest. Censorship is never ok, in my opinion, and I have been proud of myself even for games I really wanted to play; I stayed true to my principles.
Wuthering Waves: if ya already been playing on mobile or pc or both, can ya link to ps5 and continue from there or is cross play to console not available right now?
@Viewahh not that excited about it since i've already played the originals. I will be if they announce that SC will be released 3 or 6 months after FC though.
If that is the extent of 2025, then it doesn't begin to touch where 2024 was. In fact, I'm pretty let down after seeing this video. 2025 looks to be majorly disappointing for rpgs
@@julioagua Well if you're talking about Crimson Sin, it depends on your preferences. I personally love what they included as it reminds me of some of my favorite certain previous trails games ( I wont specify). Not to mention how Falcom connected almost all plot points of previous games into one and everything made much more sense.
I played Lunar Silver Star Story when a friend gave me his Sega CD back when the PS1 came out. I remember nothing about it except for a couple character designs, one of which is a, shall we say, voluptuous Villainess. Don't remember character names or the plot or anything. LOL But looks like Sky 1st Chapter, and Claire Obscur are the only one I am interested in, since I don't need a 3rd Free 2 Play game (Genshin and Star Rail are PLENTY). Maybe Resleriana, I'm not normally interested in Atelier games, but the trailer doesn't make it look terrible unlike other Atelier trailers (this is a very personal gripe), so I will keep an eye on it, and also Alabaster Dawn cuz I like the art style.
The only thing that matters here is that my eternal valentine, Fie, will be gracing us with her presence on V-Day 😍 (this is a joke btw, I’m just incredibly excited for Daybreak 2!) Also looking forward to new Atelier, Rune Factory, & Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also, 2025 wish list: - New Persona reveal - Remake of Tales of the Abyss - Extreme success for the Sky 1 Remake, so that we get full Sky & Crossbell Remakes - Falcom meets their stated goal of localization in less than a year: We get Kai no Kiseki in 2025
I still think it was a huge mistake to only remake the FC of Trails in the Sky. I'd argue, that splitting FC/SC and 3rd would be the best solution cuz of the shift in perspective to be non-spoiler-esk. In the now present case I think it won't sell very well because 70% of the interested people WILL wait for a remake of at least SC cuz they dont want to play just a fraction of the story - which has been already told.
I think I’m most excited for Claire Obscure, Trails In the Sky First, and of course Stellar Blade on PC. I’ve honestly not played any of the trails games even if I own practically all of them. 😂 I know I will love the Trails series because I love anime story driven turn based games. I only play on PC so I’m super pumped for Stellar Blade and hope Trails in the Sky the First is on PC and not just the switch.
i dunno whether am lucky or not but i don't have a significant other so Daybreak 2 on 14th Feb all the way for me. 😅 Also looking forward to Wilds, Trails in the Sky Remake (please come out of PC too) and Stellar Blade (At long last). A game i really wish for a remake or remaster is Legend of Dragoons.
Sigh no stellar blade for the switch mm😭 oh well at least I can play it on my PS5😂 Still it would be lovely to be able to play stellar blade on the go… hopefully the new switch system will see a port of stellar blade❤❤ definitely be a day 1 buy for me if that happened. Otherwise I’m not sure I’ll be getting the new system 🤔 Appreciate the list of games thanks definitely some on here I’ll be looking into

Ryza funding was soo big, from their 3 games and their gacha as well
that Ryza not only had a anime, it also funded 3 atelier games (sophie sequel) and 2 upcoming atelier game's, the thirst for Ryza, and their cast was huge
Yippe for Moebius (utawarerumono) having a sequel;D
Death end re;quest code z got cancel, sadly by Nintendo due to no no guidelines (blasphemy)
Utawarerumono (for the switch) (a collection edition) i await the news
Some awesome games coming. I noticed the multiple thumbnails you used, do you find this feature to be pretty useful? Just starting out and not sure if it's worthwhile for me to utilize.
I don't use it all the time. It's a bit flawed in terms of the metrics it uses to measure CTR.
Finally i find out March 3rd for my suikoden remastered. also a suprised Utawarerumono info.
My most anticipated ones are XBX, Rune Factory and Fate Extra
that new utawarerumono game has caught my interest as i'm a fan of the series
That Claire Obscure is the first game that made me want a ps5 even a little bit.
Atelier Yumia looks like a banger I'm looking forward to finally getting to play Wuthering Waves properly my phone couldn't handle it.
May want to check Ratatan which made by same team as Patapon and planned to release in 2025 as well.
After all these years, Fate/Extra remake finally coming out. I can finally play that Tamamo route once again
I've played Freedom Wars and I'm damn excited for the remaster.
The best thing in the video is the background music ❤
What was the game at the very beginning of the video?
JRPG saving the world of video games, again.
