After watching this and Gardner's vids I can honestly say that I will never play this game. Way too chart-bound for my taste and QBs lack granularity compared to other football C&D that I have played.
sounds great!!!!! Love this project
How do you stimulate a league in action packed football
I didn't see where Buffalo's +3 came from or KC's +1. I assume running teams have negative numbers, which give them more running plays?
On 1st and second down, each team has an individual bonus modifier for auto-play calling. Yes, a plus means a higher pass chance. That's what the BTA on my super scoreboard showed.
Do you utilize the 'pitch around' or 'aggressive ' options?
Nope. I'll walk batters, but I treat it like a C&D game.
Ron, thank you for demonstrating Main Event Boxing. I had wondered what this game was like.
You can play an entire game in 4hrs, I don’t know Ron. What do you think?
Around 90 min offline.
I’ve played 6 games thus far and it takes about 90 minutes. Great flow and pretty easy to implement.
do you have 2024 Hockey?
Yeah. Bought it for Black Friday.
@@RetroSportsNetwork We need to see it in action
R.I.P. Bill Melton
I think you're mixed up on seasons, Ron. You got the AFC right for the AFC Champ Game (Bengals-Chargers) but you said Redskins-Cowboys in the NFC -- it was San Fran-Dallas (The Catch). Redskins missed the playoffs that season but won the Super Bowl the following year (strike).
I was going from memory.
This is the stuff that legend and lore is made from.
And special counseling bills.
Can you change the logos on the team "cards"? Is it weird that I'm bugged by the modern-day Denver Broncos' logo used on the 1983 Denver team chart? :)
They are pdf's.
Hi Eon great vid...where cam i get players photos for action pc baseball i just got the game!! Thank you
Action PC Community page or their Tap-a-talk forum.
@RetroSportsNetwork thank you!!
Thanks for addressing my comment/question about Hurst perhaps trying to go deeper into the game. I don't disagree with the move you made. Hell, it paid off -- PH'ing with Rice bumped lead from 3-0 to 5-0. Too bad the Sox BP, a crapshoot more often than not during my 52 years on this Earth, couldn't come through. I was a monster Greenwell fan at that time.
That pen sold a ton of booze.
Casey Stengel - Bob Turley 1958 World Series. Using Bolton before Smith for the platoon hand advantage may have worked out better. The Reds were using lefty batter after lefty batter.
No problem with your decisions. These things happen in baseball (see Game 4 of the 1929 World Series). Tough when it's against your team though.
The Rare Evan’s error opened the floodgates.
Not sure it was an error per se -- he just couldn't get to the ball and it caromed off the wall. I wouldn't put it in Nellie Cruz 2013 territory either.
Ron, why 23 for the Sox? Were you not allowed to add a couple of players? In RL they wouldn't have gone into the series with 2 less players.
I looked and the lone hitter was under .200. The bench was bad.
What I’ve done in my post season, “win or go home games”, is I’ve changed all my pitcher’s profiles by checking off the box for “do not pitch in relief”. That way the CPU can at least have the option of using a starter if it deems necessary I’ve also adjusted the bullpen manager if a team had, say, 2 closers, but the one that is preprogrammed isn’t doin the job. I won’t force moves in-game for CPU-managed teams, but I will adjust their manager and player profiles.
Good to know.
13:03 < You would think...lol!
Sorry Uncle Ron. Losing the big game can always hurt. I had a Strat tournament game where I was in the championship and my main man Juan Marichal gave up a 2 out pinch hit home run to 1998 Braves Greg Colbrunn. He hit 3 home runs all year but connected to tie the game and I lost in 10 innings. How?? Why?? But that is another reason we play. You'll get them next time.
A Bucky F Dent moment.
One of the frustrating things about doing as played replays, at least on computer, is that players aren't available at the end of the season who might've been otherwise. The game engine isn't able to adjust for teams who weren't expected to make a playoff run or make it to the World Series so players are unavailable or they've been traded before the deadline, etc.. I'm assuming you went with a 23 man roster because you had no way to change that, right?
The best eligible player that I could activate was Oil Can Boyd. The batters were sub-.200 hitters. You guys had Brady Anderson.
No many how many ways you try and figure things out eventually the dice 🎲🎲 decide
As a Cubs fan, this game hit me in the gut, too. I would love to get 2003 for APBA and replay Game 6 of the NLCS. I’m really going to miss your ‘88 replay, but I’m excited to check out the new one next year.
56 should be fun. No Bartman in 03
Hi Ron......... A question about your upcoming replay of the 1956 year. If you are using ball parks, where, may I ask did you find them?
Won't know until I put them in. I have a large folder that I've gathered over the years. Best place is either the Action PC forum or the community site.
Why was the year 1956 chosen?
@@sportstimemachine2102 Great NL race. Mantle triple crown.
@@RetroSportsNetwork Thank you! I have looked , but finding is a little difficult.
Was this an Action PC replay?
Hey Ron, just catching this one on replay. An all-time "What if?" What if you'd left Hurst in? I know PH'ing with Rice bumped the Sox lead from 3-0 to 5-0 but would Hurst have been able to hold on to that over the next couple of innings, or finish out the SHO?
I told you it was a setup
The cursed shadow of Rich Gedman will haunt Dwight Evans after this
Sorry about the gut-punch there Ron. As usual you handled it with class and dignity. Great work as always!
VERY VERY VERY! I'm in! |Great season Ron. | There's always next DECADE!
Congrats Ron on a replay well done...enjoyable to the end
1956 eh for the next replay? Sounds fun. I'll be interested to see if the Tigers can do better than in real life. Heck the pythagorean W-L on Baseball Reference says they should have been three wins better but I can see room for more than that even.
Thanks Ron for letting us know that information about Action! PC Baseball in regards to rain. I either didn't know that or forgot that.
Not easy for a new gamer to do these days with the proliferation of C&D game choices. Overchoice reigns. Fortunately I found perfect games for my taste decades ago and I stick with those. I only play three regularly and have since 1972. Tried many others over the years and they are generally just derivative of those three. That's not bad but never have they been significantly different enough to turn me.
Crap! I missed it live! : S I thought of you around 12 pm and went lookin' to see if the stream was up and just missed you I guess. Shit! I wish we would get notifications in our emails. So sorry about what happened with the BoSox. I was really rooting for your side.
Happy birthday!
Great advice, Ron. Since my return to this hobby about 5 months ago, my approach to my replays has evolved as I find that comfortable spot. I've picked up lots of ideas from this community as I watch their replays, listen to their podcasts, etc. It's a great community. One day, I hope to get to a convention to meet some of you. I'd love to come to your upcoming one in CT, but that probably won't happen. We will see.
Sir,, I had strat 2022 on a labtop but laptop died. Im trying to put the strat 22 disk on a desktop. its calling for a product code. where do i find the ciode to install game? THAnk you..
Should be in your purchase email or in your account info at Strat. Since the code was likely not reset before your laptop died, you'll need to email them to reset it once you find it.
@@RetroSportsNetwork Thank You!
Thanks Ron, got 4 lbs of this game coming soon!

I would like to experience the ultra detail of Rinkside Hockey or 4th Street Hockey but at my age don't have the time and mental energy necessary to get through and absorb the extensive rules. I probably could have cracked these games 25 years ago. For now I'm content with Shootout, Blast, ITC and now APBA.
Cheers, Uncle Ron!
