- I've watch a few clips on the new 2022 Royal Enfield Classic 350 where reviewers say it doesn't sound as good as a 500 -Sounds to me like they don't know the bikes!

I have an interceptor and r nine t, but have been subscribed for a while, think the classic 350s are great looking and sounding bikes stock. As for subscribers, I think your content is great, lovely bikes and great scenery on your ride outs, narratives are interesting and well presented, stick with it

Heard the Classic 350 for the first time in the flesh yesterday at a RE dealer open day - I think it sounds great.
I also popped the same end cans on my Interceptor that you showed in this vid, I did get some baffles though - they sound mega.

thanks. ive been using them on and off now for several years on different enfields i do think they sound meaner on the 650...much more of a bark...lol more like a cattledog than a sheep dog...lol

Definitely the classic sounds much better with the stock exhaust, I for one will not be messing with mine.
one thing about exhausts. there are always choices. plus i think one must have good audio to appreciate this muffler.
i put it against hitcocks muffler 4 years back and i had 2 of those and this one outperformed it while running a power commander on a C5 -but either way i don't like loud exhausts so its only a sample clip
Ditto, apart from the sound, the original exhaust looks the business and is in keeping with the retro style of the bike.

I am only listening on a I pad but for the difference in sound on the 350s I'd sooner spend the money on beer 🍺 and keep the stock exhaust lol 😆
you need to spen a bit more money on audio or you may be tone deaf...lol
I don't like loud bikes...period. I hate them if I have to be honest.
@@arthol51 don't like them either...lol thats why i ride stock bikes now. this is just a look with new old stock and gives an idea on how it sounds.
but will i ride either 350 long distance with one. short answer no as i don't want to attract attention along the back roads

So where do I get the after market exhaust for the 350 classic
I laid my old Dad to rest in 2013, followed by my eldest brother 12 months ago. A wealth of knowledge gone, and now no longer available to me.
But, I found your channel 24 hours ago, and haven't stopped thanking the Good Lord for answering my prayers since!
Please,, don't be discouraged, old fella. Just keep doing what you've been doing. You're on the right track. Don't look to the left, nor look to the right, just hold your head up high, and keep going. Because the experience and wisdom you impart, is very much needed, and will reach the right people, at the right time, through this channel.

Stock exhaust sounds fine to me. Louder is not always better, it's more about the quality of sound, the timbre. Loud exhausts can be tiring to the rider, as someone else has mentioned. We also have to think about the impression they give to the public, motorcycling needs friends! I'm really enjoying your series on the Classic 350, you've convinced me to put down a deposit on one - in Chrome Bronze.
i actually liked the chrome broze myself but none were available here when i looked. in fact the dealer i bought thos marsh grey had every colour except the chromes. i was informed they were on back order and next delivery.
good choice on the bike and you'll be very happy with it. pretty smooth runner

well it may be true or not but this is the best exhaust for the money. i once spend $3500 on a sports exhaust for a mx5 turbo-looking back i think i paid too much...lol

I too heard the 2022 350 Classic in the flesh last week and must say I thought it sounded very nice with the factory muffler.
R.E. have done an excellent job with the bike , For what its worth IMHO all mufflers deepen up in note over time as they too wear in.
Besides , You already paid for it in the price of the bike , May as well use it up first. 👍🏻😁

good way to look at it. i had the mufflers on hand but where 10 years ago i wanted noise -not so now. i may try it for a run but after that stock as im sure it will be loud on the road just like when i rode the 500's with same set up.
what i did notice the muffler is far more shorter in the length than a stock 500 one
they did a good job on the design side of the bike in all areas
It SURE SIUNDS MORE AUTHENTIC with stock exhaust 👍
i like the bubbling and popping from the stock. it reminds me when i put the sports pipes on a stock interceptor i did the same on back-offs but usually from a cold start
this exhaust does it all the time and its much smaller than a 500 exhaust
it would be interesting to run this stock on a 500 to see how it sounds

thanks. ive only had it out a couple of times and the tracking is spot on. further on i am running close on 70 kph and its tracking perfectly in all direction and only 20 feet out.

