I’m going to make this as a baby shower gift for my boss. Your tutorials are easy to follow! My grandma showed me how to crochet when I was little, but I didn’t really start again until COVID.
Hi! I've been doing crochet since I was young but stopped when I step into university life. Lately, I felt really stressed out because of my upcoming exam and I just think now it's the time to starts crochet again! This is will be my first time making a blanket and the first time doing crochet in the last 5 years. I'm always lazy to make something big, but I'm ready to challenge my self. I'll try using your pattern so thank you for the tutorial!❤
I want to wish you luck on your upcoming exam! I think the best thing to do is ease yourself into an easy crochet pattern. That way you don't feel as discouraged. Crocheting can be very relaxing, so I hope it helps with your stress a little. Good luck and happy crocheting!!
I love velvet and chenille too, TFS ❣️. I watched your video again and the way you crochet is the way I do too! Plus I use those same clover hooks. So uncanny! This is on my list. Thanks again ❣️🤩🍫🍫🍫
Thank you so much for this great tutorial!! Beautiful blanket!! I’m gonna try making this week to strands of Chanel, re-create the bulky yarn. Have a great day!!! 💚😊💚😊
Hi hun, I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm about to crochet stockings and a tree skirt for my daughter using velvet yarn. The patterns she likes call for Bobble stitches. Have you done bubble stitches with velvet? I just shared this video on Pinterest, I hope it helps grow your channel hun ❤️
Thank you for sharing my channel! It’s very much appreciated 😊 I haven’t used bobble stitches in velvet yarn before, but I have done front post double crochets. Those look nice with velvet yarn. I know Tiffany and her daughters over at Daisy Farm Crafts have used velvet yarn for multiple projects, including bobble stitches. You can take a look at their channel or website. They have such helpful tips when working with velvet yarn. Hope that helps! 💕💕
Hello, you will need an even number of chains for this pattern. You can re-watch the video to make the same number of chains I did or you can experiment with the width of the blanket by making more or less chains that I did. It all depends on how big you want your blanket to be.
Hello, did anyone have problem with this blanket "worming"? I am 4 rows in and have just read bad things about Bernat Velvet yarn. I don't want to keep going if my hard work will be ruined! I am ok with handwashing if I have to, but will it worm anyway?
Are you talking about velvet yarn coming undone? Yes, this can be a possibility, which is why I suggest using a slightly smaller crochet hook. That way your stitches are a little tighter and will help it from coming apart. Hope that helps!
Hello! To change colors, you will simply make your last stitch, but don’t complete it fully (don’t forget to leave a tail to weave in). Then you will take the new color (again leave a tail to weave in later) and lay it over your crochet hook and complete the stitch with the new color. I hope that makes sense!
It's really up to you if you would like to add a border or not to this blanket. I usually like to add borders to make the blanket look more complete. However, it's totally up to you! :)

How do you switch colors when u want to?

@@AmandaCrochets thank you very much!!! 😄

Hi again,
I had a question. I want to make mine with different colours. How would I change the yarn to the other colour?

@@AmandaCrochets thank you 😁
Of course!
@@AmandaCrochets would you make the border one color or would you also change colors on the border as well?
I used the same yarn for the border. It changes colors randomly. If you wanted it to be one solid color, you can do that as well.
Hi. I had question, how many yarns did you use ? 😅
I used 3 cakes of Bernat Velvet Stripes.
How do you block a velvet blanket or do you not?
I don't think it's necessary to block a velvet blanket. :)
do i need a border?
It's really up to you if you would like to add a border or not to this blanket. I usually like to add borders to make the blanket look more complete. However, it's totally up to you! :)
