Someone is going to FREAK OUT Christmas morning. What a great dad!! Beautiful set from a "bygone era". What am I getting Christmas morning Chris.. besides socks? Wanna gift wrap that 49er Challenger?
I can imagine you watching your daughter get on the school bus. And then as soon as the bus disappears around the corner. You run to the train room. And start playing with this train Can't blame you. It's a geogeous set.
Hats off, Chris! Great video! I am fairly positive that what I saw was a standing model of you about to join models of Hobos sitting a couple inches away! Am I right?
Thanks! And yes, that is a miniature figurine of me. I went to a train show a few years back and there was a company there who did a 3D scan of me and printed the little figure. Fun stuff!
That's hands down one of the nicest scale passanger sets lionel put together. The colors of that set really pops on your set up Chris. Your daughter has really good taste in trains!
@@craignoll3088 For O gauge, scale is the exact measurements of the real trains just 1:48 the size of it. not scale means it looks the same but its not 100% 1:48 scale
@@davidkoehler136 Scale or not scale, whatever it is it's huge! Personally "scale" doesn't concern me, if I like it I buy it. Most scale steamers couldn't run on my layout anyway, it's too small.
Chris, you are so genuine when you speak to us all. It’s a joy to watch your videos. Each time for me, I feel like I backed the wrong scale! I’m deep in HO.
I've always wanted that set myself! She's going to love Christmas morning! I picked out a Lionel 8406 scale Hudson as a gift from my wife. It should arrive on the 27th. I can't wait til it gets here! Thank you for sharing. Love your videos!! Blessings to you and your family! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hey RBP Trains, 1st your daughter has one cool dad to buy her a an awesome train set, 2nd as for my Xmas wish list of trains " Southern Pacific 4449, Union Pacific big boy 4014, 4141 bush engine, Super Chief, Amtrak P40 " one heck of a wish list ....
*This channel is beautiful not only are the trains absolutely amazing sooo beautiful, the witty banter and energetic enthusiasm is so awesome instant sun from me!*
Yes that is a very nice train set, even tho I'm mostly in Post war and MPC. I wish I lived closer I think you might enjoy my MPC Era Pennsylvania set. I have the original set with the steam engine, but I have all the original cars +the add on Truman Campaign car and the add on dinner, being pulled by a Penn. Little Joe. Altogether about 13 or 14 cars.
I have to say... living within 15 minutes of the Milwaukee Road dispatch center... I am thoroughly upset the Atlantic type was scared due to the mayor, at the time, saying "it looks like a diesels, it isn't fit for preservation." Leading to the inevitable scrapping of such an iconic engine.
Hi Chris! I’ll have to agree with your daughter 😂 it does look like a orange creamsicle😂! But it’s beautiful!! I actually believe this is more stunning that your Big Boy! Now don’t eat me on this one, but thats my feeling 🫣🫣🤣! Next, are you gonna Christmassy the layout up? Trees and lights? With your new amazing layout, I think it’s need a Christmas inauguration 😅 I love watching trains, as of now I have no space in my house for this BUT in my new one which I’m moving into sometime in early spring, I’ll have plenty of room to build😍 Let me know about the Xmas layout! As always, I fairly enjoyed watching this video as I do with all your videos, have a great day Chris! Dennis
man, I wish I had the room for Lionel, If I could have my choice, I just want a Simple PRR A5, or RS-13, just a simple switching layout. I love Southern pacific, and to a lesser degree Union Pacific, but, the Pennsylvania just had....something. I don't know what it was really, but have always been a favorite of mine
Well Just getting back into this thing after 25+ years, and being my Grandfather was a Conductor on the Lehigh Valley RR and I used to have some of that line I be thinking that Road Name would be Great
That's awesome Chris. My son just turned 8 this year and for the first time ever he's asking Santa for a train set for Christmas! I had to tell everyone I was so excited.
The original Hiawatha locomotives were oil fired which helped a lot with keeping the train clean, it's also why you can't see a coal load on top of the tender.
As a lifelong Twin Cities resident with an HO layout, I am extremely jealous! I have so many memories of seeing that train in print and photos, and wish it was preserved. I just wish some HO company made one. Just a pointer though- the Milwaukee Road in particular called their 4-6-4s "Baltics" and not "Hudsons."
Fox Valley Models made a 4-4-2 Hiawatha set in HO but is very rare and expensive. Rivarossi/AHM made the Baltic version which is less rare but still expensive.
Great Train bud sid it's actually upgraded mine to the Blue Nami was having trouble with sound so I gave it to him at York and he's fixing me all up really like your passenger cars
Hi Chris. Really enjoying your videos and the trains you run especially 4014 Big Boy, will probably only ever be a dream for me in England. Any chance you could do a video on your transformers & controllers & why you picked them or have I not found that video yet?
RBP miss you buddy I just watch Chris's trains he got himself a beautiful set there. Very similar to what you're running here how was your holiday how's your family all is well in Maryland I'm sure it is you don't look like you're sweating much.
getting more ho for christmas, planning to get a csx YN1 paint sd40-2, which has already been bought, and a bunch of freight cars, and more track and some other engines to have bigger and oner trains and a good sized bedroom layout
5:01 OMG !! Is that FREDDIE MERCURY ?
That was!!! that was !!!freddy Mercury!!!!😁😁😁
I haven't even watched the video yet, but I'm willing to bet you're definitely going to play with it too