2025 is stacked! And this is just what’s been announced so far. Still holding onto cautious optimism we could get Kai western release by end of 2025 🤞
We're definitely getting more, maybe some come the end of the year, and a lot more come 2025 as well.
me thinking how I will juggle my time between a 12 hour work shifts, Civ 7 and Daybreak 2 on Feb
Shocked you didnt cover Tribe Nine currently set for Feb.
I don't really like gatcha but Wuthering Waves is pretty great. You won't even feel you are playing one. Great graphics and great combat. Also, you showed a beta footage. The final version is even better. Lunar, Suikoden and Atelier Yumia are all a must have, along with Trails of series of course.
stellar blade modders thank you in advance
Clair Obscura is my most anticipated game for next year. Everything I've seen so far looks promising. Hopefully it delivers like Metaphor did this year for me. I've been disappointed more often than not recently with games I've highly anticipated in the last few years. Most of those have come from Square Enix though.......
can't wait to play all those games!!!
Tales of Graces? Let’s go!! The only reason I kept my PS3 is being remastered!!!
i hope atelier on xbox does really well so we can continue getting more games on that platform. little bit weird resleriana is not announced on it.
Trails in the sky REMAKE??? OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG i was not expecting.. AWESOME!!!! 😍😍😍
I wish Atelier games weren't so easy so I wouldn't get so bored of them.
omg xillia leak ! thank you ! i was praying that would come to pc !
I Sky will launch with the Switch 2 I will lose my mind.
A perfect way to go into the next generation
lol the JRPG I’m looking most forward too is the Dragon Quest 1-2 HD-2D remake. It wasn’t on this list tho lol
15:52 Anyone who gives a shout out to the Shy series is good in my books!
Shy needs more love
Wait, Xilia coming to pc? Finally. I loved that one.
about time someone mentions fate extra record
Daybreak 2 is probably my only day 1 purchase. The others i'll wait for a sale. Still have a ton of jrpg backlogs😢
Uhh sky...?
@Viewahh not that excited about it since i've already played the originals. I will be if they announce that SC will be released 3 or 6 months after FC though.
I preordered the collectors edition about half a year ago :D
I really appreciate these videos. It great to know what to keep an eye on. Really looking forward to freedom wars.
Touhou has some really great fan games so I'll be keeping an eye on Labyrinth
If that is the extent of 2025, then it doesn't begin to touch where 2024 was. In fact, I'm pretty let down after seeing this video. 2025 looks to be majorly disappointing for rpgs
Trying to pretend that these releases even come close to 2024 which had some bangers is wild lol.
No it’s not last year was crap you people are dumb
Trails in the Sky: The First is the first game from falcon with german subtile yeah ❤❤❤
14:14 visual novel - srpg hybrid is basically a Fire Emblem :)
Praying for Kai 2 announcement in 2 weeks 🙏
Is it true it is a bad game?
@@julioagua He's not talking about Daybreak 2.
@@julioagua Well if you're talking about Crimson Sin, it depends on your preferences. I personally love what they included as it reminds me of some of my favorite certain previous trails games ( I wont specify). Not to mention how Falcom connected almost all plot points of previous games into one and everything made much more sense.
@@albundy1485 Oh, sorry, I confuse both! So, is Daybreak 2 bad?
@@julioagua O cara acabou de falar que gostou do jogo ( Crimson sin é Daybreak 2 )
Still waiting if Tokyo Clanpool will make 2024 or will be moved to 2025...
Also, 2025 wish list:
- New Persona reveal
- Remake of Tales of the Abyss
- Extreme success for the Sky 1 Remake, so that we get full Sky & Crossbell Remakes
- Falcom meets their stated goal of localization in less than a year: We get Kai no Kiseki in 2025
other games that I think should be included: AI Limit & Tales of Seikyu
I'm happy: Only three games so far for me: Daybreak 2, Suikoden and Fate Remaster. Too many games can be overwhelming!
Didn't expect daybreak 2 release that fast
Time to play daybreak 1 then
Tales of Graces F Remastered, Xenoblade X Switch and Trails Sky the First are my like top 3 RPGs im lookin forward to!
I see utawarerumono I click.
You missed Dynasty Warriors Origins on January 17. If we're including MonHun, DW deserves it too.
Legend lad, ty ty
So hyped for Clair Obscur
Tales of Xillia is so underrated. It's very high time it finally gets to other platforms.
keep it hidden, it was not underrated at all, it was bad
Funny way to spell Legendia.
Also looking forward to Wilds, Trails in the Sky Remake (please come out of PC too) and Stellar Blade (At long last).
A game i really wish for a remake or remaster is Legend of Dragoons.
Sigh no stellar blade for the switch mm😭 oh well at least I can play it on my PS5😂
Still it would be lovely to be able to play stellar blade on the go… hopefully the new switch system will see a port of stellar blade❤❤ definitely be a day 1 buy for me if that happened. Otherwise I’m not sure I’ll be getting the new system 🤔
Appreciate the list of games thanks definitely some on here I’ll be looking into
Pretty nice list 👍
