One thing that amazes me is the videos from the early years of rock...the audience is so quiet and they sit right near the band! How things have changed over the years....
How excited would you be to sit and listen to some guys having to pretend they were singing you even see Francis licking his lip while he is singing. These disco shows from Germany was the only chance we had in my country to watch the music we loved and that was all we got people pretending to sing. They must have felt silly having to pretend playing their guitars:)
I can't believe how many songs have my name in it. Growing up surrounded by Jodies, Leannes, Michelles, Renees, Katrinas, Samanthas, and Mels..I hated my birth name Caroline and its short version Carrie. Hearing all these songs with both my names in them gives me a new gratitude that I didn't get given a trendy name, and I like my classic English name😊
Thank God I found this one cassette when I was 8 years old in my dad's collection and listen to it over and over and over again. To this day I can still as a drummer do that rock and roll Shuffle. Bless these guys

Quo's 12 Gold Bars album was constantly playing loudly in my car as a teenager, along with ZZ Top, Georgia Satellites and Lynyrd Skynyrd... Happy days they were 🙂
I remember reading interviews with Quo in music magazines back in the seventies. So many times the message of Rossi was: "when we are on tour we live very healthy: no smoking, no drinking, a lot of sport, work outs....playing in a band like ours demands discipline and a good condition" And I - naïve teenageboy - believed it..... How different was the message later on, when stories about booze and coke popped up…. I still remember how disappointed I was....My beloved, clean, hard working Quo members...….
Well, the coke and the heavy drinking began at the end of the 70's/ early 80's. Look at footage from If You Can't stand the heat/ Whatever you want period. That's when they really became addicted to the coke and booze. And you can see it.
Its 2023 now and Rick has passed away , I was upset because George Michael died at the same time and got all the headlines and Rick just a couple of lines. ☮️😪

Quo always hated miming, and Rossi often deliberately mis-lipsynced so that viewers knew they were not allowed to do the song live; although on this occasion it is obvious that he is off his head on some substance or another and couldn't care less anyway!
Great!! .... and not a single soul holding up their telephone, just enjoying some Quo. Mind you the telephones back then were rather large and had to be plugged in to a wall socket and neither would it record music or take a picture.
1st live band I ever saw, at the Music Hall Aberdeen in 1974 with Savoy Brown as support act.. Savoy were great and got an encore from everyone there before Quo came on and opened with Caroline and then all their other hits.. denim and jeans all the way, at their original best, fantastic times... goodness knows what they made of their support band being "forced" into giving us an encore before they graced the stage.. 🤯🤯 👌👌🥁🎸🎸🎸🎶🎵👏👏
These lads played Grona Lund when my pops finished his mandatory military service, they opened the Live Aid at Wembley and I saw the last show in Sweden with Rick. Simple yet clever, straightforward rnr. Timeless and pure. Thanks SQ!
We all know that Rick and Francis get all the praises , tributes , accolades , whatever you want to call it , but for me , John Coghlan was the driving force here , him and Alan never got the recognition they deserved , it was always the 2 front men , but without the 2 behind them , they wouldn't be half as good
One of the Most under rated bands ever to come from Britain...such a great driving rhythm to their music...Sadly the original video editors did not know too much about music just watch to see if the guitar solo matches the editors focus ha ha ..
Totally agree. It took some home improvement show on BBC America to introduce me to them (can't remember which band member was getting his digs made over). They played clips of the songs during the show and I was totally blown away. Looked them up and been a fan ever since.

I used to drive a cab part-time at weekends in Sunderland, England. One time I had to pick up a few guys at the Locarno Ballroom after a big concert. They were in fact this group, Staus Quo who I recognised! They all piled in to be driven to their hotel. I asked them did they want music from the 8-track I had. Okay one said. I put on a track of theirs, they all shouted "No,No,No - Fuck off with that!"
This was the opening song when we saw Quo at Stanstead House in August 2006....started with their best song ever and kept up the standard all the way through the performance. Absolutely unforgettable evening :) !
