      @@DivingDucksCrochet i’m 5’4 and im trying to have my mother make one big enough to possibly be about my size so maybeee 50 x 50? Or what do you think

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      I think 50 x 80 would be better. (If it should cover more than your legs😊). It would need about 12 skeins of 100 grams. She should chain about 110 in the beginning 😊

    Row 1, SC. Row 2- ch 1, 2nd chain from the hook EXTENDED BACK LOOP SC(ex.blsc) , each row last st, sc. Yarn overs are under not over, that gives different look much neater. I slowed down the video to understand how it’s done.

    Love your pattern and tutorial. Really I do.
    Just a constructive criticism suggestion...your directions are for beginners, which are excellent directions !! It would have been better to use lighter colored yarn when doing the instructions so you can see what you are doing - can see the stitches, where you’re putting your hook, etc...that would be a lot better by what you can see doesn’t transfer on screen w a dark colored yarn.
    Thx

    If i want to use a stitch marker for the end of the row to make sure i have the width even, where do i put it...on the chain one or after the first stitch? I hope my question makes sense. I made a blanket for the first time and it was completely uneven😅 i find it hard to concentrate on counting stitches and enjoying tv time in the room with my hubby and want to rely on a marker instead of my memory 🤪

    When you yarn over, you do bottom to top and then top to bottom. Is that a key part in the stitch or is that just how you do it specifically?

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No, it’s not a key part 😊 It’s just a habbit. It doesn’t matter wich way you do it, as long as you keep doing it the same way.

    I have bought everything and ever since i bought them i cant get past the second row because the yarn doesnt let me see were the stitchs are i dont know were im going wrong

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I suggest that you make a Little samplesize of 10 chains and go back and forward a couple of times to get the hang of it. Try going into the stitch the same way for 2 rows. I might be right even thouch it looks wrong on the first stitches. Look on top of the row; there is a V. You insert your hook in between the legs of the V.
      I know the yarn isnt the easiest to work with, and especially in darker yarn.🥰

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, not at all. Sometimes it will twist. You Can try stretching it out and see if it is easier to see where to go in. But the first row is always a bit hard. It gets a lot easier on the second row 😊

      @cristinatoscano9723 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DivingDucksCrochet Thank you!! I think I’m getting the hang of it. A couple more questions, I bought 10 skeins of the Baby Snuggle (100g). Do you have an idea of how large a blanket I could make with that? Also, can you crochet sections of a blanket and then attach them? I want to make large blanket but don’t want to carry it around with me as I crochet at work and at parks, etc.

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think 50" x 70" could be done. It would need about 10 skeins of 100 grams.
      You should chain about 110 in the beginning.
      In principle You could divide the work, but it will always be prettier in on piece.

  • @robertaneves5557
    @robertaneves5557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I will be using 4 skeins of 100g and would like to make 8 rows (2 of each color). If I want to make a blanket with equal width and length, how many chains do I make? I am new to crochet.

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @DivingDucksCrochet
      @DivingDucksCrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      People crochet in different ways. When I single crochet, I always chain 1 and turn the work, and then skip this chain when I begin single crochet the next row. That way I alwayt get straight edges :-)