Great vid again, and will save me some cash not getting the bash plate, and the new exhaust does sound a bit better, reminds me of my mutt 125 I had as a Lerner, keep the videos coming , I for one am glad you are taking the time and effort to show us wot you are doing to the bike ,wot works and wot dose not ,you probably will get more subs as this bike is looking to be a big seller all over the world especially now petrol is up to £7 a gallon in the uk ,,with no sign of it stopping

yeah i wasn't too impressed with the bash plate unless i had no choice but do lots or dirt klm. i don't think that will happen as just after drone footage and try it out.
my thoughts being the plate tainted the bikes rep as a very low vibrating machine as i noticed the difference immediately.
its off now and some-one did mention rubber washers on the bolts to absorb the vibes.
pity they dont make an abs plastic one -i'd like to try one but its more on japanese bikes
it was a youtuber crf300l rider who said steel vs plastic was far more vibey and he was spot on too

Those cones sound great on the classic and the interceptor especially. I want that sound for my 350, but still with the peashooter style

Greetings Warro, I HONESTLY do not know whereto start.
I am TRULY OVERWHELEMED by the 350 Classic.
I was going to list the things I love point by point.
There is NOTHING that I dislike about the 350 Classic. NOTHING.
It is just a TRULY BEAUTIFUL machine.
I thought (knew) my graphite n chrome 500 Classic was 'GOOD', but this bike is SO MUCH MORE Classic!!! GORGEOUS machine.
I LOVE it. It WILL BE a 'keeper'. (till I can no longer further ride)
YES, You were Correct, you represented the bike exactly as you said.
Sometime soon I will 'upgrade' the muffler. I personally do prefer a more 'thumper sound'.
I have already sent the '2 black oval covers' just below each side of the seat to be chromed. My personal liking. He quoted me about $130 each and said it will take about 1 week. So be it. I'm happy, that's all that matters.
I just LOVE it. BEAUTIFUL bike in the true sense of the word.
I removed the passenger seat when I arrived home. Could not get access to the nuts to remove the rear foot pegs.
I bought a red Permanent marker to highlight the Royal Enfield logo's!!!!!!! (THANK You)

Thanks for the comparisons, I took the original Enfield exhaust of my 2020 Classic 500 and dropped it in the bin and bought a Hickscocks peashooter exhaust and fitted it with the long baffle and a fined tip.
I also cut the Hickscocks header pipe and weld on the Enfield finned section that bolts to the head, she sounds a little load but as the saying goes if its tooo loud the your tooo old.

I haven't heard the 350 in the flesh yet, but from your vids it sounds great to me. Did I spy pannier racks on the Signals edition? 😎Are you getting the canvas panniers?
yeah you did see one rack..very observant there. i have bought a set of canvas bags but have not arrive yet.
i plan to fit a rear rack-hasn't arrived yet and put a platform plate then throw the bags over it.
thats the plan as i require room to cart my stuff for the cooking crap...lol

bought them of ebay under 19" shorty for roughly $90 ea. that was about a year back but i've bought them over many years.

Glad you like them! im pretty happy with the drone. its does quite a lot and i have not touched or used any of the trick shots. well worth the money
it was put up against the dji air2 i think and this once ran through the trees easily and the dji crashed first minute.
i actually had the air 2 but too hard to use...lol but much cheaper to buy

@@stevobadmoonster i used the gopro 10 on linear and ran a rode wireless go2 mic. thats the simpliest way for me and thats why i bought the easy to use drone...lol even though it was a bit expensive-i dont care as long as i can get some shots...lol
i hate hard to use electronics...too old for it or i think i am.

I for one appreciate your experience with these bikes. Did I miss where you said which exhaust you installed on the Halcyon? Hoping to pick one up this year and I'll trust your judgement on the end can, if I know which one to purchase.
I think sound is one of the most difficult things to convey in a video. Camera mics and computer speakers just don't come close to rendering sound as it is in person.

Hi Warro, fantastic video as usual. Enfield have nailed the exhaust note for me. I love that it pops and burbles on mine in a way that it really shouldn’t on a modern fuel injected motorbike.
The clip of the Interceptor had me thinking a comparison between that and your 350’s might be interesting to watch. I realise they are very different bikes but, unlike many on TH-cam, you own and ride your bikes a lot and have a strictly no BS approach to your channel which is great. Just a thought anyway.

