Happy birthday. I just wanted to drop a tip about growing sweetpeas from seeds. I struggled with them for ages, until I followed the directions on TH-cam from a Danish gardener called Claus Dalby. He has an English language video on growing them throughout the summer. The long and short of it is that the seed coating on sweetpeas is particularly tough, so they either need soaking overnight before you plant them, or you need to rub them a bit with sandpaper to help the germ to sprout. Then, he recommends to pinch back the shoots once they have a certain number of leaves, to help them bush. Luckily, these trimmings will root easily as cuttings so you can quickly double your harvest. I got so many sweetpeas last year I was able to share posies with friends and neighbours.

💕RECYCLE💕I save all of the cardboard centres from my loo rolls some I cut in half but Not all💕I place them all on planting trays fill with soil then add seed or bulb💕To replant use a knife to lift the whole thing into the ground or pot the cardboard breaks down over time with watering & doesn’t harm your plants💕
The Iris' will spread and you will be giving them away to start Friendship Gardens. That's where friends share their plants. It's lovely to look at your friendships growing in your garden. 🌺❤🌺

Zone 9? Wow, that surprises me, I did not realize it is so mild there. I am Zone 5 so much shoter growing season. We had a significant snow storm last week and still have a covering of a few inches so I really enjoyed watching your video... a breath of spring in our long dark winter. 😊
Jealous of your beautiful weather. I still have over a foot of snow and temps will be below zero F this weekend. I planted 5,000 zinnias last year. Oh my did they look gorgeous!!! I collected so many seeds from them that I gave them to friends and threw a bunch in the big field behind my house to see if they come up. I learned last year that ground hogs LOVE the taste of them.
The more you cut zinnias and cosmos, the more they will produce, just like snapdragons. Just a little tip, for the sweet peas, Put a tomato cage in a large pots of soil, plant the seeds around the cage, and before long you can have a beautiful fragrant topiary on each side of an entrance.

I just planted eight bare root David Austin roses. Orange/apricots, pink with orange and yellow/pinks. Love those begonias and zinnias. I’m in California, zone 9 B. The begonias last several years if you lift them in the fall and store until replanting.
Try Gypsophila they will soften the flowers especially if you like cut flowers. Also recommend Helichrysum Straw Flowers. They're also called Everlasting flowers. The flowers feel like they are dried already! Quite amazing. Love them as cut flowers. Happy Gardening Catherine! 🌸🌼

I remember my grandmother grew them in her California garden and they were prolific! She had one grouping that grew in front of a bedroom window and I cherish the memory of sleeping in that room with the window open and the wonderful fragrance of sweet peas drifting through the window. I’ve given it much thought and have decided that it is my favorite childhood memory. I’ve tried many, many times to grow them in my gardens and I’ve never had any luck with them…but nevertheless, I keep trying.

I love flowers and plants of all kinds. Only cat friendly since I feed outside ferals and an opossum! Hi, once you plant your Dalias they can stay in the ground,you don't have to dig them up , mine have been in for years and have gone through snow and ice with no problems whatsoever.💖
We’ve had rain nearly every day this summer, I think Australia thinks it’s Ireland. My long stemmed purple salvias have loved it. I feed my roses after I’ve pruned them with a good dose of composted cow poo, they do love full sun. I grow chamomile and calendula for the bees too ❤️✨Happy Birthday fellow Aquarian, Catherine

Hello. Not everyone is a fan of marigolds, but I am! There are many varieties and colors and sizes available! Yellows, oranges, reds, golds, mini, large heads.. I love the French marigolds. They too are easy to grow from seed, and give you tons of seeds in return 💛🧡❤️

You can start your dahlias in pots and plant them later on as good sturdy plants marigolds are really easy to grow from seeds and plant plenty of them in your beds they keep blackfly away from your plants especially the dahlias 🤗 Lizzie x
You can buy those leaf collecting yokies that you put one onto each hand and you can scoop up loads and loads in one go. I don’t know how else to describe them lol!!! I had never heard of zones before watching YT, I think it’s very common in North America. Need to find my zone. We never ever have a frost, so I’m guessing it’s a bit higher number than where you are.
I live in Arizona and my home is surrounded by rocks lol, so not much to do. But I do have potted plants, and I do need to get the small weeds out that like to grow within the rocks. So I think no matter what kind of house you live in or where it is located you still have some kind of clean up to do now and then. I love your home and your yard. Take a look for something called big hands I think it is, they're essentially plastic rakes for your hands which make picking leaves up super easy after you've got them in to a big heap!!

Hello. Not everyone is a fan of marigolds, but I am! There are many varieties and colors and sizes available! Yellows, oranges, reds, golds, mini, large heads.. I love the French marigolds. They too are easy to grow from seed, and give you tons of seeds in return 💛🧡❤️

When I lived in Illinois, USA, Hairy Bush Clover grew all over the back half of our property. It's more like a weed but we let it go in the woodsy part because the bees loved it. Happy belated birthday!!

You can start your dahlias in pots and plant them later on as good sturdy plants marigolds are really easy to grow from seeds and plant plenty of them in your beds they keep blackfly away from your plants especially the dahlias 🤗 Lizzie x

You can buy those leaf collecting yokies that you put one onto each hand and you can scoop up loads and loads in one go. I don’t know how else to describe them lol!!!
I had never heard of zones before watching YT, I think it’s very common in North America. Need to find my zone. We never ever have a frost, so I’m guessing it’s a bit higher number than where you are.

I live in Arizona and my home is surrounded by rocks lol, so not much to do. But I do have potted plants, and I do need to get the small weeds out that like to grow within the rocks. So I think no matter what kind of house you live in or where it is located you still have some kind of clean up to do now and then. I love your home and your yard. Take a look for something called big hands I think it is, they're essentially plastic rakes for your hands which make picking leaves up super easy after you've got them in to a big heap!!