You gotta order the new one so you can lock it in David! :)
@@RBPTrains I have something else from Lionel on pre-order next year that I'm excited about...
The Orange Creamsicle
Just the Milwaukee Road in general...
No Chris you're not vintage - you still have hair. That train is one gorgeous set

You bet I will 😂😂
@9:24 Man, that train is a beauty! ❤️ Amazing what great trains America 🇺🇸 had. 👍
The gift may be the train. But in reality the real gift will be your TH-cam that she can watch over and over again in the upcoming 40+ years

My grandson has loved trains for 7.5 years.
Trainz is the best
I just love locomotives that are streamlined like the Hiawatha locomotives
I remember seeing this exact locomotive with these exact sounds in All About Trains For Kids from TM Books and Videos.
How many trains can be run at one time on your layout. I would enjoy a video showing that.
Good question and great suggestion! Gonna have to try it :)
This channel is so much fun!
The trains make it fun! Thanks Rob!
All I want for Christmas is the Lionel Legacy Grand Trunk Mogul 713!
She must be an exceptional young lady
She certainly is!
Love the paint on this engines
Hey @RBPTrains I didn’t realized that the 4-4-2 Hiawatha had a “Co-Bo” type wheel configuration on the tender.
Merry Christmas, Chris and family!
Merry Christmas Greg!
I just snagged an AA set of K-Line Milwaukee F-7's to pull my 7 car MTH Milwaukee Hiawatha train. Gorgeous!
Milwaukee is hands down my favorite line, Especially love the SD-40's and SD-45's
i wish i had one like that... My family has roots in the milwaukee road...
Where is the North folk Southern you got that's what Jd said

Love the mini Chris on the layout!
Looks like it racing through the layout great video
Oh man ...RBP, how do you do it ..your mind must never sleep....what beautiful stock and engines...love you, man
I blame it all on the trains haha! Thanks for your support!
I like how you have miniature “Chrises” on your layout. Nice touch.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fun story around those. I need to highlight that in my next video!
The prototype didn’t feature a whistle, but an air horn, which you can hear on K&L Trainz’ promo video for their Hiawatha.
I've always wanted that set myself! She's going to love Christmas morning! I picked out a Lionel 8406 scale Hudson as a gift from my wife. It should arrive on the 27th. I can't wait til it gets here! Cool train 🚆 😎 you are a great DAD 👨
Your layout turned out very nice. Happy holidays
Thanks Ron and Happy Holidays to you too!
It’s not fun to have a train still in the original box with factory tape lol. It’s not fun till it runs
I agree!
what a great set
Ok, the running session kinda reminded me of I love toy trains. Especially when the Polar express and the other Hiawatha crossed over the 2006 one.
Another gorgeous train!
The consists are flipped, the F7 Hudson pulled the rib side carsick and the Class A pulled the consist with the white roofs.
Fun fact because of the high speeds it traveled, the Hiawatha never had a Whistle rather it had an Air Horn.
The Hiawatha is by far, the prettest Streamliner I have ever seen, second only to the NYC Empire State Express
Dont forget the g4 daylight 4449 steam engine. Gary j
That chugging sounds deep and awesome!
Great video, thanks Chris.
You should look at getting a LIRR train that’s were I’m from and I love the colors I think you will too!❤

the hiawatha locomotive and the brietspurbahnn probably inspired snowpiercer, the hiawatha looks like snowpiercer but with exposed wheels