Whatever I buy whether it’s “budget” or “premium” first and foremost I want value for money and I’m not really interested in “prestige” whatever that even means. People like you TH-cam is great in helping us make those choices and it’s much appreciated.

Well Warro I'm not sure what's up with people but they all sound like music to me. I have a 500 and it doesn't sound any different to your new 350s. I cant wait for my new classic chrome to arrive. and the 500 is going . Im selling it because I think the new 350 is just as good. if not better. I wish I had ordered the army colour you have there. it looks the dogs pal Ride safe and keep on with the videos I look forwards to the .
you'll notice one big improvement for sure ...........and its a very good one

I took the rear seat off too and had to adjust the gear lever upwards.
pretty quick mod to do and even better with heel and toe shifter

And sometimes the louder pipe sounds nice but then one must keep in mind that the louder creates more fatigue on longer rides. I have a 2003 Harley 883 Sportster with non stock slip -ons on it and a 1997 Honda Pacific Coast with stock exhaust. They are similar sized Vtwins but ooooh that PC sure is nice to travel on.
Very true! i like louder ones for a novelty type 15 minute burst but after that usually go back to stop till i require another fix and a re-instal...lol

I have been comparing classic 350 and the Meteor and it seems the Meteor has a huge dustbin like thing under the bike as part of the silencer. I thought the engine and pipes would be the same on both bikes. I'll deffo be getting the 350 classic now.
i have noticed that myself but i have never seen a meteor up close so cant really comment on that side of it. i bought the classic simple because ive had classic 500's and wanted to stay true to that side.
so far pretty happy with both choices.

The stock muffler sounds OK to me. But with a deeper tone it would sound even better. It is kind of a moot point in California, though. No one is allowed to sell a non-stock muffler here unless it is factory approved and if they are a retailer they can be fined thousands of dollars for doing so. Of course that doesn't keep an owner from finding a non-stock muffler somewhere, such as off of eBay, and installing it themselves since there are no motorcycle inspections of any kind in this state after the initial sale.
no inspections period...after the first. thats interesting to know. not many places do that.
@@ridewithwarro A few years ago Revzilla was fined something like $130 million for selling non-stock mufflers to residents of California by the state's EPA. I think they agreed to pay $1.3 million so that they wouldn't have to go to court and fight the fine. When I bought my UK-made sports muffler from Classic Motorworks, the U.S. RE importer at the time, 8 years ago I was advised that I could only use it on a closed-course and could not ride my Bullet on public streets with that muffler. Tough crowd. It sure is a good thing that we also do not have any yearly equipment inspections here. lol

just a 19" shorty i got off ebay. used the same exhaust on several 500's and found it pretty good in performance and price.

Hopefully RE will start selling a left hand side pannier + frame for the vast majority of countries in the world that do not allow people to sit side-saddle.
The stock exhaust sounds great to me but then I have never bothered to change the exhaust on any bike I have owned.
no i had it on the other bike and bought it across. ive ordered saddle bags for it so when the come i will see if i can fit them some-how. i have ideas so i will see what happens there

Warro wouldn't worry about them Vs you. As you said, That's the way it goes. TH-cam can screw people over but time & effort in will ultimately prevail. If I were you, and I'm nobody, I'd consider making a few shorts. Some from the drone, others riding on the dirt, And deffo make a short from this. Like little info shorts about the RE classics etc.

you're right about the other reviewers.
they just spout the same crap as each other so they don't sound stupid.
there's too many of them knocking out 15 minute videos that only tell you the specs, opinions on looks and nice little review of the ride, then they move onto the next bike and do the same bloody thing.
it's the TH-cam equivalent of going to McDonald's. you get the same stuff every time.
I'd rather watch people like you who put their money where their mouth is and buy the bike and ride it, modify it and then give an honest opinion if it's money well spent.
yeah even i find it hard to believe why some would take so much notice of a 20 minute bike review. i mean its something more like this.
say a guy buy someone a beer..after the taste test does he say thanks mate it's great or this tastes like $hit...lol

