      @Taylor Danley Really interested in this pedal you do a great job on showcasing the features however I'm really interested on what are you running this pedal through and into is there an amp that you're running the headrush into and then into the Mesa that the pedal is sitting on? Or is that just to hold the pedal up? Are you just running this Headrush XLR out into an audio interface into DAW and using Studio monitors?

      Actually, Digitech produced the iPB-10, over 10 years ago. It uses an iPad and make all the other interfaces look like toys. Large, visible pedal on screen that link to the foot switches. It’s only now that other companies are finally coming round to producing something that looks similar. As far as amps, IRS, and other functions, of course, the iPB-10 is from 10 years ago and is not as good. But they had the right idea first.

    They advertised "gapless switching". Technically, there's no gap in the sound. Just varying levels of delay.
    That's a dealbreaker for me. If they can get that sorted, this unit is fairly interesting.

    • @jfo3000
      @jfo3000 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seemed like jarring volume changes more than gaps to me. You have to time those switches with your performance, just like with any analog rig.

    • @misterringer
      @misterringer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jfo3000 In this demo, there were some big delays between the presses and the actual sound change.
      That said, they seem to have ironed it out with the firmware and now it behaves more like an analog rig. I got one and gave it a try. Sent it back, but not because of the preset switching.

    Very good device. I've been tinkering with it for five months now. The guitar effects are great, nothing more could be desired. Vocal effects are hard for me to match. But there are no complaints about the vocal effects either. The biggest disappointment is the practice tool, it loads files slowly, it is impossible to move quickly through the list of backing tracks. Another problem with Practice Tool - it does not remember the settings, every time it is turned on it returns to the default settings. Practice Tool - is not linked to rigs, but it should be possible for each of your programmed rigs to be able to connect a specific backing track. It seems to me that the developers of Headrush Prime did not understand, did not imagine exactly the user who needs advanced functions. For a guitarist, the device is very good. For guitarist and vocalist - also very useful. Maybe Headrush Prime will encourage other guitar modeler manufacturers to make devices with a full channel for vocals and a normal backing track player in one body.

It is flying over Helix LT and FM3, which are, if not (most probably not) superior, provide "peace of mind" factor. Or $400 over it will give you FM9. Questions about pitch shifting aren't surprising at all in metal context. Most of us are bedroom guitarists wanting to relax while playing with our favorite bands after coming home from our daily jobs. The downtunings are crazy in metal world. Typical established metal band started in standard E in the 80s and gradually down-tuned over the years. Some just one step down, others 3 steps, etc. Constant re-tuning is time expensive and messes-up with intonation and string tension. Buying 5 guitars for just to be able to play a few favorite songs is stupid and expensive. For me the best solution is to have one or two good guitars for each tuning scheme (standard, drop, etc. ) and use reliable pitch-shifting.

    What is the signal chain after the pedal?
    Thru an amp? Direct to interface?

    Between this $1,300 unit and the $400 Tonex, I'm still going with the Tonex any day of the week. This is neat, but still not worth that insane price tag.

    • @AdamYoudell
      @AdamYoudell ปีที่แล้ว +2

      no fx and I'm seeing reviews that the Tonex pedal has latency issues(I'm using the software in amplitube 5 and it's fine). I think in a year or so "tonex pro" or something will come out
      It will have all the bells/whistles and a similar price tag to this

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They're not the same thing at all. ToneX does one specific thing, this is a multi effects board that processes guitar, bass and vocals. If you were going to build a board around the ToneX pedal and buy comparable effects, it would be significantly more expensive.

    • @poison7512
      @poison7512 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TaylorDanley ok.. Tonex plus Boss GT 1000 Core. Less than this thing and sounds infinitely better with a fraction of the latency.

    • @QuickSticks8771

      If you are a singer / songwriter / guitarist / performer the price tag is a third of the price of individual components

    • @AdamYoudell
      @AdamYoudell ปีที่แล้ว

      @@poison7512 It's cheaper(especially if you go used on the core there's a ton of them around 550) however as was said that won't do as much
      as this and you don't get the cloning feature. This thing is interesting but I'd have to experience it in person.
      I haven't tried the Tonex pedal but I'm hearing there are latency issues. Some of the software models are very good

    Some of the folks slamming the ones who want a software editor are being disrespectful and not taking into consideration the studio users. I used to use an eleven rack as the heart of my studio and thought the editor was just fine. Been waiting for something like this from headrush. However, this is useless to me as a studio user with no editor. It is a floor unit which is too big to put on my desk. I would have to constantly be leaning over to program it and control it as an interface. I am one of many that Headrush is ignoring as it's potential customer base. My MX-5 sits in the closet while I use my PODGO due to this issue.

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it could use an editor big time. I mean, just the size of the unit alone justifies it. You're definitely not putting this thing on your desk!

I’d like a dC unit with a smaller form factor, great price though, this will push competitors to march or do better, tc helicon better pay attention. Line six better wake up. I’d like a stand alone vocal pedal headrush.

    I Play Chapman NS Stick with a stereo out, and can process the bass strings independently of the melody strings (something I have been wanting to do forever).... THIS unit is capable of that?
