Thanks for the mention, Ron. I feel almost famous now, lol. And great job on the review of the game because there is so much there it's hard to cover it all and keep it in a watchable time frame.
Great walkthrough my friend. I enjoyed it. I just got the game. I want updated current NFL rosters. I have all the decades for 2024. Btw, I agree that Giant defense was outstanding. No way the offense was better. 😊
Watched some hours ago but posting now. I am still kind of interested in the game as I like the look to it but I really would like to hear more from people about how realistic the results seem from the game. I am talking both in terms of statistical accuracy and with win / loss results. I have never seen videos or posts on the Steam message boards for the game really cover this. Anyway eh thanks for showing the game once again and looking forward to seeing more about what can be done in the game in another video by you.
Best American Football coaching game on the market! However, the realism aspect kinda took a hit with Montana losing a Super Bowl to the Cowboys of all teams!
the game looks great and is very smooth. Also great the community has nearly every season for free. PSF is certainly a level above SAT and APC in terms of visuals and sounds. And that makes it an arcade game. Because PSF is still far behind in season player stats accuracy on the sim side. If you coach the game, you can get realistic player stats for your team but your team only. But the PC engine doesnt. If you run a season replay where you coach only your favorite team, or you have the PC engine sim and entire season on its own, youre going to end up with player stats that are not representative of real life on the PC run teams. You get QBs who start more games they did in real life, which in turn effects all other passing stats. HB and FB catches are very low, and this leads to WRs getting a lot more catches than they did in real life, and it also ties into if the team starting QB with better ratings plays more than they did and therefore the WR are getting more Recs because they have a better QB for more of the season. And none of this is new, and has been the biggest problem with this game from the start. Only the plus, despite these things, the game does produce accurate and representative team records and performance. So its not like the Super Bowl teams play terrible and bottom feeding teams play great. Its just unfortunate that the individual player stats dont perform with the same realistic numbers as the team records. So I guess you need to decide if that matters or not. It matters a ton for me.
Thanks for your insights...agree player stats should matter..if your looking for greater statistical accuracy in your replays, APC and SAT out perform PSF
Expansion and realignment, historic career mode, graphical enhancements, optional scoreboard types, scalable draft pools by league size and talent, weather enhancement(fog), and more my old man memory can't recall without notes.
Nope, hasn't been a priority but it is being talked about. Also possibly player numbers. It's a sprite animation game so these may seem like easy adds but they aren't. The player animations are all derived from one Sprite sheet for each team so to add all of those things you would need multiple sprite sheets layering over top of each other. That's a lot of memory issues to hurdle. But we are talking about all those things.
Thanks. I'm 70 years old and cut my teeth on Tom Landry Strategy Football years ago. Good to see it lives on!

Thank you for the in-depth analysis. I really enjoyed the video.
Is the Canadian two minute warning at 3:00 because of the conversion rate between Canada and the US? 😁
LOL!

Blue for the Cowboys love it lol
I understand they added some weather effects?

Looks like the mods for seasons, as of now, only go up to 2009. Is that right?
2023
🙂

In the 80s, you couldn't defer to the 2nd half.
not a wholelot different from last year..

You would think a graphical football game in 2024 would have left handed qbs and kickers. Not this game.