The interceptor swapped exaust sounds fantastic what a sound no comparison to the stock as for the 350 swapped exaust sounds great
I agree with you there are a lot of people out there don't no what there talking about these stock exausts are crap
good exhaust for $90 compared to paying top $$$ and ideal if one is on a tight budget and they come with reducer/bracket etc.
just bolt on and go. in fact i was a bit surprised really. it was a better straight on fit on this new 350 compared to when i ran them on the 500's

yes there is and the meteor unit i was told is a different tune. got this from the official powertronic guy himself.this is the new release especially for the new 350 classic and was just released and purchased directly from powertronic web site
price came in in aud$250 plus $60 for postage.
rather than waste money wait a few days till i get mine and i can tell you if its worth buying or not.
that way you'll know first hand and i always tell it how i see it so nohing to lose

The sports exhaust sounds correct I believed. Should have revved some more on the sports exhaust to know more of it's sound.
i will rev it out a bit tomorrow on the road as i test out the powertronic fuelx controller as i run it through its 10 preset programs

I think so too! plus much quieter too. but the youtube audio upload was a disappointment for me. don't know what went wrong but if some-one walked in the yard and said i want to ride one - the sports exhaust sound would win them over and very easy.
one thing about the tube. one can suppy 4k clips and they look bad and so too with the sound as it was taken on my new wireless mic.
they both sounded fantasic on my computer but thats how it goes.
either way exhausts aside these are great bikes and much better than some say

Halcyon Grey sounded better to me.
yeah i'm not too keen on any sports mufflers that why i took them off. this was just a sample but it performs really good with this system on a 500
i just tried it again and its a great sounding muffler which would have some drool over.
im not here to supply their audio just the clips...lol

@@ruahinesrider when you upload stuff to youtube always issues with clips and sometimes audio. last few clips have been shot in 4k and i cant see any difference than 1080p

I had canvas bags on my 500 Im hoping they fit on the frame work of the 350 when it arrives.
i'm working on that idea so will see what happen in the next week. i think they look good with the canvas bags
I Have put a Goldstar exhaust on my 500 and a Hitchcock's peashooter. Between the 3 (including stock) I prefer the peashooter. For me it's not just the sound but the appearance.. the peashooter looks more retro appropriate. All that being said, the stock 350 sounds ( and looks ) far better than the stock 500. That exhaust looks like a telephone pole on it's side.
yeah i ran that hitchcocks muffler on 3 or 4 of my previous 500's. i liked the first couple i bought. they had removeable baffle then the next couple arrived with a fixed baffle plate.
i found the bike didn't perform as good with this so used a long drill bit to open up the holes

not really but my thoughts would e the bike is pretty good just in stock form so i'd leave it that way. my two 350's are running totally stock and i find less issues too
Like the look and sound of the stock better I I want to make more noise I’d cut the db killer out of the stock but the beauty of being an older rider is you’ve had your years of riding with your hair on fire randomly deafening the public. Now I just want to be left alone and ride off to go fishing, quietly.
exactly ...i too ride both bikes stock system. in the end there is just so much noice one can take...lol

Stock exhaust sounds just fine to me the after market on the halcyon looks good and to me just a little more throaty. Keep going Warro ignore the naysayer. Your vids are perfect and informative. Your Channel will grow nice n steady and still be here when the bullshitters have gone away. 👍🏴
yeah i plan to ride on alright. bought all the cook stuff to do the series. now all i have to do is learn to cook...lol and the party starts

G'day Warro, the sound of the exhaust system is a personal choice, what you like the next person might not, l bought 2sets for my Interceptor before l found the sound l liked, the only reason l changed from standard was weight, with you 350 model the standard exhaust look and sound fine and there is not much difference between the two in tone, anyone who thinks theirs is better than your choice is a child playing games and needs to grow up, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
i don't even like loud exhausts now but i had these in stock from other rides so slapped them on. i ride with earplugs in anyway as the older you get the better idea to protect what little hearing you have left...lol
my main point on this clip was if they want to compare exhaust - di it fairly put either 2 stock bikes together or two sports exhaust bikes. not run one with sports and the other stock and say the 500 with sports sounds much better.
when you test stuff -you must play fair!
i favor no bikes really. just get on and ride and if i dont like cash it off and ride again.
these must be pretty good bikes. one has 2200 klm on it and still here.
the record of buying and selling it stands at just 18 klm...lol but i don't put up with what i bought just to save losing face just admit i was wrong and carry the loss and get rid of it and go again...lol
been like that now for 50 years so i cant see it changing yet.

