Great video as always Jason! Personally, lumens, specs-aside, I'm not set on the design of the J3 (especially the turn signal arrows). Using an actual "arrow" design seems like a kindergartner designed it. I would've liked to have seen the turn signal feature built into the J2 design. The arched halo would've been perfect for this. Turning it from white to amber whenever the turn signal was activated. Perhaps even make them sequential as to animate the signal as seen on some of the modern automobiles nowadays. Just my 2 cents. I realize looks are subjective, so no right or wrong, just my opinion for JW Speaker...
Looks like we need a nighttime jeep adventure. I would like to see the beam pattern. The 5.5 inch jw speakers I have for my BMW are great, but has odd shadows from the multiple projectors. Another great video. Keep it up.

The lights look cool, but I thought there was a DOT rule that about the blinker needing to be a certain distance away from the main headlight. It looks like the turn-signals "get lost" in all that light the normal light is putting out. Nice install!
That was just my fault leaving the camera in "auto exposure" mode. The DOT rule is that they have to be 2.5x brighter than a standard DOT turn signal and these are. I have been on many sketchy two lane country road scenarios just since the install and found the lights to do a fantastic job of letting other drivers know what my intentions are... plus I've actually watched a few people do double take and give me a thumbs up!
Jason Any update on how these are holding up or what you have come to like/hate about this setup... Anything you’ve changed since installing? Any tips?
I love the headlights. Amazing coverage but I never use the bluetooth interface in the wild... takes too much time. If cost is no object they are awesome but for what I actually use... the J2 are the best thing on the market.
I just got this setup and will be doing the install...what type of connectors are those that you used on the Trail 6 Pros? I will be running them to a switch - don't have the setup you have - using the center console switch pod. I like the way you did them so they can be unplugged if needed.
I bought the bluetooth turn signal trail pro 6 lights and the J3s. My honest review: Don't get bluetooth anything for lighting on a Jeep that requires logins, passwords and prevents you from changing settings if you do not have cellular or wifi access, such as when you are out on the trail. The app developed by JW Speaker has me resetting the password every single time I try to login to work with the lights. Imagine being all the way out on the trails and having no signal and you are again, locked out of the account? I have stopped trying to use the app and am grateful that my J3 lights are just controlled by the regular headlight functions in the Jeep. The rest of the lights are controlled with switches instead of the bluetooth app. This is beyond frustrating. I have written to the company multiple times and have had zero response. Are the lights good? The turn signal replacement lights failed within five weeks and were replaced with the non-bluetooth versions. I bought two more pairs and have them mounted on the cowls and the bumper for extra light at night. The lights themselves are bright, but the other downside: I cannot change the lighting to amber and there does not seem to be any replacement lenses to handle that function. The brightness is phenomenal, and as these replaced some junk Chi-Copies from Amazon that were not DOT approved and could not light up the road, I am ultimately happy that I can see in the rain, dust, fog, etc., with this setup. I recently added the JW Speaker fog lights and those are pretty easy to install once you figure out the brackets. The aiming is easy and should be done at 25 feet to ensure that the light from the fog lamps is hitting at the bottom of the correctly aimed beams from the headlights.
Hey Jason, awesome install. I’m about to install these and at the Jeep grill with the 4 wires from the lights. Did you double them up on to one weather connector? I assume you did so it would be one connector across

You ran the wires from the locker to the wire for switch 5 or you skipped that wire from the box and ran it all the way back to the switch itself. Sorry for the questions. Thank you
@@BobMillerHome Happy to answer... I took the power wire for switch 5 and spliced it onto the activation wire right from the relay for the front locker (I forget the stripe color but I mention it in that video) and did the same for switch 6 and the rear locker activation wire.

Hey I'll take anything you don't want off your hands for my jk... Jk Love your videos you break things down so well you make it look easy. Been a fan for a while now.
I wanted to ask, did you splice into the power wire or the switch wire for the fog lights to run through the Painless trail rocker? I'm looking to do the same, but I'm a little unfamiliar with the electrical. I remember you doing this from your first JW install. Great video!
I wish there was a way to wire the Trail 6 lights so they maintain turn signal functionality as well. Can't justify J3 headlights since I already have J2s but would like to add the Trail 6 lights.
Put the trail 6 lights on your A pillar or an the bumper... I ended up running them a bunch on the road trip during really bad weather and not a single person high beamed me so they are very civilized on the highway!
Jason, I'd love for you to school me on how you spliced your wires together...The Trail 6 is my next instal. Looks liked you trimed the wire closest to the weatherpack. Also, did you use a multiple wire connector to splice the four wires into two? Always learning something new...
Jason, another great homerun install video! We are just alike when it comes to "Tidying Up" while we upgrade. It is refreshing to watch a TH-camr that has attention to detail and keeps stuff clean. Your J2 upgrade video over a year ago inspired me to upgrade my 1978 Jeep J20 to all LED with JWSpeaker J2's for headlights! instagram.com/fsj_overland/
Awesome video! & how do you keep your undercarriage so clean? The springs and other components looked brand new lol. Even under the grill, everything looked so clean.
Have yet to see actual night shots of these on the road/trail. Beam pattern and brightness is everything, why this isn't a requirement to show when doing a review is beyond me.
@@AutoEdits Wouldn't you think so? $1000 headlights and no one is showing what they actually look like where it matters most. Requirement may be a bit steep, but I just learned about these not long ago and casually browsed YT looking for any video showing the pattern and have yet to see anything covering the most important part.
Yeah, I can understand your desire to see that but here's my perspective. I did a comprehensive video on the J2 lights and showed the light pattern. In this video I focus on the installation of this setup and have found they exceed the J2 in every way. Are they worth the extra money... if you are in the market for the techno gadgetry and extra "off road" mode, which is substantial, yes. I may shoot something at some point but there absolutely are videos showing these at night if you need that.
Can the J6's be made to blink, with (like) the blinker? I think most people are accustomed to seeing a blinking light outside the headlight unit. I wonder if having the blinker inside the headlight unit will cause some confusion as to what it means on a Jeep Wrangler??? I'd love to have a set of the J3's in my TJ. Hell, I'd even like the original JW's! lol
Dang, worth a shot haha - I was hoping for a free set of those JW's, that original video is the reason I want to upgrade all my lights to JW! Thanks for making these videos, they've been super helpful!
Pretty cool headlights. Not impressed with the Trail 6 Turn Signal replacements. It just seems like the headlights aren't very good at communicating a turn is about to be made and really, now the turn signals don't communicate at all. It'd be cool if both the headlights and turn signals could signal a turn is about to be made. If they did that, and kept all the new capabilities, then they'd have something.
The Trail 6's were meant to be used as aux lights for off-road use only. If they came on with the turn signals in the head lights you would blind other drivers which is highly illegal.

