    690 to small, 1090 too big, 790 looks just right! Please bring to market, this is what I want!!

      @cam land you r Right. But what you searching for is the 790 Adv R! Don't think that the 790 isn't less powerfull than the 950 ! And the Twin is much more usable in Adv. riding than a V configuration.

    We’ve been waiting for years for this size and configuration of the Adventure, hurry up on production, spec with Excel A60 wheels, higher spec’ WP suspension and 15,000 Klm service intervals.. I’m ready and waiting to buy! 👍🏻✊🏻

    The 790 is where KTM should have started there twin adventure lineup. Anything over 100 hp is just adding weight to an already obese dirt capable machine. If you look closely the 790 has a hard time overcoming gravity compared to the other bike and that’s nothing new for any twin. I’m sure the lack of vibration compared to a large single will be very welcomed but when this beast follows you to the ground it’s going to leave a mark!

      I like the additional 50 hp my 1190 has for highway travel. As much as we like to believe we are Chris Birch that simply isn't true for the majority of riders. While I agree the 790 is a welcome addition to the adventure lineup saying that it is an obese dirt machine is like asking why a motocross bike doesnt have panniers.

    It's finally getting lighter - adventure bikes need to be easy to ride offroad (lighter) and have longer service intervals. I love the look of the bike and fancy a test ride to see how heavy it is once on the gas. A production 390 or 450 with these attributes mentioned is what I'm after.

      Seeing as it is harder to meet emission standards with big singles, my guess is down the line KTM will produce a ~500-600cc Adv R from this engine much like they did with their big v-twin adv bikes.

    I'll take the 450 too, but the 790 is to me the most promising production adventure bike EVER! KTM, please DON'T fit smaller wheels, lower seats, lower suspension, and do keep it under 170kg...

    Nice! World needs more mid-class adv bikes. The 1200 behemoths are being used as sport-touring bikes on asphalt and they’re pigs on anything unpaved. The 1090 Adv R is about the best thing I have seen on the market, along with the Africa Twin Adventure Sports, in terms of bikes that are lighter, have useful but not crazy power, but are also big enough to put some real distance on.
    I hope this 790 Adventure doesn’t have some dinky peanut gas tank. Needs to have enough range that I can strap on some soft bags and actually go *adventuring* many miles out into the middle of nowhere.
    Next question: will it be available in the Philippines? That’s where I will be adventuring next... many lonely roads hours from services, and lots of seriously unimproved areas where real dirt bike capabilities are needed... hence it needs to be light and nimble, PLUS have enough gas to get me to the next fuel stop.

      that's unnecessary divisiveness. i ride a gs and appreciate ktm for always pushing the envelope and the competition. though, i would ride my bike like this, the type of riding in this video is not what appeals to most gs or adventure riders. what percentage of adv riders would ever ride their bike like this? less than 1%? what percentage of eventual 790 adv owners will ever ride like this? less than 1%? reality is that most adv riders are over 40/50 yrs old and don't push their bikes. a ktm 690 enduro will do everything in this video and then some and also travel around the would and still weighs 60 lbs less. how many 690 owners ride like this? less than 1%? really, as shot, in capable hands, most all the riding in this video could be accomplished on a gs rallye or 1290 adv r

      grace on 2wheels I doubt many people could ride a 1200 like that if they wanted to. It's a damn near 600lb bike.
      I know several 690 owners who take them on single track and it's not very nice on the street so the 790 definitely has a place if it stays light ish

      i agree that few riders could ride a 1200cc adv bike like these guys and i believe a similar percentage of people could ride a 790 like these guys or even a 350. i ride my 690 almost everywhere a smaller bike will go -a bit slower with an equally skilled rider. 690 works well enough on the street. i've ridden 350 mile days of street riding with knobbies on 690 and, as setup, it worked fine. i prefer my r1200gs lc on the street to 690 and probably 790.

    So the 790 Duke has a 3.7 gallon tank. KTM better put something decently sized on the 790 AdvR.

    Super. But can anyone explain to me why the auxiliary tank is mounted below where the bash plate is(KTM says for achieve a better low centre of gravity)? Looks very dangerous to me. If it is a rally bike derived model then why not at the back just like the rally bike?

      790 Duke is out in Europe. There's some exhaust clips around now, of the 285° parallel twin.

    Da hab ich meine 640 Adventure lieber !!!
    Mit einem vernünftigen Fahrwerk ist die Ktm Lc4 Adventure nach wie vor die Sportlichste Adventure die ktm jeh gebaut hat!!!!!

    Imagine same design but with smaller engine..let say 510..!
    Now 790 vs gs750..
