Great video man!! I make the trip from Moose Jaw Sask to Clearwater Lake every March. Use the same techniques as you but will refine my setup after watching your video. I stopped using the ifish pro because of the stupid trigger but will give it a try after seeing your method. Counting down the days to my trek up north. Cheers!!

Thanks!, the trigger setup still can cause you to loose a fish over the foolers for sure. The fish can definitely feel more resistance from the trigger setup on the ifish and also with the angle of the rod and the way the line comes off of it. We’ve still caught lots of big lake trout on them though. I just think the foolers are a perfected set up definitely less to go wrong

Awesome video Daryl! I’ll be up at bakers in April so this helped me decide on what to bring and how to rig my second line before I get there

Question. Have you tried not tying the trebles together and having the top one 'slide'? Can't wait to see you guys at the end of March!

Yes we’ve tried it before, the fish can leverage off when you make a sliding rig like that .

I wish we had guides like this when I was up there our guide sat in his tent and fish all day waste of money

Yea your guide should not be fishing at all during your time on the ice. He shouldn’t have time between landing fish, checking deadlines, helping out in each tent etc.

My Friend Dean taught me to be lazy and just hire Daryl to do everything.

What is your favorite knot to tie to the treble? Does it start with a "P"?

I’ll use that for braid the polamar? I just like to use an improved clinch. Works well for me

You forgot to to puncture the bladder on your bait.

Are you sure about that, maybe I did it beforehand? The bait sunk just fine in the video.

@@306viczko5 I only use the foolers now, the Ifish pros are retired from lake trout fishing for me
