Grew up with 80s sound and Im just rediscovering this Filipino band and am obsessed lol! They reached popularity in the late 90s and early 2000 but by golly the sound and vocal is still amazing

That is what's great about Cueshe...it's not just about the vocals...the reason why they are still performing till now is because they are authentic "musicians"
Seeing the title of this made me click the video as I love Cueshé so much. Then, I saw that MJ Thriller record on the background, made me hit the subscribe button, I love Michel Jackson. Then watching the whole video of your reaction made me hit the bell button. Haha!
Nice review! Hope you make more review of some of their songs. They have so many beautiful songs, the original melody of Stay is slower and mellower but I don't know which arrangement is better since I love both.

I think this song become so popular between 2004-2006 I was in college that time I remember spending my allowance in burned CD and buying song hits just so I could practice the guitar chords...
Cueshe may have made the sounds in this performance different than the original is maybe because (this is just my speculations), they had a controversy back in the day that the songs sounds very similar to "The Greatest View by Silverchair". You could try to listen to it and cueshe's studio recorded version of stay and hear it for yourself.
They may be have similar melody in first 4 note of the chorus but that just it, the progression is different and the beat, but i don't believe that's the issue why they change the song

That was their first song ever but you must listen to the original "Stay" together with Jay Justiniani the other vocalist of Cueshé...I love the original.

This is what I've mentioned on your last couple of videos, that in a live setting most of the OPM bands like to add a twist to their songs like what they did in this session. They've even added an additional solo section that was cool. This isn't the original version, the riff on the intro is much more slower on the intro.

The punk version was lit hehe they make their old song into something new or a comeback. Wayback 2005 when i was in my elementary days, the melody of the song is more on regret song or loneliness. Try to listen the original melody of it. All of the lyrics will make sense to the original melody :)