Love your videos you break things down so well you make it look easy. Been a fan for a while now.
Thanks... but the J2s will be going on the Mustang project!
@@AutoEdits looking forward to that!
I wanted to ask, did you splice into the power wire or the switch wire for the fog lights to run through the Painless trail rocker? I'm looking to do the same, but I'm a little unfamiliar with the electrical. I remember you doing this from your first JW install. Great video!
The fog lights are stock... the bumper lights are wired the same way as the trail 6
You should get the
Xprite Matte Black Transformer Front Grille Grid Grill w/Mesh For 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sahara Sport JK
I’ll check it out
I wish there was a way to wire the Trail 6 lights so they maintain turn signal functionality as well.
Do you know of any cheaper lights that fit in the turn signal light housing like those?
Just get the JW speaker leds for there.
Awesome to hear this!!! Thanks dude!
I think the cable tie tabs are completely necessary to prevent rattles, nothing worse than a symphony of rattles on a vehicle
Keep it tidy!
Do the lights have a nice blue tint to it. Or are they like a bright white? It’s kind of hard to tell.
They are more of a white to warm color.
Awesome lights!! Can the Trail 6 be installed in the fog light location?
Thanks and yes they can... I would be really conflicted because those fog lights are just my favorite feature down low like that!
Kinda late for the party, but I’ll take your old lights!
They are already mounted up on the Mustang project.
Great install! What are the items you used to zip tie the wire loom to the grille? Also, where do you get the crimp connectors? Love the channel!
I absolutely love all your videos my man but that’s just way too much money for just lights. But beautiful Jeep my man
Thanks for the support... I appreciate it!
Awesome video! & how do you keep your undercarriage so clean? The springs and other components looked brand new lol. Even under the grill, everything looked so clean.
I've done a couple videos on that ... here's one th-cam.com/video/29aSApfyIME/w-d-xo.html
Soda? Looks more like a Sam 76 to me 😉
Wow! Good spot on that one... and true...lol
How do you like your offroading lights? Do you think its worth getting some? Do you hook them up with a switch pod?
Did you finish watching the video? I show all of this and yes the Trail 6 Pro lights are awesome.
They look great on the JK. Too bad they're not made for the JL.
I just watched several light videos. Are you changing them again? Why? Was there something wrong with the others?
I explain clearly in this video why I swap lights.
Have yet to see actual night shots of these on the road/trail. Beam pattern and brightness is everything, why this isn't a requirement to show when doing a review is beyond me.
Requirement? LOL
Does the headlight go off when the blinker comes on? Can’t see the blinker if the headlight is on
It does a great job of showing off the turn signal... I left the camera in auto exposure so it got blendy in the video but in real life it's perfect!
Hell, I'd even like the original JW's! lol
The turn signal shows up very well in the headlight... the camera doesn’t represent well.
I want a set of these, wonder if they go on sale for Xmas????
🤞
What's your recording equipment setup ?

Any way of wiring the Trail6 Pros as turn signals?
Sure you could but I wouldn't have it any other way. Once I got out on the road, the confidence I had with this setup just like it is was fantastic!
Do a giveaway for the Old JW Speakers?
I appreciate that but the Mustang project needs headlights so I'm going to recycle them into that.
You could just leave the turn signals in place but you would be surprised at how effective these are.
The Trail 6's were meant to be used as aux lights for off-road use only. If they came on with the turn signals in the head lights you would blind other drivers which is highly illegal.
What front bumper do you run

Get the pro 6 light bar
The cost is the only thing holding me back from purchasing these lights
It would for me as well... I was pretty darn happy with the J2's but I'm stoked to get the lucky chance to run these!
Hey o.g I been a old subscriber since 20k. Saying that I’m not a TH-camr but wouldn’t you want to post the video around 12 pst. Just a friendly suggestion but love the vids
Howdy and thanks for the suggestion... had some technical struggles editing and just wanted to post as soon as it was finished!
@@AutoEdits It don't matter what time. A number of youtubers post them at night; but, I do know some set the release days & times in advance.
AutoEdits Feel that
What is the tool box buddy?

Cozie review?
HA! As long as you're around something metal... that thing is awesome... didn't even know I "needed" one till now..LOL
def should have been more symmetrical with those sticky wire tie thingies. You should prob take it the grille off and fix that.. haha.
I'll get right on that...LOL
Can the Trail 6 be wired to the factory fog switch?
Sure, but why?