I bought a new Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, ($19,500) and sold it/traded it 12 days/1100 klms later. NO REGRETS. That's life. Lost $6K . I moved on. Traded it on a BMW R Nine T GS Urban. (3 mth wait)
Today I bought a RE 350 Classic identical to yours. (collect tomorrow) This one will be a 'keeper'. I LOVE your muffler, I will try and find it on Ebay. I believe after test riding the C350 today the bike REALLY felt 'Restricted'. I could NOT believe how SMOOTH and Different it felt compared to my C500. (trade in, $3,000 change over)
CAN'T WAIT to get it!!!

@@tpv59 drz400e nice bike but the seat height totally threw me and i didn't feel comfortable. i'd say 35" seat height is my limit...lol after that not so.
if i can find the muffler clip i'll let you know. more importantly wait it out till my powertronic fueler arrives and i can test it with muffler to give you some idea.
in exchange all you have to do is ride the new bike tomorrow and get back here and say-what you honestly think...good or bad experience and did i represent it incorrectly or correctly

Ha ha ha. I also had a Drz 400 and KNOW EXACTLY what you mean. TOO TALL. I am 5'8 '' and a half (!!!) and it was simply TOO TALL. 935mm seat height.
In the bush it was NOT fun. LONG story short I sold it and bought a SMALL dirt bike. - PERFECT. (still have it and will NOT sell it. Honda CRF 150F. PERFECT.)
To be honest, I know Nothing about the powertronic fueller (mapping?) Sounds VERY interesting I must admit.
I am picking up the RE 350 Classic about 10am tomorrow morning. I had a test ride on their demo. I LOVED it!!! So SMOOTH. I did like the vibration though from my 500 Classic, AND the kick starter. I Love the kick starter. (old school) I will mis the kick starter!!
I would say you obviously represented the C350 PERFECTLY. I will give you my honest thoughts and opinion on it tomorrow.
I KNOW it will be a GREAT experience! I KNOW it!

@@tpv59 to really test this new 350 the real test would be against the old carby 350 -i once had a genuine xygt falcon 4 speed but years ealier i drove the gtho -both looked almost id but not when it came to the pedal.....lol and you kicked it in the guts...lol

i cant find the guy on ebay in oz i bought it off. what you are looking for is a 19" shorty muffler by emgo i think. they were once only aud$100 but like everything lately it may now not ne the case.
they sound pretty good especially on the 500's
i still dont mind the satock unit myself for the more peacful ride.
i found these sports muffler were a bit hard on the ears after a while but saying that i still enjoyed the thrill...lol

I like the sound of the new exhaust, but I don´t think the look of it fits the motorcycle so well as the original.
yeah its only there as a demo my new old stock...lol but once i get a run out of it i will be back to the stocker. i like the quiet ride in the bush now but i will test ride it later on this bike

must be good i would not have bought the second. when the opportunity arrives -you should try one out. did you see the new drone in action-previous clip tracking at 60 kph. pretty impressive

yeah i think its good too plus you get the burbles and pops on back off the throttle and its not offensive to the ears.
Aftermarket exhaust sounds much better

i can't figure it out really. i can tell them all they want to know and how to fix some issues AND as soon as i tell them the trutch...out ride 20 subs or more.

here i buy all the bikes and cameras and other stuff and lots are too miserable just to give a thumbs up but crawl across to the other channels.

there is only one good thing about this channel - it may not be worth much in view content but i guarantee i will never ask any-one for anything anytime.

I watch a lot of Royal Enfield rides...especially rides through India those guys have balls of steel and never lose their shit...I watch Filingham as well but he tends to waffle on a bit... Royal Enfield wanderer is OK and theres another pommie bloke who mentioned you in his video only a few days ago. More Indians should be watching your channel mate...maybe some Hindi in the thumbnail...there are bloody millions of them and your maintenance vids should really appeal to them. Do you still have a 500 in your stable ?
