Just getting back into UO. Nostalgia has brought me back again. Played on the T2A Baja shard with my family for many many years. Played UO evolution for a little, and now getting into Outlands. Just downloaded and getting tips on how to start wisely. Thank you for your videos!
Well done buddy, I came back here to check up what I should do for my miner and can see a clear difference in how much you have improved your own skills at making videos. I'm really impressed. Keep it up.
Really hitting me right in the Nostalgia. Been watching several of your vids. I played a T2A server about 8 years ago. It was pretty fun, but couldn't really get anyone I knew to play w/ me.
As usual, thanks for the guide! Between you and the helpful vets in discord I've managed to settle in on Outlands. One topic I've not seen discussed elsewhere is the pros and cons between having alt characters vs. focusing on a main and developing echos. With the recent mastery chain changes on top of the advantages of leveling aspects only once and getting the benefits across multiple templates. I know Wes, Catastrophe, and Jack all have opinions on the matter.
@@PwnstarrGaming thanks! To add on what I was thinking would be to discuss what templates lead themselves to having an alt instead, for example a dedicated crafting character on another account to balance out societies or dedicated PvP characters because aspects and mastery chains are disabled in PvP. These are the sorts of things that I think would really add value. Obviously, I'm sure there are many other better and more valuable examples as well! Keep up the great work!
I made my own version of the mining template and all I can say is I really wish I did a miner as my first character! I dropped the resist, healing, and anat for Hiding and Lumberjacking. He's not as good in pvp, but I'm finding with Tracking and Hiding I can avoid most encounters, especially since I like to mine in the outskirts. I get PK'd about 1/10th as much as my dungeon diver character. I also use camping to bank my ingots(when I get to about 1k) frequently, so even if I did get PK'd, I wouldn't loose much. So far having a lot of fun finding all the mining spots and picking up the hiking locations.
Suggestion: Best farming spots, wilderness and dungeons I think a lot of people dont know about the wilderness daemon spots that are actually solid farming. Also I'd love to see a video of you soloing a mini, but not on test on the actual server and then see you try to get the loot out and that whole process
Suggestion: obscurer templates that no one really talks about that might be more fun for new players i.e. poison mages/ alchy mages with use of exploins pots for damage or Suggestion: explaining hit chance and barding chance, I fail so many times and miss so many hits on monsters and I dont understand why when my skills are at 100 Love the content, you and trammie are the reasons i came back after 17 years away. Outlands is very different with the end game progressions from what I remember
Awesome vid as always, thanks alot! I enjoyed that mining template, maybe I'll have it on my dexxer 2nd build. I hope that next vid is my tmaps one and also winning this insane raffle pack, it would help a lot this noob to get things going :) Have a great one
Be careful doing tmaps there are a group of reds that will steal your loot they have a blue who recalls to all of the spots to scout for them and then they show up. Make sure to have a group of at least 4
I would also like to see a tmap guide. From skills needed to decode it. To finding the spot. To the skills needed to dig it up. To the best method of dealing with spawn. Id like to solo tmaps if its possible.
Is there any sort of outlands Speedrun record for fresh character to skills gm, no town sitting combat characters? I feel like if we made the ruleset pure warrior or pure mage play style as a baseline for the game mode it could be very entertaining
you do get more damage with mining/maces. I did swords just to interrupt mages more since it swings much faster. but for pvm yes mace is the way to go for sure! this build was more of just a way to hopefully defend yourself against miner pks
Confused on something, is skill mastery so common that a newb template can count on having 120 in skills? I figured increasing caps would be semi-rare/rare.
Its more of something they would build towards. No, orbs cost +25k and you need 20 of them. to get to 720 skill points. Then for each skill that you take past 100, youll need 20 skill scrolls ranging from 6k-40k depending on the scroll
@@LeginNoslen a skill ball will increase your TOTAL skill cap by 1. So after 20 skill balls you will have a skill cap of 720 from the normal 700. Skill scrolls will increase the cap of a particular skill by 1. So after you use 20 music skill scrolls for instance the cap for your musicianship will be 120. These can be dropped from any creature at random and bought from other players. Is that what your asking?
Eh, it was more of a defensive against mage pk's rather than mobs. Katana interrupt = mean . (I guess I should have had a little red guy attacking me rather than fighting orcs lol)
Video editing suggestion: I love the intro you do but I would try to keep it at 2 minutes or less otherwise it starts to take up a bit too much time which can take away from the video itself people watch the video based off the title and you dont wanna lose peoples interest by having too long of an intro just a thought
Skill balls increase your skill cap from 700 to 720. By 1 each skill ball Skill scrolls will increase a particular skill to 120 by 1 each skill scroll.
Hey! Love your guides - I watch so many of your videos. But tbh - the miner and bard templates aren't exactly newbie friendly - they require skill scrolls to get to 120. And, all three of these require 720 skill cap requiring an investment in skill balls. Both skill balls and scrolls are going to require a financial investment. So these builds are more for people who can already make some money. For a true newbie - and not just an alt for an already established player - they're going to need to run a 700 skill point template for awhile until they can make enough money to get properly set up with 720. It'd be 400k currently (9.16.21) just for the skills balls - and then another 200k+ for scrolls depending on the template. And honestly - runebook, bless deed for runebook, aspect, codexes, and starting the mastery chain may be higher priority to skill scrolls.
I really appreciate that compliment :) oh boy this was an old one. I really enjoyed making it!! You def cant go into these templates expecting to instantly be 720 skill. They are all easy to get up going and you work towards the 720 and powerups like aspect etc I think a miner is about as newbie friendly as possible considering everytime you get 1 iron ore that's 32gp. Thus funding your way to just about any template youd want.

Finding the hiking locations is a lot of fun. I love that about camping.
My god thanks for these awesome guides and thank you for keeping UO alive.
That bard setup is same thing im running except I went with 60 alch instead of camping. I love the resist buffs that last 6min lol
Yeah cant blame you there!
Another great guide. I’d like to see a guide on the up coming Halloween and Christmas content. Thanks for the helpful info
Oh for sure this will be covered. Excited to see what they do myself !!!
Yay! Thanks! Another suggestion: How to escape from PKs as a PvE build. Like tips how to put in hotkeys to get a chance when they come for you.

Love the videos, newb here learning the steps.
welcome ! feel free to reach out to me on discord if you have questions.
also the newplayer channel there is VERY helpful
After having joined a guild recently and hearing them talk about leveling mining I chuckled a little when I saw newb guide and 120 mining 😅
lol yes 120 mining is no joke
Hi Pwn. Is the last build here still a good build at the present? I have pretty much that build only with Lumber instead of Mining.
Sure. Not much to harvesting..just hit a tree or a mountain 😄no need to overcomplicate
Video suggestion, fun non standard/unique builds
Ill put my mind to work! :)

Just out of curiosity, on the last build (miner) if you went with mace wouldn't you get more bonus to damage? Whats your reason for swords?

Suggestion: How to decode a treasure map, find its location and dig it up. Huzzah! 🦾
This is the most asked for suggestion :) Guess I better get on it!
What about a summoner/bard, provoke them on each other while the summons hit them too.
Yes!
Those numbers sound nice and everything but one itty bitty teeny tiny question that would help immensely; how?
How what specifically, so I can be of more help

is resist not needed on that dexxer build?
needed? nah. but you could def find a spot in there for it! personally I only put resist on pvp templates. nothing wrong if its in there tho imo!
