One thing that always confused me about the whole "Mutants are the next stage in human evolution" malarkey is that in the Marvel Universe mutants are constantly being exterminated and killed off in various future timelines. So doesn't that simply make mutants a FAILED offshoot of humanity since their mutant status confers significantly LESS reproductive fitness/success due to them frequently being killed off long before they have a chance to reproduce and pass on their DNA...? I mean, evolution via natural selection has nothing to do with a group of related individuals all developing amazing superpowers, it is simply the proliferation and continuance of inherited characteristics that increase the reproductive fitness/success of all individuals who share those characteristics. So, since the Marvel Universe is apparently full of intolerant bigots who all want to murder mutants, having mutant superpowers isn't an advantage, it's a liability, and being a NON-mutant confers greater reproductive fitness/success. Because M. Night thinks he's a better writer than he actually is, and doesn't understand that when you to try to apply naturally occurring phenomenon like evolution, you actually have to have some sort of understanding of how they actually work. @@cymes82 you mean the postal movie?
I guessed ma'night.
“Doing things is hard”
I felt that.
How is it possible that nothing in this movie makes sense
Because M. Night thinks he's a better writer than he actually is, and doesn't understand that when you to try to apply naturally occurring phenomenon like evolution, you actually have to have some sort of understanding of how they actually work.
Like making water fatal to aliens, even though water is pretty common throughout the universe and they're invading a planet mostly covered in it, or that "fear" is just a result of the body fight or flight response and so will be secreting the same "pheromones" regardless of whether or not the person is actually scared or just charging into the fight...
Yes.
@@persianking44: Don't forget making "survival instinct" the only thing that stops people from committing suicide en masse.

I love M. Night, but this movie was so boring. I fell into coma while watching it. Just woke up after 7 years, so hi!
You should probably go back into that coma

Hold on, there were movies by M. Night that didn't put you into a coma or make you wish for amnesia?
So, Mr Tiger, I'm afraid we've got some bad news for you and then some much worse news.
That was M. Night’s movie???😬
I've actually never seen After Earth. Is... is this seriously the plot of the movie?
I have seen it. Ryan's summary is accurate. The only thing he missed is that Will Smith's character is married to Will Smith's wife (Jada Pinkett)'s character. It was as bad as it sounds.
It was pretty
Yes
All the reviews are sarcasm. You should watch it immediately.

Do a pitch meeting for Pacific Rim Uprising, the movie that murdered a franchise before it was established.
Oh man, he'd have a field day with that one.
Just my opinion but I actually liked the film
Huh, I couldn't even get through half of the first Pacific Rim movie because I felt like I was losing brain cells watching that mess lol
The biggest disappointment of my life ,I didn't even finished it .
Franchise? I think the second movie was already milking the idea. Like people already destroyed the source of monsters. And even there're still aliens left - it would become repetitive

I’m still utterly amazed that M. Night Shyamalan still has a career in Hollywood.
I can’t really think of any other director who has had such a long string of just awful movies...
Uwe Boll
Michael Bay
Raja Gosnell
Paul W.S. Anderson
Yep, he burst onto the scene with sixth sense and has never been able to recapture that.
Matt Stokes He must’ve sold his soul at the crossroads like Robert Johnson.
That’s the only conclusion I can come to...
